Hoth Rebel Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Did the new sets pop up in the netherlands already? They did in Gouda (Play Today Lego store). #Lego #legohaul by Kevin Langenberg, on Flickr Quote
CF Mitch Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 They did in Gouda (Play Today Lego store). Ooh, cool! Maybe A-Tembo will have them too, then Thanks for the info! Also, wasn't the Play Today store made into an official LEGO brand store, a few years ago? Regards, Mitch Quote
Captain Britain Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Damn great haul!! Hoping to pick up the bridge and ghost rider set this weekend if my local store has them. DC will have to wait as these Marvel sets are the business! Quote
Captain Nemo Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Are they selling the Mighty Micros in bulk batches now? That's new(s). Quote
namioik Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Are they selling the Mighty Micros in bulk batches now? That's new(s). I can imagine Costco doing that in the states for "23.99" Quote
Hoth Rebel Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Are they selling the Mighty Micros in bulk batches now? That's new(s). If that is directed to me: the Mighty Micros thing is just the (upper part of the) cardboard packaging. Quote
Shahennian Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Just got the bridge today for €85. It was sold by a guy who knew someone working at Lego, hence him having the sets before their official release here in France (and for a cheaper price too). I like the set very much, especially the figures. Green Goblin is superb and I'm glad I never bought the Juniors one. Quote
dannallcorn Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Got the Ghost Rider set today, i love it even the fact that the flames are attached to the head doesnt take it away from the set. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 When I found it, it was £90 Sorry for the late reply - log in details weren't to hand at College! But yep, it retails for £89.99 Quote
TheBrickBuilder14 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 (edited) Hobgoblin has to be my favourite Marvel minifigure so far... I just love him. The Ghost Rider minifigure isn't bad either though I have never cared about him as a character... the attached flame piece is interesting and it doesn't really make the figure any worse in my opinion but I do hope that Lego won't continue this trend. Lego's main draw has always been the flexibility and some of that is definitely lost with this figure. Also I don't know if I missed it but do we know why Lego actually decided to do this? Was the piece not stable enough to sit on the head by its own? Edited May 27, 2016 by TheBrickBuilder14 Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 It's unknown why they went with this technique, I just hope they don't do something like this again. Quote
TheAmazingDarkKnight Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) It's unknown why they went with this technique, I just hope they don't do something like this again. Who knows why all of this happened. Perhaps Lego initially put the piece in production exclusively for Green Goblin's Pumpkin' Bomb, but also decided it could be reused and transformed into a head piece for Ghost Rider. Could be anything Whatever the basis, this whole flame attachment nonsense isn't really that big of a deal. Granted it does limit the customizability of other figures, but I'd rather have a flame piece that's molded onto a head but looks spectacular, instead of a removeable flame piece that looks awkward. retrotaco Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Anyone know about how long the Sandman Spider-Man set should still be in stores? I'm am DEFINITELY picking up the new Spider-Man sets, and I'll be kicking myself if I can't get a hold of Sandman or Iron Spider down the line :/ Quote
Captain Britain Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Picked up the ghost rider set and the bridge battle set this morning. Absolutely chuffed, got the last bridge battle set they had in store! For those in the UK I managed to get the ghost rider set in Sainsburys of all places! Thought I'd grab it whilst I was there in case I couldn't get any in the local toy shop but once I popped in there they had all the new sets apart from Ra's and Civil War Spidey. That was in Toy Barnhaus if anyone has one local. Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Anyone know about how long the Sandman Spider-Man set should still be in stores? I'm am DEFINITELY picking up the new Spider-Man sets, and I'll be kicking myself if I can't get a hold of Sandman or Iron Spider down the line :/ Probably not too much longer. Toys R Us has been knocking $10 off it recently, that usually happens around the time the set is retired. It was a summer set last year so I'd imagine they'll replace it with this years' summer sets. Captain Britain Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Working through it now! Quick break and 4 more bags to go.. Here's something to keep you going in the meantime.. Untitled by CaptainBritainDJW, on Flickr Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Everything is now available in UK Lego stores, bar the Civil War Spidey. I'm loving Dr Ock's mech thing - so much playability and 'fun', I'd have adored this as a kid Quote
Sir Gareth Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 My only complaint with Hobgoblin is the lack of leg printing, compared to the Green Goblin minifigure. Quote
IMBATMAN Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 To those that have found the summer sets: has there been any of the spidey civil war sets there in the shops? Quote
Captain Britain Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 It's built! Excuse the poor pictures - lighting isn't great in my house once the sun has disappeared. I think it's a really cool set and enjoyed building it and seeing it all come together! The play features seem pretty cool but it'll only be on display so no use to me. All the minifigs are absolute winners though, Scorpion is possibly one of my fave's for some reason but that Green Goblin is literally perfect with his glider and bomb! Anyway.. one pic below but a load more on my Flickr including close ups of all the minifigs. Apologies for the poor pics and posing! Just wanted to quickly get them on so I can take some pics haha I'll have a sort out later! Untitled by CaptainBritainDJW, on Flickr Quote
agoodfella77 Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 For those who have had a chance to get the Ghostrider early is the flaming head piece easily detachable? Quote
Captain Britain Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 For those who have had a chance to get the Ghostrider early is the flaming head piece easily detachable? I tried to see if I could run my nail along the groove where the flame meets the face/side of head and no chance - it was smooth as anything. I'm sure there will be a way to get it apart but from my quick look I couldn't see anything.. but then I don't customise my figures so I guess I don't know what I'm really looking for. It did look very shallow at the front of the head though so I'm assuming that's why it's one complete piece. Quote
