I have come to the conclusion that leg printing is the single most overrated feature of LEGO minifigures. Try as I might, I just can't seem to get upset when a minifig with solid color legs has the audacity to exist.

Well, it's nice to see that atleast Mr. Freeze, an exclusive promotional minifigure, has leg printi-

Never mind, well done Lego. :sceptic:

To be fair, given the basic design of Otto Preminger's suit, the figure doesn't really require leg printing.

However, dual molding to represent his boots would, at best, be more suitable.

Leg printing is a nice bonus, but I'm never too bothered about it. I only want it when it is essential to a figure looking good (e.g Heath Ledger Joker from 2014). I also don't like people who fuss over dual-molded legs. The Brick Show are probably the worst. I don't care for dual-molded legs, it's just another colour on the legs which doesn't really add much to the fugure.

So things are looking up for Young Justice's third season (if you haven't heard, Netflix is considering it, so watch as much of it on their as you can to send the message!) so do you think we'll see sets based on that? We did get that Superboy figure a while ago that has a lot more similarities to the Young Justice Conner that it does the New 52 one, and the 2012 Robin head looks just like Dick's from the show, with the smirk looking almost like it was lifted from artwork directly. I mean, if not full-blown sets, I'd imagine at least loose tie-in sets with characters like Aqualad and Kid Flash, right?

Sorry guys, this was more what I wa going for, dual-molds (not necessarily printing). I'm sure many of you have noticed as of late, but Lego has really been slacking on printing.

I believe you're looking for SDCC. They'll be sure to have a great Young Justice figure that only a select hundred will get.

Probably Aqualad, Artemis or Zatanna

Or Green Beetle

I think people have a great reason to fuss over dual-molded legs. Lego has always been able to have hands in minifigs different from the arms in color. It is only natural to extend these to feet. This allows for more convincing boots in figures (like the Batman with black boots, which I love), and the cast in the Clumsy Guy in series 15. Before, any attempt to do shorts on a figure would look incomplete on the back. Take Wonder Woman from 2012 as an example. The back of the legs look red with blue, which does not really make sense.

To each his own, but I think dual molded parts are one of the best innovations Lego has done on minifigs for a while.

Mr Freeze promo in the UK is also in April, over £50 spent on DC Comics super heroes purchases.

So, Mr Freeze will only get added to your bag on Shop At Home if you spend that amount on something specifically DC? If I buy something over that amount that isn't DC (I have my eye cast on Poe's X-Wing fighter) I won't get Mr Freeze with it? :look:

I'm unsure if it's simply wishful thinking on my part, but Kid Flash could totally appear in a future set/polybag in some capacity (Young Justice inspired or not) considering how popular Flash currently is. I would love if TLG gave us some more Flash-related characters! Imagine if we could have Kid Flash, Impulse, Reverse Flash, Jay Garrick...

Young Justice is a fantastic show, so here's hoping Netflix picks it up!

This is something I've noticed upon just recently returning from my Dark Ages. Around the time I left, it felt like leg-printing was becoming awesomely commonplace, with some really amazing figures like that golden knight from Castle. It's extremely odd seeing sets where now, printing seems to be rather minimal. :sceptic: With superheroes in particular, leg-printing really is often important to cement the details of the suits.

Totally agree. Overly printed legs can also restrict the usefulness of the legs in any other position than standing straight up too.

It's in the March/April newsletter on the UK Lego website. "Free Mr Freeze minifigure with any Lego DC Comics Super Heroes purchase over £50". Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're not pulling another Helicarrier / Winter Soldier on us by making it exclusive to the '66 Batcave, but it sounds like a ploy to sell the new £55 Batwing.

I'm sure if Lego had some data that showed that a lack of leg printing or single-molded legs negatively impacted sales, they'd be using it for just about every fig. And I'm sure that they've run some A/B sales testing on it.

The vast majority of their consumers don't care, either because they're 10 years old, or because they're the parents of 10-year olds. And I'm guessing that at least half of the AFOLs who complain about single-colored legs still wind up buying the sets with the figs in them anyway. So if you're Lego, what's the incentive to go through the expense of including a feature that probably doesn't impact sales figures or customer satisfaction in any meaningful way?

I just built a bunch of minifigs out of spare parts, and I was actually kind of annoyed by how many combinations of legs and torsos didn't work together, precisely because of leg printing/dual-molding. It's great if you only intend to assemble the figure as sold. But it's a real limit to the interchangeability of the parts.

Now we're complaining about leg detailing even existing? I mean, I don't see how this new Mr. Freeze would even require any, since this is how this discussion even happened. Some characters like classic Superman might look nice with boots, but he looks just as fine without them. However, there are a lot of figures lately that would be better off with some sort of leg detailing, and we will get better versions eventually, just look at the figures of New 52 Batman, Spider-Man, and this year's Green Goblin.

(I know, how dare I mention Marvel here!)

I'm just hoping nothing based on The Flash TV show is one of the SDCC exclusives this year. Last year it was Arsenal from Arrow, so I'm really hoping Zoom or Firestorm doesn't show up this year.

That would be terrible, especially if it was Zoom - at least if it were Firestorm we could still get a relatively similar-looking Firestorm minifig in a random DC set, whereas with Zoom, he is pretty much exclusive to the CW show in terms of design. If we got a non-CW show "Zoom," he'd be the Reverse Flash and look like an entirely different character than fans of the show are accustomed to seeing.

Unfortunately it is possible that one of those could be exclusive figures, because as far as I know Funko is making Pop!Figures of Zoom and Firestorm this year, so they've probably been identified in the collectables market as figures people are wanting.

I'd just love to see an official CW Flash set. I really enjoy the STAR Labs Ideas set, so anything based around that kind of idea could be amazing.
