Space Police XVIII Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 There will be a new space theme. There will be huge cries of NNOOOOO THIS IS NOT A SPACE THEME MOVE THIS CRAP TO ACTION/ADVENTURE FORUM, too. Quote
danth Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Here Here! Preferably with the variety of great builds and aliens that SP3 had. THAT'S NOT SPACE IT'S FLYING CARS MOVE THIS CRAP TO WAHHHH :D No really though, hopefully we get less flying cars in the next space theme and more SPACE ships. :) Quote
gamejutzu Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Reboot of classic Ninja? Or when Ninjago ends, after a few years, there could be Japan themed sets with really cool castles and architecture. There would be more story then last time, like corruption (damiyo) and samurai minifigs with clan emblems (Edo, Tokugawa). Quote
jonwil Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I want the next space theme to include precisely ZERO aliens. Bring back the human bad guys they had in themes like Blacktron. Quote
alenvprekrsku Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 -Power station, -Power transformers, -Transmission and distribution substation, -Transmission pylons... also I would like to see: -Kindergarten, -Disability organisation, -Same-sex families, -More animal but not in cages, etc, etc ... Ikonhero Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I would love to see a general games and movies theme where they make sets from well known movies or games, but only one set per movie to keep them exclusive (like they did with the Portal 2 set for Dimensions). Some titles that would come to my mind: Movies: Shawshank redemption (escape scene), Oceans Eleven (vault), Inception (rotating hallway), The matrix (lots of possibilities), Cast away (Chuck on a island). Games: Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Half-Life, Stalker. I could think of more, but it will probably never happen because of legal issues, as well as the fact that many of these movies or games would not be very child-friendly, so these sets would mostly apply to AFOL's. But I still think the Portal theme deserves a proper set, like a test chamber from the first game. Also a Classic Space revival would be awesome. Quote
DraikNova Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I want the next space theme to include precisely ZERO aliens. Bring back the human bad guys they had in themes like Blacktron. I'd rather have them have more alien good guys, while adding some more human bad guys as well. It gets kind of disturbing how much LEGO seems to hate having both good guy aliens and bad guy aliens. Reboot of classic Ninja? Or when Ninjago ends, after a few years, there could be Japan themed sets with really cool castles and architecture. There would be more story then last time, like corruption (damiyo) and samurai minifigs with clan emblems (Edo, Tokugawa). Ninjago is an evergreen theme now. It's lifetime is considered to be the same as City, i.e. practically unlimited. So it won't end anytime soon, to say the least. Quote
x105Black Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I wish LEGO would have a proper Space theme, one that goes back to the legendary Space themes of the 80s and early 90s. The Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP! is awesome, as is the Exo-Suit but beyond that they haven't done a GOOD space theme in years. Alien Conquest wasn't too bad but its still not as good as the old themes. And with Nexo Knights filling the "Sci-Fi" gap for 2016, it doesn't look like things are going to get better anytime soon :( The Exo-Suit was a great set, and a great start to a return to Classic Space. Along with some of the Space themed CMFs, I could see a really nice Space theme taking shape. Star Wars wills all of my Space needs, but to be honest, I usually repurpose all of into Castle stuff. And it really doesn't have that Classic Space vibe. By that, I mean the old Space logo you see on Benny's chest, and Blacktron. Quote
jonwil Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Pirates used to be an evergreen theme but it disappeared, NinjaGo could do the same at any time if it stops being popular. Quote
danth Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I want the next space theme to include precisely ZERO aliens. But then who will the GOOD GUYS fight against? Quote
jonwil Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 But then who will the GOOD GUYS fight against? Human bad guys like they did in the old days of Blacktron and Space Police. Quote
danth Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Human bad guys like they did in the old days of Blacktron and Space Police. Sorry, I was being sarcastic and it wasn't obvious. I definitely don't like the xenophobic "aliens are evil" stuff we keep seeing in space themes. Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Your tolerance of xeno filth makes the Emperor cry. I guess I'm saying Lego War40k would be rather nifty also Quote
DraikNova Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I know very little about Warhammer 40k, but I'm pretty sure that the humans are the bad guys. Compared to Nurgle, at the very least. Seriously, though, if LEGO ever gets to the point where it considers Warhammer 40k acceptable material for a theme, I'm submitting a Mortasheen project to LEGO Ideas. The chances of that happening are about as low as can be. Quote
Lego_v194 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) For me it will be nice to see a nostalgic theme section or franchise in Lego like a Knight Rider set with Michael Knight, KITT, the foundation semi, KARR, with all the mini figures able to fit into KITT and KARR. Same with Air wolf, Street Hawk, the Green Hornet (1966 and not the 2011 movie). As you may tell I am a Lego fan second to the aforementioned TV series. Edited November 11, 2015 by Lego_v194 Quote
Lego_v194 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Some one mentioned big scale models with lots of pieces not unlike the tumbler model. Expand on my nostalgic theme, I would love a KITT, KARR, street hawk, black beauty from green hornet, more batmobiles (even the Adam west version), the A team truck, the magnum Ferrari, starsky&hutch red car (ford Torino?), dolerean from back to the future (better than the cuusoo version), the automan Lamborghini, the fall man pick up truck, etc...basically any car/vehicle from a TV show/movie made into a large, realistic model. Plokman Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Sorry, I was being sarcastic and it wasn't obvious. I definitely don't like the xenophobic "aliens are evil" stuff we keep seeing in space themes. I cannot stand Xenophobic themes at all. Sure there may be a race out there that is as friendly to humans as a blarog but not all creatures, Beings, or life should automatically be considered bad. We've all seen what kind of havoc we will create for ourselves if we don't consider our universal brothers. Hmm that being said I'd love to see a good guy alien based off the Flatwoods Monster. It's one of the neater ideas of aliens we humans have come up with. But please Lego for the love of the Infomaniac don't over do the "Greys"! We have them all over in space themes we need to add more life to our ideas. One thing I'd love to see a return of are the UFO and Insectoids races. Lastly for now I would love to see the return of the Hydrozone! The Hydronaughts and Stingrays were some of my fave sets. Sorry for the ramble. Quote
DraikNova Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I just want more non-humanoid creatures to be honest. The humanoid template makes no sense to apply to anything beyond, well, humans. With minifigs as the stand-in for humans, I'd like to see some stranger alien designs. Even if it means keeping the theme's aliens limited to one species, getting an alien design that is, at least in principle, as customizable as the minifig would be a dream come true for me. Quote
Lego Dino 500 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I'd love to see a new dedicated train theme like the 1980s era Lego City and Trains, with signals, rail crossing, signal towers, bridges, buildings, scenery packs, and supplementary cars for the train sets. In the 1980s, you could build a fully functional town with buildings, nature, public transport, cars, trains and monorails. And all the baseplates they included with sets allowed you to piece everything together like a jigsaw puzzle to make a full blown city. Now we don't even receive any baseplates in sets, everything is just a bare building and vehicles. And the train theme is neutered too, with two trains, a station, and assorted straight/flex/switch track every two/three years. A new theme similar to 12V/9V would bring all of that back, with updated building techniques and parts and the marketing to ensure it does well. Quote
Lego_v194 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 A theme called something like Housing or Suburbs: basically the Creator houses at cheap prices. AND WITH FURNITURE! Amen to that Quote
Aanchir Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 There will be a new space theme. There will be huge cries of NNOOOOO THIS IS NOT A SPACE THEME MOVE THIS CRAP TO ACTION/ADVENTURE FORUM, too. Zing! Seriously, I don't see Nexo Knights getting in the way of other Sci-Fi themes any more than Ninjago or Legends of Chima did. Judging from how many "action-adventure" themes and licensed themes include sci-fi elements, it seems like kids' love of sci-fi runs pretty deep. I'm generally quite satisfied with the current range of themes (Bionicle, Ninjago, and Elves keep me pretty happy, and Nexo Knights seems like it might be a nice treat in its own right), but it'd be cool to see a girl-oriented constraction range, possibly as a spin-off of LEGO Elves. LEGO doesn't really have any products that can compete toe-to-toe with fashion doll lines like Monster High or Equestria Girls, and considering how they basically created the market for boy-oriented buildable action figures, it'd be interesting to see what it takes to create a girl-oriented buildable doll. Junior Shark Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Lego Ancient China, and Lego Romans/Greeks. Also more Space themes. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Yes. Space and historical stuff. Why couldn't they do like a classic castle theme, but China or Japan or Greek or Roman style? That'd be sweet. For the China castle-esque theme, you could have like Chinese dragons, other Chinese fantastical stuff. It'd be dope! Or for the Greek castle-esque theme, you may even be able to bring in Greek gods and mythical creatures. Quote
x105Black Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Or just a regular classic Castle theme, medieval fantasy Europe. That would be dope. Quote
BountyBeast Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 It's a shame that the Portal project wasn't approved by Lego Ideas. I would have loved conducting tests on my desk. Quote
x105Black Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 It's a shame that the Portal project wasn't approved by Lego Ideas. I would have loved conducting tests on my desk. But it was picked up for Dimensions, which means that future sets are a possibility. I wouldn't mind that. Playing the Portal areas of Dimensions actually has me interested in playing the Portal games. Quote
