xboxtravis7992 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) I haven't seen it in any stores around me in Michigan. I bought it online for only $10, so maybe it isn't that rare? I think it's supposed to be sold at Target in the US, but like I said I haven't seen it anywhere. Found it at a Smith's Marketplace here in Utah this morning along with Olaf's Summertime Fun. Both were the last ones on the display, and both were $4.99 each. I'll build the Spider-Man one soon and write a review for it on Brickset, (maybe I'll get pics for this forum to). A few eBay sellers are trying to sell it for $18.00 right now. Scalpers perhaps? Edited March 28, 2016 by xboxtravis7992 Quote
Junior Shark Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 The Venom Symbiote polybag is out?!? Any word on it coming to Target? Quote
HawkLord Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 A few eBay sellers are trying to sell it for $18.00 right now. Scalpers perhaps? I had heard the polybag was out in some areas, but I don't think it'll maintain that price long. The Spidey and the Venom head aren't all that special. Might just be people jumping on the idea that Spidey is in CW and trying to cash in since he's not in another set yet. Quote

Yeah I rechecked the eBay listing and noticed he was selling 2 copies of the set, that makes a little bit more sense but it is still an eight dollar price increase above the original MSRP for buying the two in a store. Anyway I got the set built, and sent a review to Brickset, just waiting for it to be moderated before it is posted! Here are a few of my set pictures: Quote
GoldenNinja3000 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 In my opinion, the Venom Symbiote polybag is one of the best polybags Lego has ever made. It basically comes with two characters and the symbiote itself is really cool and fun to play with. Quote
Scarilian Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) What will Apocalypse mini figure look like, I wonder? Any ideas? As others have mentioned, its very unlikely we'll get an X-Men set this year. If we ever do get Apocalypse i'd expect it to be based on the comic book version, given we have gotten a comic-book version of Thanos and Darkseid already. I must admit that i am hopeful we will get Apocalypse represented in big-fig form at some stage, as it would be interesting seeing the three of them together. In my opinion, the Venom Symbiote polybag is one of the best polybags Lego has ever made. It basically comes with two characters and the symbiote itself is really cool and fun to play with. Depends what you define as a character. To me the set would have been improved immensely if we had the body for Venom also - then we could have the idea of the two fighting before Venom turns into the symbiote. In addition it would make a bit more sense than just throwing a bunch of Venom heads on a mixel styled body. Its an interesting polybag, but overall it just seems like a strange decision. I'd expect that someone was given the Spider-man figure and a bunch of the Venom heads and told to make a polybag to clear them all out before we get a new version of Spider-man (presumably with the fourth Civil War set or perhaps in 2017) With so much anticipation banking on it, I'm 99% sure everyone will be disappointed in it when it finally gets revealed... I'm expecting the Spider-man figure will disappoint many. Chances are that they only finalised his costume design late into production and maybe even gave Lego a different costume design to work off - as i expect there were many itterations of his suit before they settled on this design. I'd also guess that it will be over-priced, as most the retailer exclusive sets such as 'Hydra Fortress Smash' have felt lacking and over-priced. I know someone else has mentioned this also, but i'm fairly sure the focus of 2016 is on Spider-man and his Lego sets rather than Civil War. Most the set's we've gotten feel incomplete, the figures tend to lack detail or be the same as prior years and the sets all seem over-priced with printing issues. I'm expecting the reason for this is that Marvel have encouraged Lego to focus on Spider-man this year to help re-assure younger fans after 'The Amazing Spider-man' film series and prepare them for the 2017 film, as such Civil War is suffering as a result. Amazing Bricks Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Who knows what concept art lego saw for Spiderman. It has me worried, I wouldn't get your hopes up for an outstanding minifigure. If it's anything like the hydra fortress set, there is not going to be any impressive minifigures. Edited March 29, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote

If it's anything like the hydra fortress set, there is not going to be any impressive minifigures. I am expecting a repainted version of the Lego Spidey we already have, or Lego will be cheap and use the same Lego Spidey minifigure we already have for Civil War sets. Quote
retrotaco Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I'm sure there will be at least a slight difference from the comic minifigs, assuming he's in the set. Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 http://brickset.com/article/20115/interview-with-justin-ramsden Per this brickset interview with a LEGO Super Heroes designer, they actually have incredible access to Marvel as part of the design process. So I wouldn't be too worried about how Spider-Man will look. I am expecting a repainted version of the Lego Spidey we already have, or Lego will be cheap and use the same Lego Spidey minifigure we already have for Civil War sets. I'd be shocked if this happens. Seems a bit too pessimistic to me, we've never had a comic version thrown in a movie set. Quote

GoldenNinja3000 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Crossbones, anyone? But at least he had a movie-style torso, so I guess he wasn't full-on comic book based? Quote

Frankly, even the custom in the trailer is unlikely to be the final form IMO. I do hope though we get a proper Spider CW variant at some point. Quote
Ultron Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Crossbones, anyone? Crossbones is like a weird, comics and movie hybrid. Likely based on some early concept art they chose to abandon. Quote
KicktheNitro Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 They do use concept art a lot, if Ultimate Ultron was anything to go by. Quote

Yes, large figures match such characters as well as ifLEGO isues Kingpin mini figure. It can be as big as Hagrid and have a bold haipiece instead of a stud. What do you think? Quote
tafkatb Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Well dang, I was going to claim as an April Fool's joke that TLG didn't get finalized concept art in time and just used the same Spider-Man as they always do, but I guess I'll have to come up with something else if people are actually treating it as a possibility. I tried making a fake Series 16 but then the packaging leaked so rip. Quote
KCMatze Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 The hydra fortress set was bogus, but it did give us that very awesome Quicksilver minifigure... I have some hope left. Quote
IMBATMAN Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I'm sorry if this is against the rules or off topic, but I have always wanted to make a purist Bruce Banner, specifically like the Age of Ultron variant in Lego Marvel Avengers. The hair and legs I have, but what face and torso should I use? Thanks! Quote

The hair and legs I have, but what face and torso should I use? Thanks! I would recommend the Aldrich Killian torso, and the Man of Steel Superman head. With that head, you could have a Banner about to turn into Hulk. Quote

Joschmidt33 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 after befriending a nearby GameStop employee, I snagged 3 more Silver Centurion polybags (they had a ton left over) and the Jurassic World polybag. Going to trade that last one to a friend for a Martian Manhunter New 52 polybag Quote
