Ultron Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Why is everyone saying that Winter Soldier can't smile? He definitely can, and does so in the trailer when cap puts his hand on his shoulder. Wait to see the movie before making those statements, jeez...still should've given us a new faceprint regardless though. Quote
NXS7 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I plan on getting one of those soldiers from the Lone Ranger line to fill in for Bucky's head; there's a stubbly one that fits. This?? http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/lego/images/4/49/Calvary3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140425025850 Why is everyone saying that Winter Soldier can't smile? And it wouldn't be too hard for a new face Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Hi. I'm Bucky. I've been mind controlled by terrorists, I've killed countless people and I've beaten up my best friend from 1943. And now I'm being hunted down by the military, 2 men in robot armours, an incredibly skilled African warrior and God made into a phantom android, whilst my best friend may end up dying by the end of the film because of the comic story line (that's not spoilers as the comic came out in 2006 and its not confirmed for the film) but I can still smile like a kid taken from Earth in the 80s or a man hunting dinosaurs with dinosaurs But....these are marketed mainly towards kids. Kids may not care about detail, and they sure don't see him this way. Frankly Scarlet, they don't give a dang. He can smile, after all he's a "good guy" in the new film. So there you have it, plus it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown, and we all know Lego seems to be backtracking lately. Quote

People like MichaelMGF go nuts when talking about some characters smiling. Like who cares? The Winter Soldier is a human being, I'm pretty sure he can control his emotions. As you mentioned the trailer pretty much proves this. I'm not saying he can't, im stating its primarily uncharacteristic. And it wouldn't be too hard for a new face. I agree with this too however. Joschmidt33 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I tend to lean toward the comics variants, so I might switch this updated version's head with the polybag version with the domino mask. I really like that Winter Soldier version. Quote
NXS7 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 That's the one I am looking at, yea. That's a pretty goof choice, I would go for it Quote
The Lego Nolan Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I agree with everything except the face prints. Cyborg, Leia and Supergirls faces are fine, but I really don't think Star Lords face fits Winter Soldier at all, even if it weren't based off of Chris Pratt. It's that smirk... I do agree though. For a line that's marketed to kids, it does have quite a lot to satisfy the average AFOL. I disagree about the reuse of Cyborgs face on Rhodey because the face just looks way too young. Quote
ChubbyMcPorkin Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Does anyone know how the new Quinjet fits on the deck of the Helicarrier? Quote
NXS7 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I disagree about the reuse of Cyborgs face on Rhodey because the face just looks way too young. Looks ok if the set is based off Iron Man: Armoured Adventures. But it is not, so it is NOT ok! Quote
Legocity2713 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Want to make a Captain America 2 Winter Soldier but miss out on the more accurate polybag figure due to the vest printing? Well just flip the MCU Winter Soldier in the Civil War sets around and you get a cool gray vest that is usually on the back. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Deadpool vs Wolverine I really wanted to go there, but hitting up the X-Men at all was pushing it a little. What a perfect sort of set to reintroduce Deadpool in, though? If Spidey got a more expressive face, just imagine what they could do for Wade! Quote
mediumsnowman Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I think Jango/Boba Fett's face would work well for the Winter Soldier. Here it is on the polybag version: The weapon is from BrickArms, before anyone asks. Any idea for leg substitutes for Falcon/Crossbones? Electro's legs *might* work for Crossbones but I'm very unsure. At the very least I'll replace them with regular LBG and black legs respectively. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 To be quite honest, I don't think reusing the Star Lord head is the worst thing in the world, it's fitting enough, but it seems a tad lazy. I was looking forward to a new head, preferably one with at least the mask on one side, but I guess this will do. Rhodey reusing Cyborg's face is not only really inaccurate but also completely dumbfounding. They have the head to reuse, just reuse it! It's not like they lost Don Cheadle's face in a fire. Above all else, though, I just hope someday that we'll get an accurate Steve Rogers, one with that 50s-era hair like the 2012 Robin figure. That's all I need in this life. Quote
TheAmazingDarkKnight Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) I think Jango/Boba Fett's face would work well for the Winter Soldier. Here it is on the polybag version: The eyebrows ruin the ascetic for me. Seems more fitting for someone like, HeatWave from DC than it does Buck. Khscarymovie4 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I finally bought my first Marvel set of 2016, The Iron Skull Submarine set. The only thing I love about this set is Iron Man. Everything else is pretty mediocre. I feel like I'm the only person on this thread who is still going to buy the Crossbones set. Finn's hairpiece in a $20 set is great! Quote

You can buy the hairpiece on Lego's website for $0.61. $20 isn't a great deal. Quote

Personally, I don't like Finn's hairpiece that much and from pictures I don't like it on Falcon. I feel like it looks weird and bubbly on figures, and not like a buzz cut. I'm still gonna buy the Crossbones set because I like his minifigure and his truck is pretty decent and cool. Falcon looks amazing besides the too large Redwing, and I can always resell Black Widow. Is there anyone with a better hair piece idea for Falcon? I was thinking of the black widow's peak one that he has in the Hulk Lab Smash. Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Cap polybag is going to be disappointing, but thankfully we have a polybag later in the year that will make up for it. Quote
