Also, just noticed, there seems to be a really interesting texture printed onto Batman's suit, well, the torso peice anyway. I'm a bit curious how it'll turn out looking.

That's just the poster, not the actual print. You can see the same texture on Superman's face.

I hope we will get a set with batmobile from BvS and some kind of Batmans armored suit.

Also interesting, would they release any sets based on Suicide Squad movie, one franchise anyway.

I don't see any reason why we would not be getting the Batmobile and armored suit.

The Suicide Squad set debate has been going on for a while and there hasn't been any confirmation that there will or will not be sets, so I think we'll just have to wait and see for those.

WB is not planning kids merchandise for 'squad.

Lego might include some of the cahracter designs in other sets though.

I don't think targetting collectors and adults necessarily means there won't be any kids merchandise, but maybe my interpretation of that is wrong. Even so, Lego does release some sets aimed specifically at collectors and adults, so I wouldn't rule out Suicide Squad sets just yet.

Making comic based sets with the Squad members does make alot of sense.

Lego picks designs from lots of palces, they dont need to make a spcific squad set in order to use one of the character designs in another set.

Like how the new set pretty much uses the burton/keaton batmobile without being a set absed on that movie.

I don't see why Lego would use the movie designs for the characters, but not tie the sets into the movie; the movie and the comic book designs are much more recogniazle than the movie costumes are.

If they do any sets Suicide Squad related, I hope they're not movie based designs because the film looks so drained of colour. It's in the nature of comic characters to be colourful (and Lego's too), so I hope we get comic Deadshot, Harley etc instead.

I like your thinking. A comic-based Batman set with Deadshot and Harley would be an ideal way to cash in on the movie without making a set directly based on it, kind of like what they've done on the Marvel side with the X-Men sets.

Well. the lego characters wwouldnt have a desaturated filter on them.

Deadshot is red and black.

Harley is red blue and white.

Boomerang, blue pants blue shirt and grey jacket.

Joker has gren hair, red shirt. red lips. shiny sivler jacket.

they have plenty color and flair, they would really pop as lego characters. Their Harley is aalot more colorfull than any lego has ever made.

The comic Deadshot would be a bit more colorful just becuase of the yellow, but new 52 Boomerang is not as colorful as the movie version. Overall, I'd say it's a wash, especially since a new set photo of Joker suggests he will be wearing the purple suit at some point and any new comic Harley would have the blue and red colorscheme.

The reasons I'm hoping for movie sets are 1) comic based sets would have to have a hero or two or three in them taking up the spots of potential villains, with movie sets we could get more villains 2) with movie sets we could end up getting some charcacters, for example Enchantress, El Diablo, and Slipknot, who we probably wouldn't get in the comic sets 3) we can avoid getting yet another Bat-vehicle or two or three.

That would be really nice! Throw in another hero and you've got a perfect $30 set!

Most of the $30 Super Heroes sets only have 3 figures, so what Tragic Banjo suggested seems like a good number to me (although, personally I would switch Harley with Boomerang - I still don't understand why everyone thinks Harley when they hear Suicide Squad and not Captain Boomerang when she wasn't even a part of it until recently and he and Deadshot have been members in just about every incarnation of the Squad that I can know of).

Edit: Messed around with the MoS figure and the hair from the poster.

The hair is definilty off (not really sure what to do to fix it), but it should still give you a rough idea of what the new Superman figure could look like. Something to hold us over for a couple of weeks anyway.

Edit: I changed the hair to be more accurate.

That looks pretty cool!

It's definitely a better piece for Cavill's incarnation. However, I think I still prefer the older mold. It'll look better with the final figure, though.

Absolutly.

Based on the rumor that

Aquaman is only going to cameo as prisoner in a fish tank in Lexcorp's basement in BvS,

I'm going to assume he won't be in any of the sets.

The figs look really nice from the top half, love all the detail so far on both figs! :sweet:

Heavy speculation/spoilers below

I bet Aquaman will be in the sets. First off, a threat arises makes sense for it to be from the water. Cadmus and Lexcorp are of course referenced. Sure, Aquaman may be captured. But I bet he can escape! Not only that, we see a plethora of boats on the BvS set ready to be destroyed. Among this, Snyder called a radio talk show whilst dissing Aquaman on the topic of BvS rumors. And Snyder said that Aquaman's trident can CUT Superman. If that's not evidence enough… It's safe to assume it's near the opening/middle of the movie that Bruce hacks into the Lexcorp computers and sees the footage. Aquaman is in a glass prison by the looks of it. And what happens when the bad guy is in the glass prison? Nothing good. You may say, "But Amanda Waller is rumored to have Aquaman's trident in Suicide Squad!" Well, SS takes place between MoS and BvS, so it's logical that Aquaman can show up in both captured. Then break free in BvS. Another thing is, why would they reveal Aquaman so early? I don't know… Maybe he unites the seven seas to create a threat that Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman must stop.

More speculation and spoilers

I personally think Orm, who has taken over the throne in his half-brother's absence, will declare war on the surface world, holding them accountable for Aquaman's disappearance, until Aquaman arrives and puts an end to the war. But, maybe things will play out like you say and Wonder Woman and an army of Amazons will arrive and put an end to the war. Also, I am thinking that since Aquaman is in a glass tank in Lexcorp's basement similar to A Fish Tale from Superman: The Animated Series that we'll also be seeing some inspiration from that. The destroyed boats definitely point to something big happening at sea anyway.

Hey guys. Can this stick to set speculation and not outright movie chatter? There's threads in Culture and Multimedia for the more media focused discussion.

Thanks

Terribly sorry Peppermint_M! I'll make sure to not speculate about the movie on this thread spoiler-ing it or not.

Anyways, I think it's obvious we'll see the Batwing and Batmobile since they sell oh so well... I'm not betting money on the Batwing being a set but surely the Batmobile will be a set. MOCers have struggled making this Batmobile so it'll be interesting to see what is made of it. Especially the windscreen and how it opens. I think there will have to be new moulds to make the Batmobile. But it should be alright.

I would be shocked if we didn't see those two. I really think the Batwing will be in a $40-50 set with (spoilers if you haven't seen the trailer, and if you haven't, I admire your willpower)

a few thugs and a truck with an expolding function.

I have no idea how they'd work the Batmobile into a set. I am definitly counting on some new molds for the cockpit at least, no way they could do an accurate representation without them.

I bet they'll pull a TMNT. Have some goons and a baddie in a set with the Batwing. It makes sense, and I want to see LEGO shipping containers! Haha!
