Ojik Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The Juniors set (preliminary) has Loki in it in the exact same version as Avengers 2012, no blank pieces so I'm almost sure it'll be that version. Iron Man (old version, not sure which one) has a car, basically a recolor from the Juniors beach set. A little bit of industrial scenery but nothing special. It's not a final pic so maybe the figures are new in the final thing, but I don't think they'll be. Oh. I'm afraid we might not get an updated Loki. I commented on your YouTube video a while back, expressing my hopes for better Loki with new printing, proper face and a hairpiece and, more importantly, that I would love the Iron Man to be Mark VII. It would be a great move from LEGO for people like me who don't have the original Quinjet. Let's hope! Quote

Imagine a comic version of Loki, like one pictured here: Loki [VARIANTS] [COMIC] [MCU] [MOC] by agoodfella minifigs, on Flickr Or a classic Yellow / Red variant of Iron Man Quote

Imagine a comic version of Loki, like one pictured here: *snip* Or a classic Yellow / Red variant of Iron Man Nice work. I agree comics designs are somehow unused in the Super Heroes theme. Even though I, as a huge MCU fan, prefer movie designs, this line deserves more minifigures from the source materials. But since J2G said we are getting film versions in the Juniors sets, I think it would be reasonable to include something more than third Mark VI and fourth messed up Loki. Quote

tafkatb Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Hahahaha Wow. I'm honestly so confused. What's the purpose of the catalog you saw? Seriously, how does that info help retailers, marketing, whoever it was intended for? This is pretty much how it always works for sets based on upcoming movies. It helps retailers by simply alerting them to the fact that there will indeed be LEGO sets tying in to this guaranteed-to-be-enormously-popular film, which is pretty much all the information those retailers really need to decide whether to carry them. And since the sets don't come out until March anyway, they don't warrant much more than a small teaser in a catalog largely focused on January releases. Quote
Rookie875 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Jet Like build (largest set) set also comes with Giant Man and Micro-fig Ant-Man. Do you mind if I ask who else was in that set? Quote
kevkipo Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I think it's weird, Giant Man, Ant sized Ant-man. But no regular sized Scott at all? is his costume THAT similar to last year? Quote

It is weird, but to be fair in battle Antman is either shrunken or huge. He doesn't spend too much time regular sized Quote

LEGODalekbuster523 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I really wish they'd produce a Fantastic Four set based on the comics. Who wouldn't buy a 500 piece Baxter Building set with Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben minifigures? Quote

agoodfella77 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I'm pumped we are getting a micro Ant-Man, I had that on my "to do" list, but can happily scratch that off! Quote

Everyone who keeps saying "we need a Vision with an accurate colored gem" or "we need a new Ant Man costume" are seriously overthinking what LEGO is doing. Believe or not, they still want you to buy the excess stock of Quinjets they made. They want you to buy those $20 Ant Man sets. I think it makes total sense to only give us Giant Man and microfig Ant Man in a new set without giving us another standard Ant Man. Heck, you rarely--if ever--see two iterations of the same character in a single set. Asking for three would just be unheard of. Edited September 19, 2015 by dmarvin Quote

Of course there were the 7 straight sets of the same Ultimate Spider-Man variant LEGO pumped out from 2012 to 2014 (if you count the Juniors variant which only swapped in the red hips and changed nothing else, its 8 straight). EVERY Marvel set from 2014 AND 2015 is still available; the relevant AoU and Ant-Man sets will still be here come March. I think Wanda and Widow are only exceptions because Marvel is trying to make up for a spotty record. Of course there were the 7 straight sets of the same Ultimate Spider-Man variant LEGO pumped out from 2012 to 2014 (if you count the Juniors variant which only swapped in the red hips and changed nothing else, its 8 straight). Well, Batman and Iron Man were in nearly every set in their respective lines for years, too. A few characters are perennial draws for kids, but most aren't. Quote

For example for Iron Man (since I'm not that familiar with DC figs) -- you've had in a shorter timeframe the following variants: - Mark 6 - Mark 7 - Mark 17 (Heartbreaker) - Mark 42 - Mark 43 - Mark 45 and then the video game exclusive Mark 33 (Silver Centurion coming out later this year) People love to say "Iron Man again?" but we've actually been lucky to have had so many variations IMO. Not to mention the Tony Stark civilian figure! We've absolutely been lucky with Iron Man. My point is that even though Iron Man can support many variations and figures, Hawkeye/Vision/Ant-Man might not, at least not with that frequency. When kids can also get them on the same shelf in an existing set, it slightly reduces the appeal of both sets. Obviously, I'm just an amateur. If Lego's market research says multiple Hawkeyes or Ant-Men will move more units than Black Panther or MCU Spider-Man in 2016, I defer to their expertise. I didn't think Friends would sell, and look at it now... Quote
kevkipo Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Well, i am as happy as everyone with Mini Ant-man and Giant-man! will make for awesome displays However (And don't get me wrong i'd work with this years suit) there are people that would want a new Ant-Man just as much as a (VERY) updated Hawkeye, War Machine, maybe even Vision (Who didn't really get an update really, aside from the Gem) But all the nitpicking aside, i already love the sound of this wave, and i really think i'm going to buy everything! frank_day Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 There's still a little question about the quantum of CA:CW sets. Just 3 sets OR more than 3 sets? If more than 3, does it mean there will be another wave or just an exclusive one? Quote
