Has it already been established that there's no possibility of a DCCU Aquaman in the BvS sets?

I can say without a doubt he'll be with us by 2017 when the JL Movie comes out. Along with some WW hopefully.

Hey guys I don't usually follow this topic but I'm really excited for next years wave of superhero lego sets. I have a question regarding the Joker, will he have the new hair piece that Dr. Who has in lego dimensions only in green?

If you know thanks if not that's fine, I've become a big fan of the arkham video games and I want joker that is accurate to that joker.

That would be fantastic! Unfortunately, we don't know for certain what hairpiece the Joker racer will have, although it is likely the same one he's had for the past few years.

That feels like it would only really apply to an Arkham Joker, and I doubt that we'd get even a loose tie-in to that franchise like the Arkham Asylum set now that the series is finished.

Most of the original batman (theme) characters were based off Batman The Animated Series, years after that show finished. I can't see why they wouldn't apply that rule here

The only Arkham figs we've gotten were Mr. Freeze and Robin in the Asylum set. While DW's hair would work well for Joker (and give Mark Hamill yet another minifig representation) I don't think it's in one of the sets we know about. If they made him, then they'd probably have to make a Titan Joker bigfig that could be repurposed for Doomsday...

They never have repurposed Big-figs... Except Hulk with a different pant color! The AoU got a new mold. Green Goblin, Darkseid, Gorilla Grodd all unique molds. As for seeing sets based off the game, I doubt it since they are no longer making them...

They repurposed the bottom half of Darksied for Grodd... or vice versa (of course, the bottoms are adjoined to the tops during production and I'm not sure if there is anyway to take them apart). I suppose it makes production of new figures cheaper if they only have to do new head and shoulders for new characters (the bottom of the AoU hulk would work for Killer Croc or King Shark btw).

Guys go check out Jangbricks DC poster video. There is a pic of Batman and superman fighting on the back of the poster. They are in their Batman V Superman dawn of justice suit. I don't follow Batman has his second helmet mold. Superman has a new torso with blue highlights and Batman's armor piece is from CMF. I don't follow those figures so i would not know what mini figure it is from. Just go check out the video to see anything i missed. It shows superman does not red boots, but he also does not have any leg printing. this may be just the art for it, the mini figure could have leg printing/ red boots.

Yep, we've seen it.

By the way, the Gotham City Cycle Chase has been taken down from S@H

Dang, shut down! But I really want a Superman with boots, I guess the hair is a good replacement.I'm thinking of who else could use it. Maybe a new Robin. Green Lantern could have definitely used it.

Edit: ohhh Cyclops could have had it! I know, wrong forum.

Nice poster, but I doubt these are exactly what the actual figures will look like. Note the old cowl on Batman.

Polywen probably wasn't given the right images or something, I dunno. It looks final.

I dunno, compared to the new cowl, the old one looks appropriately bulky to pull off the armored look pretty well. So we just might see it make a return...

I'm betting they're giving Superman plain legs in the cheapest sets and saving the dual molded ones for a bigger set (Like Batman's boots in this August wave). Looking at the picture a bit more closely Batman's leg printing is pretty basic. Instead of using dual molding for his boots they've printed a secondary color to give the appearance of boots (The coloring seems to match the hip piece, in fact it reminds me of the printing for Electro's legs in the ASM2 polybag). Even worse the printing for the boots doesn't continue onto the outer sides. So this is pretty cheap printing (Scarlett Witch cheap in fact).

Based on that I'd say these minifigures appear in a cheaper set, hence the basic printing on Batman and Superman's lack of boots. I'm sure Superman will have boots in the biggest set of the wave. The dual molded legs don't seem to appear in any set $30 or under.

Polywen I think is just told "draw this" and he does! I don't believe he sees videogame designs or set designs because if you look at a lot of his work it's his own versions of characters. Also if you remember BvS was supposed to come out last year! LEGO probably already had the sets made and back then there was no new cowl... I don't know I'm probably wrong

He's probably given specific instructions for what he's supposed to draw and if it's supposed to tie in to an actual product they'll probably give him some sort of reference for it, I'd think at least concept art of a minifigure. And that new cowl has existed for a while now and Lego plans those type of pieces a while in advance. So unless this was drawn years ago there's not many reasons to use the old cowl.

Plus the Superman hairpiece seems to match what we've seen of it so far, so he must have been given some reference for it.

Just to sort clear things up hopefully, this is a link to Polywen's flickr page, specifically the link to this picture:

Poster BvScolorSmall

He commented at the bottom about 2 months ago a little after SDCC, "I saw the figs."

So I guess this may be some pretty rough, preliminary pics of the figs I guess. :excited:

I can't wait to get my hands on this comic though, I love Polywen's work!

Oooh man, I'm loving that armored Batman. Can't wait to see the final pictures!

According to one of just2goods video, someone asked about firefly and j2g responded saying "I don't think Firefly is happening" so I don't know what to say about firefly now.

Wasn't it suggested that it might be Deadshot? Whether it's Deadshot or Firefly or some third option, I'm excited to see that set!

That's cool. I'm a little skeptical about them being 1:1 translations though. Though the chinstrap might work, Batman's ears are too long and the newer cowl would work much better, unless they opt for a new mold.

I didn't notice the differently colored hips. That makes me think that, if this minifigure is at all real, the torso and legs might be gunmetal, since I don't think they produce hips in that color (Ultron didn't get them, anyway). Just a guess, though.

Does anyone know why Gotham City Cycle Chase was removed from S@H?

Because it's an unreleased set we shouldn't even know about?

They've been taking down all this stuff as I post them. Then I find new ones, too. They're actively updating them.
