IMBATMAN Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Sorry to veer off topic. but I want to make an unmasked version of Black Panther. As of right now, I don't know what face I should use, and I'm leaning towards using Finn's. For the hair, I also think that either Finn's or Bruce Wayne's hair would work. Do you guys have any suggestions? Quote

IMBATMAN Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 What about Cyborgs face with Finn's hair? I tried that and the happy face didn't really seem to fit Quote

agoodfella77 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 What if...... the SDCC exclusive is this one: He and Deadpool are my bets That would really blow. Hot Topic released a red/black Spidey Pop this week. It's not Civil War related, but it's no coincidence that it dropped the same week as the Spidey trailer. It's a repaint of Spidey #3 with the blue areas painted black. Also, check out my Pop thread in the Culture/Media section. It'd be great to trade news and sightings like this. Anyone got any pics of this (Funko Pop Spidey CW)? Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I remember seeing it at MarvelToyNews.com but can't seem to find it. It's literally just the blue of the first POP Spidey painted black. Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 It's actually a Superior Spider-Man repaint Quote
Jayoheazy Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 With all this attention to Marvel SH I wonder why Lego hasn't made more X-Men sets. Is this because the previous 2 didn't sell well? I would love a UCS X-Mansion, Danger Room or Blackbird Quote
HawkLord Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Anyone got any pics of this (Funko Pop Spidey CW)? Check eBay or reddit. But, yes it's just Spidey #3 with the blue parts on black. It's not officially a CW version, it's just coming out alongside all the new CW Pops. Quote
NXS7 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) With all this attention to Marvel SH I wonder why Lego hasn't made more X-Men sets. Is this because the previous 2 didn't sell well? I would love a UCS X-Mansion, Danger Room or Blackbird I think it's to do with merchandising rights. The X-Men sets did great, as they gave us popular, beloved comic characters, an amazing helicopter and that jet!! <3 Edited March 19, 2016 by Quicksilver838 Quote
tafkatb Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Probably mostly has to do with what Marvel chooses to prioritize in merchandise, but the fact that the last X-Men set was the worst-selling Super Heroes set of 2014 likely doesn't help either. Quote
HawkLord Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I'm amazed at that because the 2014 X-Men set was a purchase-on-sight for me. Yea, it could have been better, but at least it was some X-Men. Quote
KCMatze Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 It really was? I thought (and still think) that it is a great set! Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I'm sure it sold well, just less compared to the GOTG sets. Anyways, x-men sets are done for. Quote
NXS7 Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I'm confused on which statistics say it was the worst seller Quote

Not surprising considering the set wasn't even released at retail in Australia. The only way anyone here could purchase it was through online only. Quote
linnormlord Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Disney/Marvel is trying to limit merchandising for intellectual property it doesn't own the movie rights for, hence no Fantastic Four or X-Men related merchandise. Note that there hasn't been an X-Men cartoon in several years. Marvel Anime was the closest thing, and that aired in 2010. That limits young kids' exposure compared to Spider-Man, Avengers, and GotG-themed TV series. Bummer for us X-Men fans, but sad to say we won't be getting any more Lego sets based on them. SDCC exclusives are possible. On the other hand, it's easy to collect them all? No, wait, I don't have the Phoenix figure. Dangit! Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Question for those who have the 2016 sets. Do you have a ton of pieces that came with scratches in them? I've noticed that the 2015 sets had a lot, and I just bought Hulkbuster Smash and it had 17 pieces that came heavily scratched right out of the box! (Plus the Hulkbuster head was misprinted. ) I hope Lego is trying to fix this. Quote

It's probably from all of the pieces that are rubbing up against each other in the bags. Quote

As for the scratched peices I have to say I haven't really noticed any major scratches on the peices. Quote
NXS7 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 My Bucky from the Panther Jet had worse detailing than the airport Bucky, and all of the other characters that use Chris Pratt's head of mine Quote
eldiano Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I noticed that some of their guns are not glossy but like fake coat of matte black that makes them dirty/used. I have noticed that more figures have tons of misprints, I bought two of the same sets, took out their minifigs and noticed different prints than the others, I love Lego but damn their outsourcing factories are starting to catch up with them, makes me feel like I buy used sets that someone expertly managed to tape back up like a pro. SandMirror38 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Went to the Melbourne Toy Fair this morning, Lego section was really interesting! They gave me a tour and it was a kinda of 1 one 1 with me being led around by a LEGO Representative. Here's what I've got Marvel wise: There were NO Doctor Strange or 4th Civil War sets. Surprisingly all Marvel sets had placeholders and preliminary boxes (yes, even for Civil War sets) but asked some questions and this was what I got: - There is Dr Strange sets coming in November apparently medium sized. The representative couldn't remember if there is one or two Dr. Strange sets - He was sure there is one more Civil War set coming in the 2nd half of the year (Most likely with the August Spider-Man drop) but couldn't really say much about it (Or the Doctor Strange sets) Quote
