Brainbox Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Yesterday after college I walke up to the bus stop with a girl called Jess. In the rain. We both got soaked. And today, we both had colds, albeit not bad! Not that we should be surprised. Also today, I had one of my infamous 3-and-a-half-hour breaks, so I nipped into town and picked up Fantastic Four Adventures #30 and DC Universe Presents... #1, as well as three books from the library. Upon returning to college, I did a bit of Maths hwk, and ended up talking to a girl called Amanda abut a mutual 'aquaintance.' It's funy, you'd think all these breaks'd be really boring, but actually they're mostly okay, as long as I avoid the common room, which has been overrun by a gaggle of, erm, strange people. I get to talk to loads of new people, which is pretty good. And I finally got my timetable sorted out! Yes! Quote
Hinckley Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Today my very nice Swedish friend Ras taught me some words in Swedish! And he knows me so well he taught me one of my favorite funny words: wedgie! Apparently in Sweden, they call it a wedgie...weird, huh? I am realizing this cruel trick is inherently American! But Ras was nice enough to coin a new Swedish term for it: kalsong greppet. Sounds painful, huh? Copmike weighed in with his version: kalsongryck Aren't they nice friends? *wub* Anyway, I thought I'd repay Ras's kindnes by giving him one >:-) : :-D :-D :-D Yikes! That's a bad one too. Have fun picking that out of there, fis-ansikte! :-P :-$ Sorry Ras. I was cleaning and it was time to throw the underwear away and I wanted to get one last use out of it. It can be a pain in the butt ;-) so that will be the last one for a while until the story of the Whacker and the Walrus needs one for "plot." It's good to give it a rest for a while anyway. People will get tired of it and it'll lose it's novelty... :-/ Underwear humor on!! *sweet* *y* Quote
Aredhel Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I was at work again. Not much time for anything else... I think I'll do a bit shopping tomorrow! -Aredhel Quote
Brainbox Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 This afternoon I'm nipping into town to have a proper look at some storage drawer things I saw the other day. If I end up getting them, I'll probably be resorting my Lego a little bit. Quote
captaintau Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Went to a Jujitsu seminar at which Soke forgot to present me with the Instructor of the Year award that he told me I'd won a few weeks ago. Gutted. Quote
Siegfried Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Went to a Jujitsu seminar at which Soke forgot to present me with the Instructor of the Year award that he told me I'd won a few weeks ago. Gutted. Well you still won it didn't you? Congrats... I think! Quote
Shadows Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Dug though an insane number of boxes of random stuff. Found video games, old computers, books, you name it, and then I finally found what I was looking for... My entire pre-dark ages LEGO collection, which isn't as voluminous as I remembered, but still quite a find. 3 gallon ziplocks of sorted colours, an old large sized bucket full of ships hulls and just about everything else I didn't sort and just dumped in apparently :-|, a stack of baseplates (Eldorado, moon craters, old roadways) and my real pride and joy, a big container of minifigs, accessories, and printed parts. This is going to be some serious fun to sort through *sweet* Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 (edited) Today I starting posting on 'Outside the Brick Forum'. The guys there are really nice, and I'd like to see what they think about my MOCs. Don't worry guys, I'm not abandoning you! :-D Today, I'm also bidding on an east german military overcoat to go with my tunic and officer's cap! ;-) I'll let you know if I win! (Not like you care X-D ) ;-) EDIT: Nope, lost it! :-D Edited October 3, 2007 by SirNadroj Quote
Corvus Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Today I ran five miles for my P.E. Class. Got lost, and found my way through the Disc Golf course at the Community College. I didn't sign up for the class- I was bumped into it, but I sure know I'll be a lot fitter by the end of the year! But man, I'm having a hard time getting out of my seat I'm so sore. :-$ I also searched for the model and age of my old copper Conn cornet. I couldn't find the model (on the cornet it says "victor A" but I did find the age- It was made in '49. I'm afraid to bring it to school- both because it's old and it's worth a few good thousand. SN: oof, tough luck. The only peice of WW equipment I own is a Russian WWI tank commander's badge. Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Today I ran five miles for my P.E. Class. SN: oof, tough luck. The only peice of WW equipment I own is a Russian WWI tank commander's badge. oof, tought luck for you too! :-P I own a 29 ribbon bar set, a 12 ribbon bar set from Vietnam, 2x Sharpshooter Badges, 2x Marksman Badges, 2x Expert Sharpshooter badges, a 4 star general pin, air force wings pin, east german tunic, east german officer cap, U.S. officer cap, and a sergant USMC uniform (green). X-D I was actually looking at some Russian stuff a while back, but I never got any. :'-( It's funny. My parents don't care for my lego hobby, but when I want to buy military insignia off eBay, they don't like that either! :-D As for school today ~ no P.E. ;-) but a really hard music test that I passed with flying colours! :-P ......... ;-) And we had to dress up for some spirit week bologna, so our classe's theme was the 70's. Instead of dreesing like a hippi like everyone else, I went as a 4 star general from the Veitnam war! I love loopholes! :-D Quote
Scouty Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 What did I do today? Checked some lights in the school theater if they were okay. All 10 (or so) fresnels were alright, and we left in 10 minutes *y* . Later, I went down to the (City)river to film underwater, it was horrible today. The spot I picked was bad, there was a soda can and even a shoe with a metal bar stuck up it.... I mean, I hope it was a metal bar. :-X !! Anyway, a little bit after, I found one of my targeted creatures, a freshwater eel(as it seems). I spotted him in a hole sticking out, just moving around. 10 Minutes of footage on this guy *sweet* ! Still no footage from water level of one of the most things I want to film: trout minnows jumping from the water, into the air, and back again. I got some good footage of them from up top, but forgot to put Manual Focus on and it kept autofocusing :-( . But I did get some awsome shots of little minnows jumping from the water and back in. *wub* SN: My Father has some WWII Era magazines, they're pretty cool. They're in another place right now, so bummer. Quote
Corvus Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I didn't do this today, but this is a fairly interesting every-day thing. I'm nervous enought bringing my cornet to school, and even more so bringing it to home football (the american version with the oddly shaped ball :-P ) games. This year, our field is gone Why? The school and field were built on an old pumice mine. The school foundation was built safely enough (whew!!) but the field and track were not. Every year the old pumice mine shifted, cracked, whatever, but it left the field with big crevices and holes... Now, the school board decided to fix it permanently, a seven million dollar fix. :-X The field now resembles a strip mine next to our school, with big machinery rumbling around inside it. Why does this relate to my cornet? Now, our "home games" :-| are at rival school's fields. So, the band has to pack up and move all the way to the other school. Now our school is a laughing stock... :'-( Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Now our school is a laughing stock... :'-( Wa Wa Waaaaaaaaaaaaa! ;-) .............. X-D ................ :-( Let's see, it's 6:45 am in my time zone, and I just took care on my bird. She got fresh newspaper ;-) , food and water. Then she took a bath in her water bowl! She refuses to bathe anywhere else, it's funny! :-D Quote
Brainbox Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Dug though an insane number of boxes of random stuff. Found video games, old computers, books, you name it, and then I finally found what I was looking for... I actually think it can be quite fun doing that. You really do find things you'd lost/forgotten about. Today I ran five miles for my P.E. Class. Got lost, and found my way through the Disc Golf course at the Community College. Ooh, nasty. I was really sore today, but that's due to my (rather bad) cold. I've been sneezing really hard, and I think I've hurt my back and my stomach/chest a bit. I mean, it probably didn't help that I walked up to the bus after college yesterday with my friend Jess in the rain. She has a cold too... Today, I didn't need to go into town, so I had to spend all of my 3.5hr break in college. "Never mind," I thought, "I'll do my Maths hwk. That should fill a good 2hrs." An hour later, I'd finished. Hmm |-/ So my friend and I wandered round a bit, messed on the college computers, the ended up sat in the refectory/dining room. He was so bored, that he ended up turning a platic cup inside out, and for some reason we thought it was really funny... *wacko* Yeah, we're like that. Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Today I went to school. Today I found the mass of a peice of Azek trimboard. Thats about it. X-D Quote

UniqueBuilder Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 (edited) Had a really hard day at school with lots of tests and other crap, and I'm not even half-way through a 12-page school project that's due tomorrow. |-/ Seems like it'll be night working for me.. :'-( RedBull and coffee On Edited October 4, 2007 by UniqueBuilder Quote

UniqueBuilder Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 When was said paper assigned? Today or three weeks ago? ;-) Actually it was five weeks ago. :-| :-$ I really need to train my self-control.. I can't resist playing my Wii.. Relaxing.. Visiting EB and heaps of other sites.. All this distracts me from doing what I should do. When I get my next project I might have to leave EB for a week or so. :-| BTW, it's soon 3 am here. Good night! 8-| Quote
Brainbox Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Actually it was five weeks ago. :-| :-$ I really need to train my self-control.. I can't resist playing my Wii.. Relaxing.. Visiting EB and heaps of other sites.. All this distracts me from doing what I should do. It's funny you should mention that. I've already gained a reputation at college as 'the clever one', which means that I keep ending up helping people with homework. Now, that's not a problem. I like helping people. Unfortunately, they keep leaving it till the break before the lesson. So I had half an hour this afternoon to explain the homework to two different people, and get a little last minute Chemistry revision done. Unfortunately, there were 5 people sat at the table, and we all kept getting distracted, talking about films and such like. Actually, no, just films. Plus, my brain wasn't working properly as it was last thing on a Friday, the LRC's really, really warm, and I've got a cold. They just got done in time. Phew! :-D Quote
maiq the liar Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Bumbled through the school day, nearly tried to kill some kid for trying to remove my DS cartridge while i was playing (The teacher's aid stopped me though >.<), came home, played DS some more...Sleeping in tonight, staying up late... babyjawa Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I started posting on here again today. I mostly lurked for the time I've been here, but I decided it might be a good idea to start posting a little. ;-) Other than that, I finally built some sets that were sitting in my closet waiting. (The X-Wing and Sail Barge) I've had them for a year, but only now have finally got to build them. -- I'm building a few things at the moment, but they aren't that good. Quote
Scouty Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I went to a flea market today. I was hoping for Lego: Found none Hoping for 18th century items: Found none I came across some Nazi pins and Nazi knives, they were neat looking, but didn't get them. I walked around and didn't find anything, but then I found something interesting, a bayonet. It was a British WWII No. 4 MK2 bayonet, an interesting buy: Without the cover though. There were swords there too X-D . As well as 1978 Star Wars toys! Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 I love flea markets! *wub* I've gotten some really good, really old lego buys DIRT CHEAP at a local one near my house! One or two of whcih MISB for only 50 cents! I'll probably go to that one tomarrow, weather permitting. I'm always looking for military insignia, too! ;-) Great buy! *y* Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Today I stood up from bed at 6 pm.. Also, I played a lot of Metroid Prime: Hunters.. Really great game! 8- Quote
