adotnamedstud Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 That looks like a great set! Some more rock work would've been nice though under the mansion... It does look very plain.
8BrickMario Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) I guess it will be $250,- like the Ghostbusters HQ. That set's $350, but I hope this one won't be. I think the bust is using Shakespeare's hair. Well, at least they're using it again. Edited January 6, 2016 by 8BrickMario
Cammo Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I hope it's nothing above the 250 EUR range or this will have to wait until October. With all these new DCCU merchandise, I really don't have the budget to buy everything. Especially if I'm buying several Hot Toys figures as well...
newwavejunkie Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 That set's $350, but I hope this one won't be. It doesn't seem as substantial as the Ghostbusters HQ set so I don't think it will be that expensive. Maybe $200? Though I'm hoping for less.
JaHawk2009 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 A few pages back someone told me $120? I hope they weren't getting my hopes up!
8BrickMario Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 A few pages back someone told me $120? I hope they weren't getting my hopes up! Too much for $120. I think it was said to be over, so perhaps $200 at the very least.
JaHawk2009 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Too much for $120. I think it was said to be over, so perhaps $200 at the very least. Darn, was really hoping it would be on the lower end of the D2C scale. Most I could afford is around $175 so guess I'll quell my hype for this set until an official announcement - which can't be too far off if it's on shelves somewhere in the world.
Sam892 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 So wheres 1966 Mister Freeze? Didn't his figure leak a while back. If he's not in the batcave does that mean theres two 1966 Batman sets?

Probably the LEGO Brand Store offer during the initial release, being a bonus for purchasing anything over [insert amount here].
Captain Nemo Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Seems likely that it'll be priced around $159.99--$199.99 to me. It's comparable to Arkham in size and piece amount (The large panels make it big without adding tons of parts). For sure nothing like the cost of the GB Headquarters or anything. The Classic Mr. Freeze is most likely a polybag figure that will be released in conjunction with the Batcave VIP release.
JaHawk2009 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Cap Nemo, you give me hope at a trying time! I'm seriously excited for HD pics of the minifigs - especially Catwoman and Joker.
tafkatb Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Oh cool, I hadn't seen the back yet. Nice to see there's an exterior wall to reenact celebrity window cameos.
CM4Sci Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Oof that stud wall is a major eyesore, but it looks like the back of it is part of the manor! The set looks awesome though!

You are right, the large panels do make it look larger than Arkham but it's probably pretty close in piece count. I missed out on Arkham but I will not miss out on this set, that's for sure. Disappointed there is no Batgirl, though.
Sam892 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Oof that stud wall is a major eyesore, but it looks like the back of it is part of the manor! The set looks awesome though! I'm guessing the only reason for the stud wall is to reenact them walk up walls. At least thats what I think that rope is for. But ye the studs do reduce the beauty of the set.
BuzzableBuzzer Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Looks great (IMO)! The studded wall is a bit ugly but I'll fix that when I get it, the minifigs look great as well!
tafkatb Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Also, y'all are way off on comparing the piece count to Arkham. This has around 900 more pieces, easy.
CM4Sci Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Wait, no Batgirl? What an unfortunate miss, her actress died last year didn't she? Would've been a nice addition. Though, it says Classic Batman TV Series - Batcave, implying there may be more classic Batman to come ;)
Legoman123 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Really loving this set, I can't wait to pick it up!! The fact that we are getting five 60's villains as well is fantastic.
8BrickMario Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Though, it says Classic Batman TV Series - Batcave, implying there may be more classic Batman to come ;) Unless this is meant to be a hint, I wouldn't expect it. This set will represent the most iconic part of the show, and I think the most famous characters have been covered. Sure, Batgirl would be great, but I can't see them making more sets when most of the show's icons are here.

I dunno, I just find it a missed opportunity
Captain Nemo Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Also, y'all are way off on comparing the piece count to Arkham. This has around 900 more pieces, easy. I don't get the feeling that there's 2500+ pieces in this. The cave largely consists of columns, and overall it's rather hollow. But who knows. Wait, no Batgirl? What an unfortunate miss, her actress died last year didn't she? Would've been a nice addition. Batgirl would have made a better promo figure than Mr. Freeze I think--at least in regards to the importance of her character on the show. Maybe Lego didn't want to go through the cost of recoloring her headpiece.

Maybe Lego didn't want to go through the cost of recoloring her headpiece. I agree with that. Though the Mr. Freeze minifig looks great, he's not as iconic as Batgirl...especially considering two other actors played Mr. Freeze in the series.
8BrickMario Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 As much as I prefer villain figures, I sort of agree, but there is justification. I think it's the molds thing again. D2Cs don't really have new molds, just recolors. If there's a new part, it's a building element seen elsewhere in the year's sets. Thus, the need to use the Catwoman hair in S14 first, and the lack of a Batgirl, whose hair/cowl would need a new mold.
newwavejunkie Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 It looks like Catwoman has a double-sided face: with and without the Domino mask. Most of the time Julie Newmar didn't wear the mask anyway. It's a small detail I appreciate. I hope they do the same for the the Riddler. Was anyone else hoping the Riddler would be wearing his suit and bowler hat instead of the leotard? I know the leotard is more iconic to this version of the Riddler but I always preferred the look of the suit.
