"Na'im, they saved us. And the most ironic part about it is that they saved us from Latte Oswain. These Star Elves are not only beautiful but friendly. If they wanted us dead, they could have easily flew away, killed us, or pushed us off the Pegasus. They also are allies of the Guardians so that's a relief. I know you have a crush on Bain and all but come on, at least be open minded with the elves." Mhinak gives Na'im a friendly elbow nudge.

"I never claimed they wanted you dead master Mihnak, only myself and lady Bain. You wouldn't understand...you never lived underground in the dark days following the war...the creed were the queen's chosen assassins. They were the ones who forced us underground really. They made forays into the wastes on there Pegasi and would pounce on any fenari they saw who tried to return to the surface world. And now you ask me to accept the help of these sworn enemies of the fenari! Secrets, lies and deceit-it's all part of there work, they're assassins by trade after all. I don't know what lies they've told you but they'll throw me or Bain off halfway to whatever godforsaken place they want to take us to. You'll have yet to find worse enemies of my people on Olegia!" Na'im says slowly

Na'ims eyes flicker with amusement "there is nothing romantic between me and Bain master Mihnak, aside from our kinship. Things would be very different if we happened to be in dwarven lands and we encountered a female dwarf strung up in street by a crowd of talking trees!"

OOC: I hope you don't mind all this background to the creed I'm putting in PJB. if it isn't consistent with your idea of them I'm sure you could dismiss it as fenarian proporganda

Mhinak blushes.

"Yeah, yer right! I need that to happen some time soon in my life." Mhinak says while beginning to daydream.

Hold on a second. As he checks the "Elves" for anything of use or value. Then pulls out his shovel, but seen Elnath was ready to burn them and just decided to let him do it.

"For our safety, it is not wise to be carrying Star Elves' clothing around when we are obviously not of their kind."

She pulls out her shovel and digs.

Kiray finds another shovel.

"Hisime, I've heard that long ago there was a group of Star Elf separatists who had different ideas than the regular Star Elves. They clashed and the separatists were driven underground to live for ever. They eventually evolved and became the Fenarians. They are related and you guys should make amends and be proud of them. Dwarves have a similar tale with the Dark Dwarves but they are mainly sadistic raiders so it's hard to get through to them. Fenarians can at least be reasoned with. I also trust that you'll help find the Brown Nekrastone since I don't trust Latte Oswain if he possesses it."

Hisime shrugs, still focused much on Bain's every movement,

20211001562_74e9fa4eda_t.jpg

"If it is as simple as what you have just said, dwarf. It is obvious that you do not know everything. You are making conclusions based on the people you meet, in this case a Fenarian peasant who happens to be helpful and Latte, who happens to be patriotically doing his job as a General. I cannot speak for Latte, The Guardians did not choose The Creed to retrieve their heirloom, The Guardians chose you, this is the journey you have to undertake. "

"Finally we are all back together. We ran into Latte Oswain and it was crazy. I was just about ready to shoot his head off but we got saved which is equally as good. You guys seem to be alright so that's good."

18611266988_9220e00d03_o.jpg

"We ran into some fringe Star Elven soldiers, they are weaker than I thought, meatshields perhaps. But we are fine, the artefacts are intact so that matters." Elnath sighs, "I didn't mean to put the whole group in peril, if there is some way I could offload these artefacts to the right people without losing my life and reputation, I would do it."

20224972461_23193dd9f7_t.jpg

"You must be Elnath, The Prospector. I have learnt all about you from Lyrion and Hung."

Elnath's jaw dropped,

18611266988_9220e00d03_o.jpg

"Lyr---ion wha--t?"

20224972461_23193dd9f7_t.jpg

"That is correct. Repeating what I have said to your companions earlier, in four days time, meet Hisime and I at the eastern entrance to the ruin city of Valasabhad, the city nearest to Baltarok and the Iron Isthmus. Do not entertain anyone else other than us. There you will be escorted into the Capital to meet the Queen and return the artefacts and the stone to Her Highness, and there you will be re-united with Lyrion and Hung."

Elnath trying hard to absorb all the information, with the lack of sleep, turns to the party,

18611266988_9220e00d03_o.jpg

"I apologise, it is too sudden, I still cannot get over the how and why. Can anyone explain what is going on?"

He then notices Bain trying to start a fight.

"Knock it off, Bain. They saved us, they're friendly. I can't say the same for Latte Oswain though. Just keep your cool, please." Mhinak says trying to sound as serious as possible.

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"Clearly you do not know The Creed. They are a group of twelve assassins who call themselves the White Assassins and Queen Alphieth's personal guards. They named themselves after the cycles of time, no one knew their true identities except for their sixth, Narie Alphieth, the daughter of the Queen Anairë Alphieth. And what makes them so deadly because you do not know their identities and who you are dealing with until it is too late. So far we only know Narie is the princess. Because of that relation with royalty, what will be more satisfying to hang the head of the Queen's offspring to remind Her Royal Highness what her father had done to my kin?"

"Ah, the things people will do for love!" Na'im grumbles as he gets to his feet after the battel ih the star elf patrol "I hope your fiancee is worth all this toil and pain Bain-and I am intruiged to know what we get at the end of all this" Na'im say his voice dripping with unpleasentlness "Do we have far left to go to the ruined city?" Na'im asks shooting Bain a furitive glance. But he seems more shaken than angry and shortly turns away from the party to stare across the plains thinking hard about his strange dream, untill he is interrupted by the arrival of a flock of pegasi...

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"You will find out. Eckmar is not someone that is ungrateful but he is also not easy to deal with. Not saying he is difficult, but I am sure he will arrange something, for those who are worthy." Bain points to the jagged horizon up ahead against the moon. "Valhullu is only a couple of hours ahead. It is not difficult to recognise the only rock structure that remain in that city."

Bobby hops off the horse and grins. "Aight, you ladies got it!" He beams upon seeing the rest of his party. "Yo! Dope to see you all! Can't wait to catch up a bit once we're chilling later." He eyes the Creed a little anxiously. "Bain, just chill, yo. These ladies are sweet A.F. They saved our megablocks when we got into shiz with Latte."

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"Obviously they didn't save my megablocks when I got into shiz with their pets." says Bain sarcastically, eyes remain fixated on Narie.

Miderun frowns up at the mounted Star Elves, crossing her arms.

"Don't bother with them Bain. We have things to do, and fighting these people isn't one of them. Now, what do you want?"

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"If not for you Miderun, things will be very different by now. But if they do not leave us alone, I will not hesitate to strike first to protect myself."

20211001562_74e9fa4eda_t.jpg

"We know who you are and why you are here, Heroes. And you do not want to sink yourself deeper into this. Do what Narie says and we can ensure your safe passage out of Spesialia. We respect your organisation but doesn't mean we will welcome and bid you farewell with open arms, hugs and kisses."

"So you ran into the person we're supposed to be delivering this seal and magic rock to, and he tried to KILL you?"

20224972461_23193dd9f7_t.jpg

"Wrong place, wrong circumstances, wrong elf. That is all I can say."

"Yo, Mide, chill." Bobby's voice has got a little edge to it. "Like I said, let's just all like catch up later, yo, when we're just best buds hanging out around a camp fire, you dig?" He darts his eyes at the elves, hoping his friend might catch his drift. "These are cool customers, don't worry. We're going to meet them in like four days, yo, so let's just let them bounce and stop bothering their time."

Seeing Bain relax, Narie, turns around and along with her ride, slowly ascends into the night sky,

20224972461_23193dd9f7_t.jpg

"We have no more business with you now, we have other matters to attend to."

Hisime pulls the reins and turns to Bobby,

20211001562_74e9fa4eda_t.jpg

"Don't die."

Mhinak sighs then turns to Bain.

"I know you're not expecting me to say this but I do believe I have misjudged you. Still, I want to bring back the Brown Nekrastone to the Guardians since I still feel they should be the rightful owners of it. No hard feelings?"

Bain nods at Mhinak,

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"I will gladly lead you to it, the scent of the weresnakes are so unique that it is easily recognisable."

And what would happen if don't meet them in four days?

20211001562_74e9fa4eda_t.jpg

"The Seal and the Blue Nekrastone ultimately belongs to the Star Elves. You have travelled far enough to do this, you do not want to waste this only opportunity to represent Heroica and present the artefacts to Her Highness in person." says Hisime, sternly, placing both hands on the daggers.

"I never claimed they wanted you dead master Mihnak, only myself and lady Bain. You wouldn't understand...you never lived underground in the dark days following the war...the creed were the queen's chosen assassins. They were the ones who forced us underground really. "Heroes, if you happen to find the Brown Nekrastone, I will not be surprised with the Fenarians will be the first claim it for their own. Likewise, the Blue Nekrastone, keep close eye on it. Fenarians will do anything for power. They are already living proof of such acts."

Narie turns around, in mid air,

20224972461_23193dd9f7_t.jpg

"Hisime, enough."

Narie bows as she begins to ascend,

20211001562_74e9fa4eda_t.jpg

"My apologies."

How about their weapons, can I take them? They are dead, not like they need them any more.

Or else! Like I really need your "help" getting out of here. Not caring if they hear him with his snarky comments.

Hang on a second, have you "gals" happen to find a were-raccoon most likely near a body of water? You seem to know every thing else about us. We are looking for one.

Everyone seems to want some dumb "rocks". May be I should keep them for my self, and just throw them in a volcano so no one can use them. Obviously getting annoyed with the "rocks" situation.

With his shovel still out he puts it in the ground and leans on it. If we are ready to go, lets try to save someone. Hoping it is not going to take much longer to get going.

I don't expect you to understand. I clearly can't get through to you about Fenarians but, even if their metamorphosis was a mistake, they are a proud race. They were once like yourself but they split away. I am truly disappointed that you and your kin have turned your backs away from them but you can help patch things up between you two. So sure, I may be making conclusions on the ones I meet but that doesn't make them all bad people. Na'im is a Fenarian but he's a good person with an honest living."

Mhinak leans down in front of Inki.

"A lot is going on and it's hard to explain but these two Star Elves, Narie and Hisime, are trying to escort us out for our 'safety'. They understand that I am with the Guardians and they claim to be too as this so called The Creed. But just like Lotte Oswain, I don't know if they should recover the Brown Nekrastone with us. He then turns to the rest of the party.

Bobby glances at Bain, then at the retreating figures, than at Kiray and Mide...

"Okay, yo, so let's do like a checklist of what we actually want to do, you dig? First, we gotta get Bain's dude out of prison, right? So that's one. Then apparently Polly is captured and shiz, so that's two, but we gotta wait for that since she's at like the city. So maybe that's three. So our other two is to find the brown nekrastone so the forest doesn't die, right? So can we do all that shiz? Just one two and three?"

"It's doable, Bobby," the female black knight replies. "Difficult, but we can do it. The thing is, should we go about this one at a time or try to knock them out separately and split up again? I'm against splitting up just in case we come across Latte Oswain again. He's powerful and we need all of us if he decides to not listen."

"A peasant my dear women?" Sneers Na'im at Narie "ha! In my day I was a high cleric and was treated like royalty...how I would love to teach you assassins a lesson in humility...but sadly I would hate to get my robes coated in your filthy blood...and seemingly we are all now on the same side" Na'ims tone makes it clear he is not happy with this arrangement

Na'im sighs and turns back to the party "Very well I shall stand with the party now and I have your backs. But mark my words if I can avoid it you shall not send me on some fools errand to the sealed Capitol." says Na'im continuing to glare at the creed assassins

"Master Germ makes a good piont" muses Na'im "these stones could fetch a pretty price in the bazaars of Salmanda or Strivvi...or improve the lives of a great many poor people in the slums back in Eubric...the piont being if no one in this land can be trusted with the stones perhaps we should take matters into our own hands" Na'im adds hastily

"Lady Kiray shouldn't we be doing our best to avoid contact with this Latte Oswain not going out of our to make him see sense? Party or not I feel I would rather avoid running into a fanatical star elf" says Na'im nervously

She fell quiet, fuming silently while the rest of the party questioned the elves, eventually calming enough to respond to some of them.

"What do you guys think we should do? Leave? I don't think we should. We still have to return the artefacts and find the Brown Nekrastone. At this point, maybe we should give the Fenarians the Blue Nekrastone. Do you think the Star Elves are going to use it for anything better?"

But like I think most of these people are like Na'im like all hooity tooity so you gotta be chill with them and play the game, know what I'm saying? Like no yelling just all 'yes thank you m'am' when the elves are around like obvi we're not exactly doing their thing but like when they're around we just gotta play it cool. So, maybe we could do that, yo. Like, it sucks, but just you know for a bit while we're here?" Bobby blushes nervously.

"But- that's- but their 'game' is just dumb. I've never understood all this talking in circles you humans and elves like to do. Nothing gets solved! Nothing changes. It keeps things from getting fixed, just look at what just happened! Do you think the heroes of Baltarok talked the High Kingdoms into surrendering?" Miderun sighs. "I'm not a very 'play it cool' person Bobby, very few orcs are. It's not even really a custom, it's just, well, the reason we're still around. If Tarokai had just 'played it cool' things would've been very, very different, for lots of people. I mean, these elves have Hung and Lyrion hostage! If that doesn't make them bad guys, I don't know what does. That's the tactic of cowards."

"But....fine. For now. Since it doesn't seem like we can take on all the Star Elves, I'll try and be..chill."

Na'im can't help but overhearing some of Bobby and Miderun's conversation "Lady Miderun have you ever considered that perhaps the diplomacy practised by humans and elves is In the interest of nothing getting done? The last time we went all out...just look around you. We nearly obliterated a continent. Politics may be inefficient and cumbersome but if we-that is to say the Alpieth and my people-decide to settle our differences by open conflict we shall come very close to finishing what we started in the war all those years ago" Na'im sighs and glances up at the stars "It takes a very different kind of bravery to do nothing even when you yearn with all your being to make matters right, but is it so different from bravery on the battlefield? I believe you have both kinds of bravery in you lady Miderun-and if I may say so myself I have never been wrong about anyone before..." Na'im says with a small smile

"Whereabouts do you and master Bobby here know each other from? I recognise that connection between you-it is of old comrades in arms is it not?"

"Maybe, but these conflicts, they are what they are. A lot of people - even some of my own - think this idea is silly, but really, I think the invasion of the High Kingdoms was healthy for most everyone involved." Miderun shrugs. "Things worked out. Now the orcs and the Kingdoms know where they stand. I can't say the same for your people and the Star Elves. I mean, they just dropped off half of our group with the other half, knowing that a Fenarian is going to be working with them to save another. That doesn't make any sense. A lot of people don't have the stomach for it, but fighting it out is just the most straightest way to solve problems. There was nearly a second war almost two years ago, but now, things are very good for Baltarok."

"Wiping eachother out though...I have a hard time thinking both sides would go that far. But you would know them better than I. We will have to do our best to prevent all-out war." The orc nodded in agreement.

"Bobby and I? We've been together for most of the time since we both came here. We hunted a rotten uzardtirn with an island, then bandits in a desert town. We've fought at eachother's sides for some time now."

Mhinak overhears the conversation and decides to join in.

"They might have Lyrion and Hung as hostages or maybe just for leverage. Whatever the case may be, I don't like it... at all. One way or another, we are getting them and Polly back. We lost Toren and he is one too many in my book. I'll try my best to be diplomatic about getting them back since it's more efficient but if they don't want to work something out, we simply kill them."

The Heroes make their way to the city of Valhullu across the wasteland. Apart from the occassional shadow of the shrub that sticks up, there is nothing interesting of note in the middle of the night. It is also apparent that they have shaken off the pursuit of Latte Oswain and his army, for now.

"Alright, let's go! I'm just worried that if we don't meet the two Star Elves in four days, it'll make matters worse. I just hope in Valhullu, there's a marketplace and a nice place to get some grub, I'm rather hungry."

"Vallahau is in ruins master Mihnak. It was one of the cities my people levelled with the power of the nerkastones see if I recall correctly. If any renaments of civilisation managed to survive intact then I would be very surprised" Na'im says shortly

Bain almost choked in laughter at Mhinak,

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"Your friend is right, other than rubble, battered walls, the only place that remains whole is Oswain's penitentiary, rebuilt for the sole purpose of imprisoning dissidents and anyone they deem as a threat to their great race. Officially Valhullu used to be a city in itself. Now with that prison left standing, Valhullu is also known as Oswain's penitentiary, Oswain's playground, Star penitentiary."

Mhinak looks down at Inki.

"I hope it's okay with you that we're going to Valhullu to rescue Eckmar. He can help us find the Brown Nekrastone with Bain."

<I don't like pale skins! But if there is no other way, I hope we keep a close eye on her and make sure she isn't up to any tricks!>

What are you taking about he is a "friend".

The two star elves have already flown out of sight and hearing range, leaving Germ to wonder what it actually means.

"More like if we do meet the star elves in four days there will be trouble" says Na'im darkly hefting his staff "Besides patience my dear Bain. With surprise on our side, we could always ambush the creed assassins at the enterance to the ruined city at the arranged meeting time. Surely you, your imprisoned friend and myself could overpower two assassins with surprise at our backs? At any rate their time will come I am sure." says Na'im with an unpleasant smile

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"My friend, you underestimate them. The Creed is well known for their element of surprise, it is rumoured that if they are onto you, you will be dead before you know it."

"Oh. I figured Valhullu was just like any other working city. I suppose we can scavenge there, I could really use some new armor and supplies."

I am sure we all can.

OoC: Shouldn't the "Carred Longswored" be "if used" not "if equipped". :shrug_oh_well: And if it did break what would be the end results happen to be.

"If equipped" is better. For example, it will still break at the end of the round if your PC equips it and does nothing/uses a consumable/does something else. If it breaks, it is gone/unrepairable and your PC has to choose another weapon to fight with next round.

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"It used to, but not now, then there is also nothing much to scavenge. There are reasons why Valhullu is one of the ruined cities around Spesialia."

Na'im can't help but overhearing some of Bobby and Miderun's conversation "Lady Miderun have you ever considered that perhaps the diplomacy practised by humans and elves is In the interest of nothing getting done? Bain interrupts,

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"I have heard of the war between the orcs and humans. The orcs had it pretty tough but at least your kind had an army to amass. The last time our great Retak Ysp commanded an army against the Alphieth, he had to raise an undead horde to do so. We have been limited in what we have. Starting a war would cripple us even further, in terms of resources, but does not mean we will continue to be bullied by those Alphieths."

Note: Thanks for your patience, major update coming soon...

"Surely Oswain has left some things behind if he owns Valhullu. I'm still going to keep my eyes peeled in case anything catches my attention."

"I hope so too, Inki. She has been more helpful than the Star Elves we met so I feel rather more confident with her than our first meeting."

Na'im frowns "You feel that Taroki's campaign in the high kingdoms was beneficial to both sides lady Miderun? Despite a large number of your race ending up enslaved at the hands of the high kingdoms and the entire kingdom of ennon desolated? Forgive me but I still do not understand what you mean. But better you feel good about the invasion than hold a grudge against the kingdoms I suppose...I thourght I knew how my people and the Alpieth stood once but evidently I was mistaken. Things are never simple in war, and when there is strife you will always find factions who want to manipulate the conflict to their own ends-like our friend Latte Oswain and those within the creed, but we still don't know the full picture of their motives it appears."

"One understands immediately lady Miderun-but pray, what is an uzardtrin?"
