Great news for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 sets. James Gunn the director has said “I’m making sure this time around the female characters are more represented in the toy world. Not only Gamora, but Mantis, Nebula, and Elizabeth Debicki’s character as well.” So expect those characters.

Unfortunately I don't see us getting a groot figure unless it is in a polybag my guess is he is brick built

Well they're not going to make a new mold for a polybag..

I don't normally get Bootlego minifigs, but this Groot is awesome. It's bigfig size but not bulky like a bigfig.

I think the brick built Groot we have now is awful. I mean, it's a fine build, but it's horribly out of scale with the minifigs.

If you really want that groot then buy it from aliexpress. Goes for around 2$. And for you others, sorry for going off topic but hate when people get ripped off.

I agree with all that. I would love Groot in that style! Right now, my issues are posing him with the other Guardians because he's so big and weirdly built.

I've already got it, I just don't know how to embed pictures, so I posted a link. Good lookin out, though. Thanks.

From the look of what we've seen so far, any Groot figure probably isn't going to be full-size. It looks like all the Groot stuff will be a tiny Groot.

Are there any other photos of him besides the most recent one?

The torso and legs look amazing! The face, eh... I mean, it doesn't work for cap or Hawkeye. It's understandable why they didn't use the AoU face as it has the dark red goggles. What can you do right?

Make a new head?

Sorry, But it really doesn't. Groot is a creature like Hulk, he deserves either Brick-Built or a new Mold.

I'm sorry but how so. Groot is slim. He is tall but not tall enough to be brick built and not bulky enough to be a big-fig esque creature. I think the scale used here personally is perfect but I suppose we shouldn't agrue

New mold Groot, that's what we need, a head taller than the regular Minifigures, No minifigure with a molded head on it, No brick built, just a new mould (Angry Birds style).

I think Groot could works with Woody´s legs and a new moulded head.

Sometimes people over-customize minifigures.. those don't even look like LEGO, they look like Minimates. Personally not my kind of 'custom' but eh.

Yeah, I've said this on MGFs YouTube before. I feel he criticises Lego's own figures so much because he's forgotten their own limitations. I just cited TMF because it shows a Molded head might look good on Groot. However I suppose it doesn't matter as it appears he be small for the duration of the film

I think a molded head on a normal minifig body could look good. It depends on the legs though. In The Hobbit sets, Lego just made a big head for Beorn instead of a bigger body and it worked okay, so hopefully they'll do that with Groot. I also think that the limitations of minifigures specifically affect Rocket and Groot- because for the first movie's sets, Rocket was oversized and so was Groot.

This was my solution. I ended up using the head of the brickbuild Groot and putting it on a Woody long armed / legged minifig (of course this involved cutting, carving, shaving, sanding and then creating a new neck hole, but was pretty pleased with the end result):

The thing is, the height of the figure you are talking about is perfect, but the Head / Body ratio is just... kinda weird? Maybe a new molded upper body with larger legs and then the head you are talking about could work?
