Is anybody else seeing the new Ant-Man figure in the Civil War sets and thinking Giganta is definitely on the way?

They could, and probably would, use the same techniques if they ever decided to put her in a set. I wouldn't take this as any indication she is on the way though.

Say what Aegis2000?

It's just a picture of Alfred from the '66 show.

Honestly, I think Giant-Man looks great, but for an unarmored character like Giganta, it would look too mechanical and artificial.

And considering the CMF hints, it might be safe to assume that Alfred is in the Batcave. Big surprise. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for the LB3 cast (Batman, Robin, Alfred, Batgirl, Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin, and Joker).

It wouldn't surprise me if they left one of them out... Toys companies tend to do things like that... but by all account of the set size etc I'm hoping for the same!

The Giant Man looks well done, but as they have moulds for the alarm clocks and torches which are just bigger minifigures, why not produce a bigger figure?

I'm a little confused, since I think this is the DC thread. But the answer is that the factories and molds that produce those objects have less precise tolerances, and those figures don't have any kind of connections with system building.

If you're suggesting that they make a new large minifigure mold that is in system, they could have, but that would be an added cost. On top of that, this seems like more fun anyway, and it works better as part of the LEGO building experience.

Keep hoping. It's been said many times that it won't happen, since a series of individual figures would count as action figures, which Hasbro holds the license to.

Actually, I don't think that's a problem anymore. Recently Imaginext (a toy line owned by Fisher Price owned by Mattel, one of Hasbro's biggest rivals) accidentally revealed an upcoming series of individual blindbag figures based on DC characters.

Unfortunately, a Lego CMF series for DC would most likely just be a bunch of rehashes of Batman characters we already have with unique new prints and then one or two new characters. :hmpf_bad:

Hasbro doesn't own the license for DC action figures. Mattel and NECA do to varying degrees. Hasbro has been really firm with their Star Wars license which made Lego back off from the magnets they once made, but it's unknown what's in the license Mattel/NECA has so maybe there's a chance at a DC CMF line.

Hasbro has some Disney owned licenses (Including Star Wars, Marvel).

Mattel has most DC and most "classic" Disney Studio licenses.

Bandai has some DC (Teen Titans) and some Disney (Big Hero 6).

It's hard to keep up with...

The minifigs being glued or screwed down to the magnets base has nothing to do with the Hasbro license. Lego stopped doing that because people were being the magnets for the figs instead of buying sets.

Mighty Micros Batman & Robin look great, especially since Bats is BTAS variant. Idk what to do about the short legs though? So stoked for every DC set actually

It's common knowledge here (and elsewhere) that Hasbro put their foot down to stop Lego from making the magnets in the unglued form. None of the magnet sets really had minifigures that were detracting from set purchases.

It's tricky because different companies have different licensing agreements. I know some people (myself included) are still hoping when the current Hasbro license expires in 2017 that Disney might be able to renegotiate something for Lego to make CMF Star Wars and Marvel characters.

Welcome and thanks for sharing. There is a subforum on media and gaming for this kind of news. This thread is all about the sets and figs.

Buy some long legs to replace them?
