I like the Croc set, due to the figs being amazing, and the fact that the Bat-Tank is my favourite vehicle possibly since the line released. The Dentures of Doom are crap, but the figs that go with it make up for it.

I for one won't be purchasing any summer sets until I have acquired the Batcave.

The figures do look great but I've no particular interest in the models hopefully any reviews may yet sway me

There seems a pattern with the sets this year, either they have good figures and meh builds, or meh figures and good builds. I guess if a set has good figures, it cannot have good builds. And if it has good builds, it cannot have good figures.

Legosamsonite asked the marvel fellows what their favourite Marvel set this year was so I ask the same thing of DC. What is your favourite DC set this year?

My favorite set has to be the Gotham City Cycle Chase, mainly because I just love that Batcycle.

I nearly agree with you there, but the Batcave is one hell of a set, and both the figs and vehicles are spot on. The Clash of teh Heroes set is great as well, with 2 brilliant figs for a veyr cheap price, along with some pretty rare elements, like the Kryptonite piece and the new Bat-Symbol dish they made.

The BvS Batwing set is incredible, so at least out of the ones already released, I'd pick it. Harvest of Fear may be my favorite set itself, although I'd need it in hand to be 100% sure. For minifigs, I might say Croc's chompers, but this has been such a good year for figs, I'm torn.

I feel like those last 2 sentences are lex BVS references

My favorite set this year is probably the scarecrow set as he is my favorite villain I have yet to get, same with ras, another favorite

Honestly, I like the croc set but probably won't get it because I have 2006 crochet and I love the figure. Guess it comes down to how much I like suicide squad

Yes, they are Lex Luthor references.

This has been a great year, figure wise. We haven't had many re-uses of variants other than Batman from 2015; actually, every single figure other than that Batman is new for this year. That's pretty cool, especially with the kind of figs they are. This and last year have really beefed up my minifig collection quite nicely.

I'm glad we can all agree that this year has been great on the minifig front. It's also gone to show that we won't suffer because of the movies. Granted, a lot of the comic sets we've gotten were in lieu of Suicide Squad sets, but even those were more sets than we'd likely get for just one movie anyway. Here's hoping for another great wave next year, with not just Wonder Woman and League sets, but the general DC sets we all love!

And in my opinion last years were even better!

Really random and so specific that I doubt it'll effect most people, but just in case;

I was visiting family in Tampa, Florida this past weekend, and when I drove through Largo, Florida, I stopped in a Target just to check and see if they had any CMF's for sale - they did, and AS WELL, they had like, no joke, 30 of the Lightning Lad cubes from last holidays - so, yeah, if anyone lives in the Tampa area of will be driving through any time soon, they are there for the taking (I had ~$0 on me at the time I found them, otherwise I'd have snagged a few :/ )

I'm still really salty that these cubes are a US exclusive. I get they aren't meant to be mass sold, but at least make them available elsewhere. I don't understand LEGO's logic these days, where they're selling these cubes in one of the 200 odd countries in the world.

Yeah, seems a real shame that they haven't offered at least the Superheroes minifigs in polybags or some other promotion, especially since so far they've included two non-obscure characters who are needed to round-out pretty popular teams (not that they're exactly cranking out the Johns-era Teen Titans minifigs, but I digress...)

Honestly tempted to go on a road trip just to get one now. Those cubes need to be more accessible. Target exclusive is fine, but actually stock them at all of the Targets, not just stocking a thousand each at like, 12 stores. Treat them over seas like the pre-order exclusives for the games, and send them to another chain exclusively. It shouldn't be such a challenge.

We don't have VAT in the U.S. Of course, we don't have universal health care either. :)

I don't know how it is in other EU countries, but in Poland we are paying additional health care taxes. And VAT also. And social care taxes. And "normal" taxes. And excise taxes.

Batman, help us!

I have about 5 extra cubes if anyone's looking to trade. Just sayin...

As for the quality of the recent sets, I'd say they don't look bad, but none of the DC sets this year have wowed me like some of the other themes, specifically Marvel, since, you know, comics v comics. The builds have ranged from interesting to awful (IMO, OC) and I'm only interested in a few scattered minifigures like Red Hood and Scarecrow. I bought Clash of Heroes solely for Armoured Batman. I may or may not buy the Ra's set. I'm undecided until I see it in person. And while I'm so stoked to see comics-inspired Justice Leaguers, the Reyes Blue Beetle is really really really extraordinarily low on my list.

So yeah, this year, Marvel wins hands-down, for me.

But I am LOVING this Pirate Batman I got a few days ago. Yar.

Yar.

It's never really hard for Marvel to win, especially due to the set ratio over the last few years. Marvel has more of a chance to have better sets since they release more.

Luiggi over on Flickr posted new close ups of that Lex Luthor prison jumpsuit figure. I still have my doubts though.

Back: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/

He also posted a new pink beatarang piece supposedly for a new Batgirl fig. Maybe for that DC girls minidoll series?

The front of the torso has such little detail, yet the back is convincing me... Slightly....

I strongly believe the pink batarang is real though

The prisoner number confirms that this Lex Luthor minifigure is BvS(ftWW )-based, but, like LEGOCity, I still doubt its legitimacy... :sceptic:

Yup, definitely another fake. These figures seem to be made from someone that sort of has their DC knowledge down, yet can't quite design figures up to date with Lego's modern standards. I would've totally believed lex and those other batmen were real. If it were 2006.
