BluePulse Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I think maybe Vindice thought people were talking about Agents of Smash? Ah, well that I wouldn't mind seeing, but a theme revolving almost entirely around bigfigs would be difficult and pricey to pull off Quote
jimmysnuff Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 With there being talk of a Disney CMF series it would be awesome to see a Marvel CMF series come out with some more of the minor characters. I'm kind of over having dupes / variants of the same characters i,e 4 Hulks, 6 Iron Man... Quote
wilson3a10 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Sorry to off topic but i think this pinned licence tower approach is inconvenient. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hoping if Spiderman is in the film that they won't try and keep him under wraps stopping us getting him in a set. Oh no, we'll see Spidey soon whether they want us to or not. Have you seen how many pictures people have gotten of Suicide Squad and Civil War? That's probably the only reason they announced that Tom Holland would be playing him: because they were about to film his scenes and didn't want unofficial set photos to spoil the surprise. I'd imagine that we'll see Spider-Man's costume officially revealed before the end of the summer. Anyway, civilians: no, there won't be any in the Civil War sets, but I couldn't disagree more with the idea that they're a waste of a minifig slot. What's the point of a bunch of superhumans beating each other up if there's no one to protect?* Not that every set needs 'em, but a normal human here and there (especially a really nice fig like that banana guy) adds some context beyond just good guys fight bad guys because bad guys are bad. Especially when it comes to characters like Gwen Stacy or Jimmy Olsen. Supporting casts are so underrepresented in these sets. Ah, well that I wouldn't mind seeing, but a theme revolving almost entirely around bigfigs would be difficult and pricey to pull off I think one set with Hulk and She-Hulk wouldn't be too bad. Maybe a more expensive set with just Red Hulk and Abomination would fly, too. Nothing as frequent as Avengers Assemble or Ultimate Spider-Man, but at least a set or two would be nice. With there being talk of a Disney CMF series it would be awesome to see a Marvel CMF series come out with some more of the minor characters. I'm kind of over having dupes / variants of the same characters i,e 4 Hulks, 6 Iron Man... I know we have this discussion every so often, but I doubt they could do that, legally. Marvel's action figure rights lie with a different company. That's why all of the Marvel POP Vinyls are bobbleheads. Selling individual figures like that would be categorized as selling action figures, and they can't they do that. Of course, I don't know what makes the polybags so special, but I'm no law professor. I'm hoping that since Disney owns Marvel that they may rethink letting Lego and Funko do action figures, since Hasbro's traction with some action figures is limited. Quote

Ultron Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 There's a pic of Crossbones from the new Marvel game. It seems to be comic based though, but maybe our one from the sets next year will be similar? Quote
agoodfella77 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) I know that X-Men don't get a lot of "love" / attention here (obviously due to well discussed reasons) -- but the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been announced for the upcoming film (Storm, Psylocke, Angel and Magneto) -- would be great to get an official Angel or Psylocke -- but my biggest want would be a Big Fig Apocalypse. Colossus Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 ...my biggest want would be a Big Fig Apocalypse. Amen to that! Quote
Vindice Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I don't think people should give up on the x-men. I've been a huge fan of the comics for 25 years now and am as gutted as anyone about the films not being part of the marvel universe but marvel haven't buried them as much as the conspiracy theorists have suggested. The comics still get a lot of attention as for many years they were marvels number one franchise, the characters still show up in marvel endorsed games, they have the most talented writer on their payroll in bendis and have had a terrific new cast of characters in all new xmen. TLG have already made two x-men sets so there is obviously no ban on them from Disney. The reason for a lack of sets so far will simply be a commercial decision. I'm not expecting much for the apocalypse film unfortunately as its once again not likely to be aimed at TLG's core market but I would still expect more sets to filter through every now and again. Keep the faith everyone. We will get these figures someday, they see this theme having the sort of longevity (potentially) that SW has enjoyed. Quote
Borex Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 And if they'll do another x-men set the most logic thing to do is make it a comic set. With of course a wolverine in it and a new magneto. Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) Shocker would be awesome to get as a minifigure. Although it seems unlikely, he could end up being in a 2016 Spiderman set. And I think I see ghost rider! He would be another excellent minifigure to get in 2016 Edited July 13, 2015 by amazingbricks Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I wouldn't say that X-Men sets are off the table by any means. They're just far less likely. I find it almost impossible to believe that we won't see another Deadpool figure next year, since his movie is coming out. Of course, it won't be based on the movie, but a loose tie-in like the last X-Men set. Marvel doesn't have some grudge against Fox, Fox just gets a large percentage of the merchandising profits for X-Men and Fantastic Four characters which makes that merch less lucrative for Marvel. Spider-Man didn't have that problem because Marvel got his merch rights back a few years ago. Shocker would be awesome to get as a minifigure. Although it seems unlikely, he could end up being in a 2016 Spiderman set. And I think I see ghost rider! He would be another excellent minifigure to get in 2016 I think the big problem with Shocker is that the top of his head is brown and the rest is yellow, so either they'd have to cut the yellow bit at the sides or cut the brown and it wouldn't look right either way. Unless their dual-color molding is up to that challenge by next year. Quote

TeamStucky Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Great image! Loving the bigfig Thanos with infinity guanlet and hope to see just that in the upcoming Infinity War sets... (2018 seems so darn far away ) Quote
Ultron Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 This makes me even more sad that we don't get many Xmen sets Quote

Sign me up for Big Fig Apocalypse. X-Men have had a theme of having 1 set every 2 years. So perhaps? We had one last year when DoFP came out, so its likely we'll get one next year to "unintentionally" coincide with the movie. But with that whole "we want the X-Men in the MCU so no toys for you," embargo, it doesn't seem likely. Shocker would be awesome to get as a minifigure. Although it seems unlikely, he could end up being in a 2016 Spiderman set. And I think I see ghost rider! He would be another excellent minifigure to get in 2016 Oh, i'd love Shocker. He is one of my favorite Spider-Man villains of all time. Just a thug with some better tech. Great when he is a hardened mercenary in certain iterations. Edited July 14, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote
Marvel_Geek Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Look again he's in there Also Wiccan, Ms Marvel, Kamahla Khan, Lady Thor and Detroit Steel are confirmed Cool, looking forward to Wiccan, Ms Marvel, and Lady Thor. As for your earlier comment I considered hulkbuster with the Age of Ultron figures. Dose anyone know if we could see sets from earlier movies? For example the iron mans. With the whiplash, mrk 1, and mrk 5 designs in the lego games I wasn't sure if it is possible. I you don't know that's fine it was just an idea. Quote
