I don't think debating which character could beat whom is going to get this thread anywhere relevant.

Rerailing conversation, do we know a street date for the later sets yet?

well ok but to be back on topic i think these sets are ok and better than the marvel ones. because the marvel ones are all old figures but with new designs. the DC's ones have two characters at least doomsday and Bizarro.

I think it'll be an exclusive to S@H for the first half of July or so.

Well, I guess that means tomorrow's trip to the LEGO Store won't go exactly as planned...

Thanks for the heads-up!

I'm guessing, I may not be right!

In the US at least, Rescue from Ra's al Ghul is indeed exclusive to Wal-Mart and lego.com. This is going to be the case for all MDPs moving forward (at least for a "test period") - all retailer-exclusive sets will only be available from that retailer, and the only way to get them directly from LEGO will be through S@H; they won't be available at LEGO Stores.

Sorry getting a bit off topic here. I'm thinking of getting the sewer smash off either the Lefo Store or Amazon but was wondering whether the double VIP points are done for the year? Thanks in advance

This makes me really sad actually. Gives me less motivation to buy in store. Retail exclusives are usually the best of their waves.

That sucks, as it is target left Canada so I have to buy doctor strange online, now I have to hope my Walmart actually gets ra's, it's kinda iffy at my store. They never got either of the doc Ock sets!

I don't get all this talk about store exclusive sets - it's all available via Shop@Home anyway, so why not just buy it directly from Lego rather trying to find a store also stocking it?

That's my plan. Plus also, you could get a guaranteed polybag (at least the Marvel one, when LEGO can actually confirm when it's out)

I'm too "instant-gratification" and hate buying anything online that I can find in stores.

The idea of sucking it up, ordering it online, and then finding it somewhere (And the rewarding feeling of luck that comes with that), and passing it up because I'm already waiting on one in the mail feels like a kick in the nads.

Plus paying for shipping on top of that is an extra stick in the eye.

That said, I still haven't found Ra's anywhere. Walmart sucks :sceptic: .

If I don't find it tomorrow, I'm biting the bullet and ordering it online.

Same. Lego Store Exclusives were so convenient. If you don't want to go to a Target or Walmart or TRU that carry the set exclusively you would just pop into the brick and mortar store, buy it, and get out.

I really hope these online S@H exclusives don't become commonplace. :sceptic:

I just checked on the Walmart website and it says that a shipment of the Ra's set will be coming into my local store on July 13th. I live on the west coast of the US.

I repeat: I hate Walmart. Drove to 3 Walmarts, in ascending order of likeliness to have it, and come home empty-handed.

Ordered it online, and will probably do so from now on. May as well give Lego 100% of the profit instead of splitting it with the crappiest retailer in America.

And it'll probably still get here before my Walmarts get 'em.

Yeah I refuse to shop there unless absolutely necessary anymore. Like you said I'd much rather have LEGO get all the profit.

I make 3 on that. The only reason I haven't ordered it yet is because I'm in the middle of a move; I'm not even bothering with Walmart.

Well, that's BS. LEGO stores won't be carrying one of their own products? On purpose? From a major theme? That's exclusive to the McDonald's of stores? :damn:

Somebody please smack some business sense into them, and quickly.

That is really strange. However, whenever I can pick up a set early I do. And I did. A Walmart on the other side of town had it for pick-up online so I bought it and went to pick it up. After getting it I decided to browse through the aisle because why not and it wasn't even on the shelves yet.

We're lucky here in the UK. We don't have many bad retailers, well, not ones who get LEGO exclusives. Argos are always great here in the UK (where I believe the Ra's set is exclusive to here), however last year's exclusive at Tesco was a bit of a pain in the megablocks. I had to order it online, and got it around 2 weeks into January, but it wasn't available in-store (in the toys area) until about mid-February.

The Lego Store in the Manchester Arndale have the Ra's al Ghul set in, so not sure it's 'exclusive'.
