Siegfried Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Oh well, at least we got a new computer out of it - although I'm not totally sure about Windows Vista yet... I heard it has terible compatability. 8-| For the most part this isn't true... but it does seem that way. The reality is that Vista expects software to behave correctly, that is saving files in the right location, not accessing the system files and resources without permission, not using un-official hacks... that kind of thing. Programs that do this will work; programs that don't rely on Vista to correct their mistakes. It's odd that there are any problems as most of these rules have been in place since 1994... Quote

I guess I'll just have to wait and see... my dad hasn't even loaded anything from the backup yet because he's had to get all the important programs installed first. Man, what a mess. *wacko* Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 My Vista is working fine, although i had to get some of my gamer friends to mod it so i could play games made before 1990 something like jaggered alliance and fall out. Quote
Caffeine Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 20 miles (34km) on the bike. Took off 2:30am, got back 15 minutes ago. Nothing like zipping around in the middle of the night for an hour and a half X-D Quote
Stealth Hunter Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 (edited) I used the toilet.... X-D But I also build some houses and stuff for my layout, watched a crappy movie and wrote this post. :-D Edited April 4, 2008 by Stealth Hunter Quote
Brainbox Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 (edited) Today, I travelled down to my grandparents. Nothing happened and it was a rather boring journey all told. We're heading home tomorrow. Yesterday, however, was a lot more interesting. I went on a trip with college to see the Bodyworlds exhibition in Manchester. It's the Gunther Von Hagens plastination one, with the plastified bodies, etc. Really, really interesting, and I strongly urge anyone who can to go. Although, if you've got a thing about death, then it's perhaps not for you. Edited April 5, 2008 by Brainbox Quote
JoeMI6 Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Went into town with my good friend LordT. Bought some Pepsi Max, Mike & Ike and Oreos. Then went down to the park and recorded some video footage for a project. I also got my Mark VI Red Spartan thanks to LordT getting it from Forbidden Planet up north. More recently, watched the Grand National and saw my Mum win £72. And I'm off to a party later. All in all, a very good day. Quote

Corvus Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 How does everyone like my little Mando helmet for my new sign-off? I was trying to make a smiley, cartoon-ish helmet, but oh well. Maybe I'll put little hats on it for holidays. *wub* Quote

X-D I made half the helmet, copied it, flipped the other half around, and then shrunk it. X-D Your brickshelf advertisement? Wonderfully distracting and cool. :-P Quote

Cardinal Brick Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 I stood in the snow wondering if I could ever get a train to work, and if so how the hell to get home. Quote
Siegfried Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 At long last I cleared off Sinnerton and made SiegVille Mk1. Quote
iamded Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 At long last I cleared off Sinnerton and made SiegVille Mk1. Interesting. I did the same thing, only with my Castle display. And different names. ~Peace Quote
Siegfried Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Interesting. I did the same thing, only with my Castle display. My castle area is next! And different names. ~Peace The town had a vote and decided that it could reduce the crime rate if the name was changed. I'll get back to you if it worked. Quote
Corvus Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Went to Mission: Wolf at the Museum yesterday. Two live wolves are brought to the museum, and they go around sniffing and licking the audience as the trainer talks about wolves. I didn't get any pictures, my camera battery died. Here's one from last year. The wolf's name is Maggy. Quote
CopMike Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Pulled an overnighter in Luxemburg. Nice weather and friendly people! On copmike Quote
Batbrick Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Finally got my braces off a couple of days ago! Yes! Freedom! Feels weird now. Anyway, I also had a rather good shift at work, started working on Interactive Apocalypse Part 5 - The Finale, and I'm looking forward to my upcoming birthday! Batbrick Away! Quote
Brainbox Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Finally got my braces off a couple of days ago! Yes! Freedom! Oh, I've no idea when mine are coming off. It keeps changing, as it's realised they've not done as much as was hoped. Today, I did a bit of work for college, got bored, gave up, then spent the rest of the afternoon helping my parents set up the wireless network. Quote

I got mine off after 2 years and a couple of months, they kept taking the wire off and on to check it Batbrick Away! Quote
Zarkan Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 I got mine off after 2 years and a couple of months, they kept taking the wire off and on to check it Same here. Not a fun time it was... Today, I looked in my files to discover that sadly, I lost pictures of not just one, but FOUR bionicle creations. I had suspected this soon after our computer crashed, but I was waiting as long as possible to check. Man, and my Toa Nuparu remake was one of my best ones ever! Good thing that I keep cranking out new ones - just finished Toa Defilak today, and my Toa of Time yesterday (I just knew I'd be making a Time toa using a visorless Kakama Phantoka mask). Quote
Brainbox Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 How long have yours been on? Two years last Christmas I think. So about the same time you got yours probably. But there's still a bit more to do. Well, I think there is. New things to do just seem to appear as we go along, so I've no idea when I'll be finished with them. To be honest though, I don't really notice them all that much. They don't seem to be tightened much each time I go. Today, I nipped into town, then finished some work for college. Wow, exciting. Quote
