What do we know about the '66 Batcave set? I've seen little chatter about it but I don't recall if we know the size, price, approx piece count, etc.

It's a D2C more than $120 I think. Nothing else.

Yes, precisely what's in the first post of this topic is all we know.

The only other thing we can correctly assume is that Catwoman will be included in the set, based on the shape of the Tiger Woman's hair. However, it hasn't been technically confirmed yet. '66 Batman's official design may have been teased a while ago, but we don't know if that's exactly what we'll get.

Lego released a picture of an Adam West-style minifig and Batmobile a while ago. Dunno if the artist had seen the actual set or not, but it might give you some idea of what to expect:

Already seen and discussed, but thanks for sharing! :classic:

Look, yet another listing for the leaked black "Beyonds" Batman, which I think is 100% real, but here's the kicker- it ALSO lists the Nurse Joker. I didn't think that one was real in the first place, but since this is another totally separate source (I think) of the figure, I'm starting to actually really think that one is real.

Maybe for in the racers set? It was rumored that the Joker would appear in his Dark Knight version with a suit from Arkham Asylum in that set. But I still don't think that Batman figure is real.

The Joker doesn't appear in a racers set, unless some come in the Summer, which I doubt.

If these are '100% Real LEGO' as the listing says, why do they have no marks on their necks? The only LEGO minifigs that have no marks on their necks come out of the Chinese factory. That would mean these minifigs would come in a Collectible Minifig series (which they obviously don't), a promotional polybag, or some other type of gear like a book or DVD.

Maybe these will be promo minifigs. Regardless, this listing proves to me that they won't be in sets.

That Nurse Joker torso also looks remarkably bad for an official print.

I'll admit and say that the wings look official now. Nurse joker looks like it could definitely be real. I feel like both of them reusing previous torsos in different colors is so bizarre.

Because of the wings, the Batman minifigure would have to be in a polybag, eliminating the possibility of him being included with a book, and lowering the chance of him coming with a movie... :sceptic:

But stil...both do NOT have a backprint, which is totally unnormal for latest minifigs. Don't think they are real - if they are they must be some kind of gimmick you get with something. But even then LEGO would normally not release such "cheap" figures, I think.

Also, the pics just show the "LEGO" branding on both leg pieces... that are unprinted so it would be really easy to put some genuine legs in the auction to declare them as genuine LEGO.

I honestly can't decide it they're real or not, the more I think about the less certain I am. Only time will tell.

The lack of completely new prints and no back printing could just be for cost reasons I guess (Though generally this theme isn't so lazy with minifigures, so that is peculiar). For Batman in particular he's almost always wearing something that covers his back, so really I'm surprised they've included so many back prints so far for him (They're nice, but sort of pointless I guess). As for the Joker I could see them using a modified version of the Harleen Quinzel torso to imply they both work in the same place or so that there's visual symmetry between them, but for this one I do think the lack of back printing is suspect.

Now that I think of it, the reusing of prints and lack of back printing could be due to a time constraint. Perhaps these were rushed into production and that's why they have an iffy design and quality to them. Who knows, DC might have suddenly demanded these particular variations and Lego had to jump to get them out in time.

I think they based that Batman minifig off of this from that Batman Unlimited animated movie:

space batman and hawkman plastic sheet wings sheet had the aprt number writter on it in the corner. this does not.

And that has the "copyright" printed in black on top of another shade black, not how lego usually does it at all..

Excellent catch! I had not noticed but that is very true, yet another nail in the coffin for these minifigures as far as I am concerned. They just are not LEGO standard in terms of design or printing.

The real and fake debate is so repetitive. I think all three are real at this point, leaked figures from one source are sometimes fake, but this is from multiple places. Instead of going on if they're real or fake, let's move on and speculate that, if they're real, where wouls they show up, or if you like them or not (I know I even added to the real/fake debate, many of us did, but let's move on because it isn't going anywhere).
