J2G, any idea if Batgirl will show up in the 66 set?

I'm hoping we get a more diverse selection of characters from this set. Batgirl really could use another variation. Plus I'm so tired of repeatedly getting Batman and Robin and virtually no other member of the extensive bat family.

Or a '66 Joker, though wouldn't be a completely new minifigure, with his painted over mustache!

I'd hope that Batgirl is in the '66 Batcave, especially after... recent events. It'd be strange, though, for them to make two unique molds that have absolutely no versatility. It's not like they could even make more Batman '66 sets, really, or at least not as many as, say, the Flash has. It makes me wonder how many unique parts and prints we'll be getting in the whole wave next year if our biggest set next year is filled with nothing but new prints and some entirely unique molds. If we get that Deadshot, I woudn't hold your breath for a helmet.

Batgirl and Batman would be the only '66 figs to require new molds. And it's not like they've never made one-off molds before. Look at MODOK.

But, LEGO doesn't produce new molds for D2C sets... :look:

I never heard of that restriction. I thought the mold policy was restricted to Creator and Ideas sets.

Snake in the Kwik E Mart had a new head mold, so expect new pieces for Adam west batman. Bat girl could just reuse the joker steam roller's bat girls head piece. So that set really only needs one new piece.

At least we're finally going to get a classic Dick Grayson Robin suit, pixie boots and all which I can also use for my Jason Todd memorial suit display!

Other than that version of her cowl doesn't match the 66 version at all. The long ears and angry lines around the eyes don't fit at all nor does the overall hair style. Plus I really dislike that piece as it crumples up the cape due to how tightly the hair fits against the torso.

Plus if they make a special mold just for Batman that has no use outside of that one set than Batgirl should get one too.

Why does Batgirl need one?

Also if CMF gets like 10 new head molds then LEGO most prized theme, Batman should get a new mold too! After all he did just get a new one too...

Shouldn't we be concerned with whether or not we're even getting a '66 styled Batgirl before we become concerned with whether or not she'll have a new mold? I'm just worried that we're having a repeat of the Batboat Harbor Pursuit Killer Croc: Bigfig or Minifigure argument (of which I was guilty of partaking).

Yeah batgirl is usualy further down the lsti when it coems to classic characters from that tv series.

She was a main character in the third season and the first representation of Batgirl outside of the comics. I'd say those two facts alone put her high enough on the list to make it into a set.

And I'd be seriously angry if the only female hero in that show wasn't included in what will probably be the only set for the show. She's also one of three heroes featured in that show. It would be pretty short sighted to not include her.

Plus DC would be skewered if they forgot to include her right after making a big push to include more woman in their products.

As I understand, Barbara Gordon was actually created for the show (even though she was introduced in the comics first). Unfortunately, I don't think that necessarily makes her more likely to appear, but it's a neat bit of trivia.

I always loved Yvonne Craig's Batgirl and I am upset about her passing. I sure hope we get her minifigure, if not in the cave, then somehow else, but the mold issue makes me worry.

You guys are really this worried about a D2C set introducing like 3 new molds? If they're going to the trouble of making the Batcave specifically Batman 66', then I don't think there should be an issue of whether or not you'll get more than one new mold. Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Alfred, Joker, and Cat Woman seems like a decent fig selection.

The 1966 Batcave will not be a D2C.

Well that's bittersweet. It will be more affordable, but it won't be the grand 50th anniversary set I was hoping for.
