retrotaco Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 I've mostly been collecting DC Superheroes sets, but I just caved and started picking up the Civil War/old Age Of Ultron sets, and I can feel myself tumbling down the Marvel rabbit-hole (especially with those Spider-Man sets coming and that awesome Ghost Rider down the pipe...) and I have to say, even though I don't care about the cars that came with the Black Panther and Crossbones sets, I do think they'd look great in the City theme with some slight mods. Anywho, was just wondering, cause I will eventually pick up a Thor minifig, and I don't think it looks all that great, have Lego ever put out chrome arms like in this pic?; I think the chrome arms would really make the figure standout, but I can't remember any minifigs having chrome like that? Clone OPatra Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 The TC-14 promotional Star Wars polybag had chrome silver arms, as well as the chrome silver Stormtrooper. Or you could go to third-party chrome sellers. Quote

Tom Jurassic Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Well, there's some play features. Moving the monster's tentacles, placements, etc. Thanks buddy. Sounds like the play features are well implemented to not effect the aesthetic of the build. Pretty excited for this one Quote
GoldenNinja3000 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Oof, third party may be the way to go, those are some serious pricetags on those minifigs lol - thank you! There are chrome silver arms only (no hands) on BrickLink for about $10. Hope that helps! Quote

Kraby Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 My guess about the Dr Strange hairpiece choice, if there is some grey on the side, would be that it can be used for Ra's Al Gul too, which is coming this summer in lego form, while the new superman hairpiece can't. Doesn't bother me that much, except if it is plain black... Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Does the Superman hair work for Ra's? I honestly would have preferred that. I love that hairpiece Quote

deskp Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Ras could easily use the superman hair and look great. Quote
NXS7 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Guys, quick. No more DC on the Marvel thread. You'll disturb the moderaters and the hardcore fanboys Quote
HawkLord Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Hairlines, styles, and colors affect all universes! This is the next cross-over event... The Search for the Perfect Hair. But really that Dr. Strange set sounds great. Just like the Ant-Man one. If Lego would just release a small 300-400 piece set for every movie (and, of course large ones for bigger movies, like Avengers) that would be perfect. I know no one in Marvel want to help Fox, but a small 300-400 piece set for X-Men Apocaylpse would have hardly any impact and certainly wouldn't take away money from Marvel. Quote

The counterpoint is that the X-Men figures we have gotten (and presumably will continue to get) are the Comics variants, and I for one, way prefer the Comics variants over the Fox Studio versions... just saying... HawkLord Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Agreed and that's what I meant. Basically, the previous Sentinel set kinda paralleled the DoFP movie, so I'd hope for an Apocaylpse set to parallel the upcoming movie. Quote

retrotaco Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 My favorite X-Costumes are all from that Messiah Complex era (when Rogue was in that cool forest green hooded-suit thing) and I doubt many of those looks would be created before 'Classic' or 90's Era costumes lol Quote
Savage Oppress Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Lego Superheroes set with Crossbones is on sale for $19.99 at Target this week Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) I got so bored, I made this I'm 99% sure I scared a lot of people with this, sorry about that This took like fifteen minutes to make, so it's not the best thing. The set shouldn't look to much different Edited October 6, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote

deskp Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Did the set really need another ironman, Spiderman should be enough for people to buy this, couldn't we have gotten CW antman MINIFIGURE instead. Quote
LegoCityNut Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Honestly, if the set comes like that, with Updated Hawkeye and a new Iron Man varient, that's not bad at all. I'd love to see Cap's shield with Spiderman's web printed on it, though. Quote
Captain Britain Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Did the set really need another ironman, Spiderman should be enough for people to buy this, couldn't we have gotten CW antman MINIFIGURE instead. The set always needs another Iron Man Quote
