Just saw CA:CW today and was very pleased with the film. Without giving any spoilers away it's safe to say that the sets are very accurate. I would like to have had a proper look at Panther's jet in the film to see how well the model reflected it but ah well at least it was in there!

At least his jet was in the movie (?) while Mandarin's buggy wasn't? Is that what he's saying?

I asked a little while back but got no response but does anyone know how we will be getting captain america's motorcycle polybag in the uk?

In fact does anyone know how we will be getting any of the 2016 super heroes poly bags in the UK seeming as we haven't had any this year so far?

The new Green Goblin is fantastic in particular, all new prints, even on arms and legs, dual moulding just all comes together for a fantastic figure, almost as good as the famous Silver Centurian and a lot better than the other figs in the wave (not that the likes of Scorpion and Hobgibin are bad, I just love the Green Goblin one)

I've got this surreal sensation of walking into a room a couple of times a day to see a group of people, different each time, around a few tables, while a security guard or two slams their hands down on the tables and yells at everyone for having the wrong conversations about the wrong topics. Or else a woefully underpaid yet very strict primary/elementary school teacher, who looks twenty years older than they probably are but should have definitely retired years ago (because why on earth would they have not chosen a different career path when they obviously have no love for this one), screaming at a roomful of grown adults, who are engaged in a very quiet rumble of chatter, to stop talking.

In other words, I just visited my local Toys R Us. I used to work for that place, god help me. Anyone here know the Australian price of the Web Warriors bridge set will be? There doesn't seem to be any news on the retail front.

Exclusive image of a new Gwen Stacy polybag to go with the Bridge set!

Too soon?

Savage, bro. :roflmao:

I don't know if I haven't been paying attention or if these sets have started going really hardcore with easter eggs recently. I love it so much! Tiny bits like that really help flesh out the world and keep the builds from being generic, and it also shows that the designers really do love the material their working with. I nearly lost my mind at seeing that classic "Spider-Man: Threat or Menace?" paper under the bridge!

I think the fact that we're getting sets like this that clearly have no connection to the tv show are good indicators that the Spider-Man line is going to stay pretty diverse in terms of source material. They'll manage to squeeze a wave or two of comic-based sets in there when they can, and when they do, I'm sure we'll get at least some version of Gwen Stacy, and probably Mysterio or the Lizard in there somewhere, too, since they're the two biggest Spidey rogues we've yet to see.

It can be a separate thread. It looks like one has now been started.

Wait... i thought the point of the no-spoiler rule was that we didnt discuss how elements of the movie are represnted in the sets until after a certain time on this site. Are we now allowed to, but in a different thread? =s

It was never about keeping those discussions off of EB as a whole, just out of this thread so that this thread could remain readable for a reasonable amount of time for those who have not seen the film.

Keep your spoilers out of this thread, please. Thank you.

The huge number of figs in the Bridge set is amazing, but I can't believe they didn't include the dual molded boots on Spidey.

I'm surprised that people keep mentioning the boots. It's a sales tactic - why offer the best Spidey when you're slat easy gonna buy this set for all the other amazing stuff? Save that perfect Spidey for a less than amazing set to add interest. I'm sure Lego knew the Rhino/Sandman set wasn't get and that's why they had to up the "wow factor" with Spidey.

Not every set will be 100% perfect and there's a reason for that.

Oh I understand perfectly. Doesn't mean I can't gripe about it :)

It's easy to believe. They're obviously saving that for the MCU Spidey. Keeping a very bland variation in the Bridge set (And the other two for that matter) will make the MCU Spider-man seem even more special then he already was.

I don't think it's quite that the discussion went 'this set is garbage, so let's put in a pair of dual-molded legs! (Plus Iron Spider)'

More like a sales strategy - we've got an ok playset, but kids aren't necessarily hankering for an empty construction site so let's up the wow factor with better Spidey-legs. But AFOLs still think the set sucks, because, well.... it does. The dual-moulded legs were nice, but the two villains were major disappointments.

This new wave is a ton better, but Spidey himself still sucks. I really feel they should just redesign that figure from the ground up, but it feels like LEGO is re-using prints whenever they can in these sets so that seems unlikely to happen soon for the comics/animation inspired sets.

I'm firmly in this camp. Spidey is MARVEL's iconic character. Just look how many variants TLG has put out for DC's counterpart, Batman -- I don't know the number, but it's way more than we've had for Spidey. That Nth number of times we've had this tired design should be the last, they should retire it.

I think at this point Lego knows it can play the "long game" with all of its main licensed themes - Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. They don't have to release the best possible version in every instance.

Now, Lego does know that they have to out out major sellers, like Spidey, every year or every wave. That's why I think Lego knows when they have a great set on their hands or a sucky one. Rhino/Sandman I think they knew going in was going to be a sucky set, but they were jumping on the ASM 2 buzz and knew some tie-in could be slightly profitable. Kinda like the last X-Men set that tied-in to DoFP.

Lego is really cheap with that double molded legs for spidey. Sure it's a reason for people to buy that crappy Rhino set, which will probably be retired soon enough. But I think more than anything it's Lego disrespecting us their buyers. I mean Spider-man minifig isn't that great, and these legs make him that much better. Like people on this forum mentioned Batman has a ton of versions and it seems like he gets 1or 2 new versions every year, while Spidey has 2 (2004 and current comic version). And while Lego had huge profits last year they still can't give us something as simple as either these legs in 100$(Which is a premium price for many people) or new version of Spidey. Unbelievable! If that doesn't say corporate greed, I don't know what does. Rant over.
