I think there is going to be some crimefighting. An article in USA Today mentioned a book where Lex Luthor captures the girls before their exams so...er? Sort of both?

And the theme song states "save the world from crime"

That's good to hear. I figured when they made 2 of DC's biggest villainesses into the "good guys" and then made Cheetah your stereotypical mean girl that villains would be restricted to bland bully roles. Hopefully all their heroics won't simply be revolving around their social lives and education.

Harley's more of an antihero these days, working for herself and the Suicide Squad, but Ivy's not really a good guy at all. Perhaps the show will exceed expectations...but who are we kidding?

Poison Ivy has been an antihero for many years. Most of Batman's female enemies end up "turning over a new leaf" at some point. Cheetah is one of the few villainesses who has never shown interest in reforming (which is probably why they have her in an antagonistic role while Ivy and Harley are "heroes").

Guys we are honestly putting too much thought into this whole TV show/Lego set conundrum. This show is, ultimately, aimed at young children looking for a role model. Young kids aren't going to care if Harley Quinn is a villain or antihero the comics or the movies. If she's funny and makes them laugh they are going to enjoy it. Same with poison ivy, who imagine will be a calm one in the show. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not thrilled for the mini dolls. But until it's confirmed by Lego, just2good, hulk smash or any of the sources, we really can't rat this show out

The discussion of the upcoming DC web-show is veering too of topic; at least when we know next to nothing about the supposed sets that will accompany it.

Let's focus more on the confirmed sets for now.

Just curious - if people are having a fine conversation about something which is admittedly somewhat off-topic, what's wrong with it? I think of Eurobricks and similar forums as simply places to have discussion, not somewhere where we have to all talk about the same thing. If EB has always had strict rules against this then I'm wrong, I just feel like I've been seeing moderators/regulators shutting down various conversations quite often lately.

I think the point is to avoid straying from official information and rumors. If we're talking about our distaste for the show, that's not exactly relevant. But talking about what might be possible in the sets is still on topic. People come on to these topics to read about rumors and official info, not to see a bunch of DC purists hating on a show.

I was asking more why things have to be on-topic all the time, more than whwther or not it was on topic. Can't we just have conversations? If you're not interested in what people are talking about now, come back later or chnage the subject. People only looking for confirmed information can check the original post. Real conversations flow naturally in one place, not suddenly getting moved to private messages (where no one else can join in) or having a new thread made for it (since often the discussions aren't directly LEGO related).

Free conversations are what PMs or separate threads are for. The topics themselves are supposed to stay on track for ease of reading. If there's a lull in conversation, the best thing to do is let it be, rather than clutter it up with unrelated content and disappoint excited readers who think news has been added. It's a bit annoying to keep on track, but it's often more annoying to watch discussion go totally off the rails.

To avoid hypocrisy, I'll say this:

I really hope that Poison Ivy (minifig or minidoll) gets a new/better hairpiece. I'm tired of the 2012 version at this point. Given the Disneyesque art style, I'm almost positive they will be 'dolls, though. But I'll probably end up wanting a few sets, anyway, because the girl-targeted themes do have some gems. I'm sure the high school will be the flagship.

That's what the DC and Marvel Super Heroes General Discussion threads are for

Feel free to post all your random and off-topic conversations there:

So there's news about a new Justice League animated series from Cartoon Network to be aired next fall(2016).I hope it's succefull so we might get few sets based on the show.Hopefully it wont be an atrocity like Teen Titans GO

Here's the link: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/markcassidycbm/news/?a=125657

We wouldn't be seeing any sets for that until early 2017, at the soonest.

Bad news

Not sure if I should say thanks for the spoiler or not, I don't even know if I plan on seeing the movie.

But... it's interesting news, I guess.

Is there a chance that any DC sets will be revealed at NYCC?

I don't think so. I miss when they use to reveal things there. I believe 2012 was the last year for that. In 2012 new York comic con, the bat vs bane tumbler set and daily bugle set were revealed. They really don't reveal anything now. We're definitely getting the official announcement on nexo knights and the official set reveal for doctor who. Other than those two things, Lego isn't going to do anything for superheroes at NYCC.

I think last NYCC reveal was either BIONICLE or TMNT (speaking of which, Mega Bloks posted a photo of their new TMNT sets today. Blah.)

Wish they had a bigger booth.

....Oh come on, not this "Lex in the movie is not the real Lex" theory here too. :hmpf_bad:

Lol, Movie Twitter knows what's up. I don't think it's a spoiler. I wonder if we get anything Lexcorp related, what logo will it be? The Lexcorp building has a different logo than the viral campaign...

I'm pretty interested in the Batwing set too. There's a lot we don't know but a lot we know. I'm pretty excited to see just what exactly LEGO will make with WW, Superman, Batman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor. I don't remember if there was more to it but there could be. This is the only set I'm pretty concerned about, as the rest are fairly straight forward. Who knows?
