I don't enjoy lists of "we deserve a movie accurate ..." or "I can't wait for my favorite ...". Speculation on the contents of an unrevealed set based on the source material seem legit to me. The way this forum works, we are really only allowed to discuss leaks from those with insider information and then actual facts released by Lego, neither of which are truly rumors. Quote

The airport tower is just as amazing as I thought, but the figures, Giant-Man, and the small Quinjet are WAY better in my hands. Giant-Man is the best part of the set for me. linnormlord Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) I just built the Avenjet set. I know it's old news to some, but I just got it. I really like the jet, even though it looks terrible on the cartoon. The Lego version is sleeker and looks more airworthy, and looks like it belongs with the quinjets I set it besides (I only wish the fire extinguisher was red, I'll probably switch it). But what has really blown me away is the minifigs. A new Iron Man variant is nice, and Captain Marvel is terrific too (two heads!). I really like the colors and printing on Thanos. Cap is meh. But all this I expected. What I didn't consider before is the Hyperion figure! He's pretty amazing! The gold print on the torso looks great (though it is odd that the torso is gold on red and the legs red on gold, the former looks better), the asymmetric cape is very nicely done, and the arms are two colors (is that dual molding or printing?) I am really bringing this up to point out that this set has an amazing minifigure assortment with lots of great printing and attention to detail on 4 out of 5 figs (cap being the exception, and he's also the only one without printed legs). This same care does not seem to have carried over to the Civil War sets, where many have pointed out missing leg/arm printing in obvious places (Black Panther, Falcon, etc.). To put it in perspective, the Avenjet has the same number of new printed arms and legs as the entire Civil War line! Terrific set that has exceeded my expectations. That being said, I will definitely get the airport (mega Ant-Man is just too wow to pass up) and will probably get the Hazard Heist. The Black Panther set is really iffy for me - if the jet is in the movie it's a no brainer, if not I will probably just Bricklink Black Panther and give him Zod's legs (awesome idea!). They could just be a stand in for a magic piece. Just like its racist to have the Winter Soldier flying a plane. As far as I know, even the minifigure selection seems to be based off assumptions--so let's not then jump to racist stereotype arguments about the figures either. Walmart has it, Target has it, Lego S@H has it, Mejjer has it, ToysRUs has it, Amazon.com has it, and that's just some of the stores in America. Man, if you meant a discount, I don't believe anyone would be crazy enough to discount it yet! The movie hasn't come out yet, and the set itself is only 14 days off street date release. Quote

If you're looking for it on sale, I would suggest buying it with double VIP points from the Lego Store/online. It's a good reward and I'm pretty sure it won't go on sale for another couple of months. The Quinjet City Chase was the same price and only went on sale in fall/winter 2015. Quote
Mercury Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) I just finished assembling the CACW Airport battle today. Fantastic set. The Giant Ant Man is stunning, it's my favorite part of the set aside from that wicked War Machine mini fig. And I was lucky enough to score an extra Ant Man statuette with my set! My only complaint is that the Captain America minifig is not new. They seem to like repeating with him. I also got the Avenjet space mission and Iron Skull Sub attack today, and both Captain America's in those sets are identical, but one has fins and the other has a jetpack. You'd think the Namesake of the new movie would get a makeover for it, it would have been a perfect time to give him a true helmet. Heck, there are three new Iron man variants this year and he's not the main character in any movie! Edited March 15, 2016 by Mercury Quote
