HawkLord Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 2017 - the year Mighty Micros become a thing... I'm in for Wolvie/Mags and Tony/Thanos. Quote

Pulp Detective Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) Is the Mighty Micros X-men set an indication that we are getting more X-men sets down the line?? Edited July 2, 2016 by LOTR34 Quote
HawkLord Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Is the Mighty Micros X-men set an indication that we are getting more X-men sets down the line?? Not necessarily. LOTR for example appeared in Dimensions, but has yet to see any actual sets. I'm optimistic, but the X-Men appearance in MM doesn't mean it'll definitely happen elsewhere. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 So what color is Thanos exactly- azure? I think its just regular Lego Blue like Superman and Bizarro. Not sure on the exact name though. I would prefer dark blue with a printed gauntlet but anything is better than dishing out the dough for that big fig. I gotta get to MOCing up a throne for him. Quote
NXS7 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Not necessarily. LOTR for example appeared in Dimensions, but has yet to see any actual sets. I'm optimistic, but the X-Men appearance in MM doesn't mean it'll definitely happen elsewhere. Lord of the Rings hasn't seen any sets? Where have you been 2012-2015, you've missed so much! Quote
Ultron Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I think HawkLord means that LotR didn't see any sets AFTER they appeared in Dimensions. I think this is a bit of a different situation though. They were phasing out the LotR license, while Lego still has the ability to make any and all Marvel properties, as long as they're approved by Disney. Obviously Disney approved this set, so I think more X-men sets is possible, although less likely in the coming years with all of the movie sets we'll be getting. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) Well with the new Wolverine movie coming out next year we might get a comic based set featuring Wolverine and other characters. And I know it's wishfull thinking but I guess we'll find out more when next years set rumors start to appear. IIRC it's Rated R so I don't think so. Quote
HawkLord Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Lord of the Rings hasn't seen any sets? Where have you been 2012-2015, you've missed so much! Ugh... you know what I mean. LOTR has a presence in Dimension but no "new" sets. Also, been here since 2012 and posting, so... that's where. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 IIRC it's Rated R so I don't think so. There's no way it'll be an actual Wolverine movie set, but a comic-based set to "coincidentally" profit is a possibility, like the Spider-Trike with Electro the year ASM2 came out. Quote
Ultron Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I doubt it though, considering they didn't do one for deadpool or apocalypse. Quote
rodiziorobs Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Well they can't do something for every movie, can they? Even official Disney/Marvel film releases have gone without sets (Thor: The Dark World, for example, which would have been like The Lone Ranger; the sets would have been great regardless of the movie). But the Blackbird did coincide with DOFP, even down to the inclusion of the Sentinel. I personally don't think TLG would coincide a comic set with an R-rated movie (and I'm curious to see where the DC license goes, what with the R-rated BvS developments), but the point stands that they could, and there is a precedent. Lego did actually license ASM2 that year though, didn't they? They released the Electro polybag later in the year at KidsFest Virginia, then to ToysRUs the next year. Meanwhile, those who wish for an ASM Spider-Man, be sure to check your local eBay listings... Quote
legosamsonite Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Has anyone seen the spidey civil war set in Canada yet? Quote
GoldenNinja3000 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Has anyone seen the spidey civil war set in Canada yet? I think it releases worldwide on August 1st, not like the other summer Marvel sets which went worldwide on June 1st except in America, right? So I'm pretty sure it won't be easy to get one earlier unless a store accidentally puts them out or something. Quote
Kman860 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 They usually show up a week or two early somewhere though. Quote
Battlinpanther Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) Well they can't do something for every movie, can they? Even official Disney/Marvel film releases have gone without sets (Thor: The Dark World, for example, which would have been like The Lone Ranger; the sets would have been great regardless of the movie). True but there's even less incentive when it's for a non-Marvel Studios movie. Probably not anywhere. The R-rated cut was exclusively for the DVD release and everyone involved is saying the next movie will be lighter and more optimistic. What's with the black head on Magneto? Is it supposed to be Onslaught? He does look a bit like him, maybe we'll get him someday in a real set? Just artistic license. Magneto is sometimes drawn with his face shadowed for dramatic effect. That's probably what they're going for with the Minifig. *snip* Edited July 5, 2016 by Captain Nemo Images are too big Quote
BaneShake Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Yeah, that's a common effect used on Magneto. They probably used it here A) Because it's much more memorable than just a cartoony older man's face, and B) Because even though it's very in-character for Magneto, they probably would never use it in a "serious" set, so they'd have to here. retrotaco Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 This may have been mentioned, I've been out of the loop for a bit, but IMO those legs on the Sonic minifig pic that was released look like they'd be absolutely fantastic for a comic version of Captain America. Quote

But Cap has just red boots. It's his arms that need that blue-white-red treatment. They should give us dual molded blue-white arms, and wings on his head :-) Quote
Khscarymovie4 Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I have a question for everyone. What was the best minifigure of 2016. The only ones we have not seen yet are the SDCC 2016 minifig and the polybag. I don't have the figure yet but from pictures I would say Ghost Rider. Quote
Ultron Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Green Goblin across all themes Second place goes to classic Ultron but I might be biased Quote
