wesleydoogan Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Just saw BvS and whilst I can't say I am a fan , the sets are surprisingly accurate. I can't imagine any child going along with convoluted plot though.
psqidexslizer248 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I was shocked that even the forklift was in the movie.
The Lego Nolan Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I was shocked that even the forklift was in the movie. Did it have missiles?
Bricky Dee Williams Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Did it have missiles? No. The forklift appears briefly loading Kryptonite cases into a rig trailer, then the actual Kryptonite interception chase scene unfolds.
retrotaco Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Did it have missiles? Ehhh...they could just be weirdly designed headlights, right?
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I wanna take back anything I've said about the Lego Batman Movie being indicative of figures we might get soon, because this new trailer has made it perfectly clear that they care not for existing designs and are going to make anybody and everybody however they damn well please! I think it's safe to say that 2017 will be the absolute best year for Batman villains ever, though. If they make even half of those guys I'll need a dozen Arkham Asylums just to keep 'em all locked up! Hopefully one of those'll wind up being that Clayface, which was just spectacular and perfect for a set. I'm really hoping that the Lego Batman Movie gets its own wave separate from the DC sets like the Lego Movie did, that way maybe we'll get a whole wave of DC stuff without Batman at all. That'd be an excellent time to start getting more experimental with the characters they include, maybe a solo Wonder Woman or Superman set for the first time in forever (or ever, in Diana's case) or Booster Gold or the Birds of Prey. They'll have a whole line to deliver the mainstream and household names, so why not use this one to satisfy our various and specific desires?

I think it'd be pretty likely for the movie to have its own sets (or at the very least, a minifigure wave), and quite right too; the rogues gallery designs all look phenomenal. But I wouldn't count on Batman not being included in sets. Diana's only likely to get solo sets for her own film.
retrotaco Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I imagine, based on how much they shoehorn Batman into sets encompassing 'DC Superheroes', that it's gonna be mostly Batman-centric stuff if we get sets/series on it. Random question - are there any big differences between the black suit Batman from the Superheroes line and the Batman from The Lego Movie? Like, was it updated for the film?
steveholt Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 pretty much the same body and helmet etc, with new head print
KicktheNitro Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 They look practically the same, really. Aside from the belt, of course. Keen to see if that becomes part of the physical minifigure for any given Batman.
BlockLogo Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Random question - are there any big differences between the black suit Batman from the Superheroes line and the Batman from The Lego Movie? Like, was it updated for the film? Batman was in 2 Lego Movie sets, Dropship and Super Angry Kitty attack. The Dropship Batman is the same as the one in the Man-Bat and Steam Roller sets from the DC Superheroes line, the Super Angry Kitty Batman is the same as well except for the exclusive double face print. (And none of those are 2016 sets.)
PickleManDan Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Anyone notice Croc uses Rancor fingers? I pointed that out on the LEGO Batman Movie thread yesterday. It also looks like he uses the Rancor hands as well.
psqidexslizer248 Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Good news and bad news. The bad news is that the activity book doesn't feature a new exclusive figure. The good news is that anyone who wants a classic Superman can get one with the book. http://www.brickheroes.com/2016/03/lego-dc-comics-activity-book-sera-superman/

He's in like 4 sets now. Suppose if you're really trying to make a Lego adaptation of the Death of Superman, maybe you'd need that many, but otherwise :/

Suppose if you're really trying to make a Lego adaptation of the Death of Superman, maybe you'd need that many, but otherwise :/ It would have been awesome to get something exclusive, but those are geared more towards young kids, I think the idea is that they wouldn't have pre-existing collections, that this may be their gateway into Legos.
Junior Shark Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 that this may be their gateway into Legos. FTFY
retrotaco Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 FTFY lol I will never be able to shake that, until the day I die it'll be 'one lego'/'two legos'
wesleydoogan Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Here's to hoping that Suicide Squad movie won't be a disaster... the BvS batmobile has actually made me resent my lego version a tad for being in such an awful film. My views have definitely tainted my perception of DC in film... once they could do no wrong with the dark knight trilogy... oh those were the days.
BlockLogo Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 BvS wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it should have been AWESOME with a premise like that, and as such, it was a huge disappointment. I do appreciate the BvS Lego after seeing the movie. All pretty true to the source material. I do worry about the rest of the DC cinematic universe movies coming in the next couple of years with that awful Snyder dude in charge. Except for Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad will be great, I think. Not Deadpool-level success, but still great, and I hope more of the minifigures seep into DC Superheroes sets.
retrotaco Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Yeah, I've always loved the multiverse aspect of DC, so if nothing else I'm just happy that the DCEU is creating a little 'elseworlds' Lego set-up for me lol
BlockLogo Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Yeah, it makes collecting a little easier. I focus on the comic/animated movies inspired figures. The classic 1966 figures, dark knight trilogy and MoS/BvS cinematic universe (and Arrow/the Flash tv series, if there are any of those?) figures don't mix all that well with those so they're easily skipped if I don't like them/can't afford them all. I do like the SS inspired ones, so will try to get as many as possible of those.
Joschmidt33 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I don't really mind the different "universes"/versions of characters, because honestly some character designs are better than others. Finally buckled and bought the Bat Cave (or should I have said "caved in"?) I have only built the first three sets of bags but I really love this set. At first I was on the fence due to the nature of these separate components hooking together, but I honestly think it works after getting the Study and Firepolls section done. Plus I finally have Bruce and Alfred minifigs (and Grayson!) although I do wish these characters resembled their comic book parts, but I enjoyed the 66 version when I was a kid so I'm not too disappointed. My minifig collection is nearly complete (in my eyes). Just need those Croc and Scarecrow figs!

So far I've got a 'Classic' collection going, a 'New 52' collection (Batman, WW, Nightwing, Penguin, Batgirl, etc) and then I've got the BvS figures - haven't got any of the TDK Trilogy stuff, and won't get any based on the CW series, but I'd definitely like to get the '66 Universe going...but oh man, that price tag on that set I don't really mind the different "universes"/versions of characters, because honestly some character designs are better than others. Hahahaha I'm too much a fan of the Distinguished Competition to mix and match, it'd drive me nuts. I like taking pieces from my personal collection and making the minifigs look more like their comic counterparts when necessary (like Dick Grayson's hair lol)

I modify nearly every Robin, change plastic man's hair, and even made a Wonder Girl from WW torso, red legs, and Friends hair. If I changed it from blonde to black, it'd go from a decent N52 Wonder Girl to a great Classic Donna Troy, but I need that star design for my girl Donna if I'm gonna MOC her I wonder how much it would cost to BrinkLink all of the 67 minifigs...
Bricky Dee Williams Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Mr. Freeze promo starts at midnight, and that's no joke!
