Screw this sets price. I mean, $270 for that? While it's got good figs and some nice builds, it's just not worth $270. LEGO sets should never get that expensive. I'll want to see a review before even thinking about saving up, because while it's big I don't see this as a display piece. I hope it has some good play features and just well, features to make it worth it, as I can't really see anything that justifies it's huge price point.

$270??? That's outrageous! I thought people speculating that it would be $200 was silly and I figured that it would be around the price of Arkham Asylum. At that price they should have sold the vehicles separately. This is ridiculous.

The Batcave looks good, but I'm not a big fan of the '66 show so this is a pass. Plus $270? Ouch! I already want to get the Firehouse and maybe the Brick Bank, so I definitely can't afford this one.

Wow, I love this set! It's so awesome! In every way! There is nothing that could stop me from buying this, nothing at al- wait, what's that price tag say? Yeah, like I said, I think I'll have to pass for now.

My biggest problem isn't even the price tag. My biggest problem? Where...is...Batgirl?!!!!!

I do like the look of the set, even that stud wall. And I did call the fire pole pieces being used! The set looks pretty nice overall, but that is quite very expensive. Almost as bad as the Helicarrier.

This excitement that a much-desired popular female character will finally be available in a set followed by a huge fuss over the exclusion of that one character whose absence is perceived as inexcusable kind of reminds me of something that went down here last year.

Edit: Of course, then it was just one guy carrying on for months on end instead of the whole board expressing their frustration for a day.

I don't know how to feel about that price. Of course it seems like a lot, but then again the set is gigantic. I get the impression that there's more parts inside than we realize. There's also a lot of printing in this set (Assuming it's actually printing and not stickers). The wallpaper in particular impresses me. I don't know, I cringe at that price but I can also see why it hit that price point.

For $270 it's even more disappointing they didn't include Batgirl. For that price she should be in there, new mold and everything. Better yet the Mr. Freeze polybag should be in there too. A few more minifigures definitely would help me accept that price better...

Yeah, reevaluating my thoughts has brought me to the conclusion that this is not worth the full price. Yeah, it's a great piece of nostalgia, but the cave itself has little to play with other than the excellent right side, and the figures can only take it so far. Definitely going to wait for some VIP points and gift cards to make it easier to buy, because, for once, I wouldn't feel satisfied in the end for the price they're asking. I do want it, but it's less exciting to me than the HQ, which packs in a lot more for its price.

Something like this just happened this week with Star Wars Monopoly without Rey. I think the company (Hasbro?) just announced she'll be included in the next game.

If only LEGO did that!

Hmm... I think the price is alittle too high for an IP that is only really aimed at older-timers who remember the show. I see a lot of Classic Batman stuff popping up lately, from action figure and now Lego; so I feel like the license shouldn't be that expensive. Plus, as mentioned it really doesn't pop like other sets in it's weight class.

I was interested in it, but I'm gonna pass at this point due to price.

Am I the only one here who is still going to get it?

I probably still will. Just don't think I can afford it day one which is disappointing because I don't want to miss out on the Mr. Freeze minifig.

The one glaring issue I have with the batcave is the Wayne-manor side on the back. It shows the entire back of Wayne manor which makes no sense. The design pretty much says, Wayne Manor was completely the batcave, and the attic was where the actual interior of Wayne Manor is. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but just a complaint by me.

Other than that, I'll be the odd-man out who actually really wants this set. There's a lot of playability to be had with it. Three vehicles (which are near perfect), nearly the main cast (besides Batgirl which is IMO a little lame and a huge missed opportunity. Especially with her passing.) and a big open space to pose some figs around.

Definitely, not the best D2C, but I don't think it's as bad set.

Although, I just hope it's $170-$250, but if it is $270, I'll still bite the bullet.

I really hope that if that's the price that Lego plans to ask for the set, that a price readjustment like what we saw with the Hulkbuster (from $50 to $30) will be seen. The figures look great (so far), and I'd love to have the classic batmobile. I could justify $120, maybe even $150 for this set, but not $200+. Hopefully the after market prices for the figs won't be too insane (says the wishful thinker :cry_sad: ).

$270 is quite the bummer, especially with the exclusion of Batgirl. Should've figured that they'd include Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson for the famous Batpole bit. Maybe they'll find some means of giving her to us, like a polybag or a movie or something? I think she probably deserved to be in here more than Alfred did, given the show's about half-responsible for her creation if I remember my DC history correctly. Still, I'd love to have this thing. I'm gonna hope I get lucky when my birthday rolls around but otherwise I'll probably have to pass. It's such a shame, too, since this is the only way to get one of the most (if not THE most) iconic Robins of all time, and I am all about that Boy Wonder. :(

So, now that they've covered the 1966 Batcave, let's move to the 1989-batcave and Nolanverse batcave.

The most important thing for me is the dimensions of this set. I really hope it fits my cabinet. The Tumbler was just a tad too big.

Maybe that's what they're doing: $200-some for the '66 Batcave and $15 for the two desks that make up the Nolan Batcave

Okay, for $270 dollars they could've AT LEAST finally given Riddler a molded cane. I've been fairly chill about this for a long time but if you're gonna dedicate this much effort and money into such an expensive set at least take the opportunity to invest in a character you continually re-release. The cane, Robin, and Batgirl would've pushed me over the edge as far as getting this thing.

LOL, yeah, there's not much to be done with the Nolanverse Batcave.

The Keaton and DCEU Batcaves could be great sets (the latter will probably happen soon enough).

Drats! I was really hoping that Penguin would get a newly designed top hat.

LEGO really needs a better top hat mold. This one is getting very annoying.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Some more than occasional printing would be appreciated though.
