Miderun opens the door to the dungeons, her hand ever on the haft of her weapon.

Miderun tries to open the door to the dungeon, but is unable to. It seems like a key is needed.

"It is locked?" Exclaims Bain, "Where can we find the key?" Bain panickly tries to open other doors as well, but all seemed to be locked as well. "Eckmar! Where are you!" With no reply on the other side of all the doors.

QM Note: Germ needs to go back and pick them up. It is a good habit to adopt.

OoC: I thought it was automatic after ever battle. But just to please you...

After he made sure he had all his "weapons". (Hoping not have to wast time to go back and get them.) He double check his "helmet" to make sure it is on right.

If I am wearing the "helmet" some of the stats need adjusting.

"Control yourself lady Bain!" Hisses Na'im "Despite our efforts in the quarters, I expect there are still sentries around who might overhear you and I would rather that wasn't the case. I agree with master Germ however-our best option seems to be to check the star elves' corpses for a master set of keys-that or try to blow open the door."

"Hold on." Kiray steps back and charges forward, slamming her shoulders into the door with her full weight, hoping to break the lock open.

After he made sure he had all his "weapons".

Germ checks his pockets, and realises that he has forgotton to retrieve his throwing weapons. Hurriedly, not wanting to waste time, he scrambles through the corpses for his weapons. After crawling through the heap, Germ finally retrieves his weapons. As he gets up, Germ looks out of the front door, through the courtyard and realises that it is already morning (of Day 1). As he turns around, he notices that in the middle of the courtyard, are four huge rocks and many others at the side. The rocks seem oddly placed in an open area.

Elnath holds Germ back, and puts his arm around Bain, consoling her,

"It is clear that Bain did not expect this to happen. And clearly she is in distress, asking her back the same question that she first raised may not be the best way to comfort someone."

"We are so close! If I could make a rukus here so that someone opens the door, even sentries, I would have done it. But no, nothing is happening. It is too quiet!" Bain explodes in exasperation.

"I will help check the prison."

Mhinak forcefully kicks the prison doors open.

Mhinak raises his dwarfish legs against the prison doors, only to find that the doors did not budge.

"Hold on." Kiray steps back and charges forward, slamming her shoulders into the door with her full weight, hoping to break the lock open.

Kiray charges at the Dungeon doors only to find herself creating a loud bang against the doors. The doors did not even budge, but shortly after, the ground begins to grumble and vibrate for a couple of seconds before dying off. From where Elnath stands, having a direct view to the courtyard, he squints his eyes briefly and turns to the party,

"If I am not seeing things, those rocks in the courtyard does not seem to be decorations. They seem to be holding down something. Like a paperweight or something."

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"Does it matter? We need the keys to these doors!" snaps Bain.

After getting back his "weapons". He double check the corpses for any thing else useful. Looking at the "big rocks" he wonders if it is some sort of "temple". Maybe Na'im would know what it is for. I will have to ask him about it. He said to himself.

 All I am doing is trying to give a possible solution, Elnath. I will quickly check it out.

"Those rocks may be the key to opening this door," Kiray points out. "If we could carefully arrange them in some fashion, there could be pressure plates they sink on to open the door."

"Maybe those are some magic rocks. Do elves use magic rocks?"

"I dare say it is possible master Mihnak. My estimate is that these rocks date from the days before the schism when Valashara was full of life and light, but alas although I can remember when a happy day spent under the eaves of the city, I cannot discern their purpose. Still, the set-up reminds me more of a kind of arena than a temple-and what is the point of an arena without an opponent? We barely prevailed against Oswain's lieutenants back in the quarters, and we are in no condition to fight another battle with a foe we do not even understand, and the Fenari and Alpieth were never the sole-or indeed the strongest-powers in this land. If my word counts for anything around these parts, then I strongly advice we do not attempt to shift these rocks-there has to be another way." Says Na'im cautiously, eyeing the rocks suspiciously

He double check the corpses for any thing else useful.

Bain did not seem to care about the rumbling, only focused much on opening the doors and finding the keys. Bain follows Germ and rummages through the corpses, checking and double checking each one, but did not find anything that is of use.

"Ugh... where else?" Bain growing visibly impatient and makes frequent glances at the morning sky.

"Those rocks may be the key to opening this door," Kiray points out. "If we could carefully arrange them in some fashion, there could be pressure plates they sink on to open the door."

18611266988_9220e00d03_o.jpg

"Or maybe just some simple, plain old fashioned keys that I can fit in to these doors." Elnath shrugs.

"Maybe those are some magic rocks. Do elves use magic rocks?"

The ground grumbles and shakes once more, and the rocks rises ever so slightly again, this time with the courtyard ground and then returns to where they were when the rumbling stops.

"Perhaps, perhaps not. But they really seem to be weighing down something."

Miderun digs around in the pockets of her new vest for the key.

"Maybe this is part of why orcs don't keep captives. Jails are complex and stupid," she snapped in frustration, attempting to push over one of the four rocks.

"Good idea, Elnath. Try using some ordinary keys. I would be damned if that worked... still, it doesn't hurt to try."

Mhinak rips his shovel from his back and begins to dig around the stones with the others.

"No, no, no!" Says Na'im frantically and scrambles away from the rocks "What on Olegia are you doing-are you so quick to forget master Germ and master Mihnak's encounter with those statues? You should know better than to dabble in matters you do not understand around these parts-Spelesia is not like your Baltarok or Uland it is much older and much more dangerous!"

"If age was an indicator of how dangerous something is," Kiray said to the Fenarian with a look over her shoulder, "a girl I knew who is younger than me should be around one hundred. Ennoc, she was deadly."

"As it always is with the young" says Na'im sagely, but still calling over a great distance "They fly so high and for a brief while they are indeed at the top of their game, but always time gets the better of them and they are forgotten or die tragically, but power-true power lady Nayasto-surely lies with those who have survived long enough to see the passage of the ages and one thousand or more victories under their belt, would you not agree?"

After returning o the others. Looks the doors over to see if the locks could be picked. Then pulling out his pickaxe and saying: I could always try my "universal key". But before he starts to rip the hinges off the doors, he use his Magnifying Glass to look the doors over.

Germ finds that the hinges on the doors are sturdier than it seems. As he inspects the three doors over with his magnifying glass, he did not find any traps, and finds that the doors well crafted and put together with top quality wood and materials and well reinforced with combination of metal and stone to even withstand the force of a battering ram. Additionally, as he inspects the keyholes and their make, he concluded that only one key is needed to open all the doors.

Miderun digs around in the pockets of her new vest for the key.

Miderun runs her hands over the vest, besides admiring her her armour, she could not find any key.

"Maybe this is part of why orcs don't keep captives. Jails are complex and stupid," she snapped in frustration, attempting to push over one of the four rocks.

Bobby follows Miderun's lead, shoving another one of the rocks out of the way.

Kiray digs around the rocks and the surrounding areas.

Mhinak rips his shovel from his back and begins to dig around the stones with the others.

Miderun, Bobby, Kiray and Mhinak entered the courtyard. While Elnath, Naîm and Inki stayed in the second chamber and Germ, Bain in the first.

The courtyard is covered with a mix of gravel and sand. Bobby and Miderun with all their strength, pushed away two of the four rocks to the side. Kiray and Mhinak shove their shovel into the ground. They find that both of their shovels hit something dull underneath and that they only go as deep as three-quarters of the head (of the shovel).

Bain overlooking all this, calls out to Naîm and Germ,

18923192224_d4fb984a01_t.jpg

"Help me look for the key in the Quarters." and hurriedly opens and enters Door 4.

As soon as Bain enters the quarters, the ground begins to rumble again, the ground did not rise this time.

Miderun, Bobby, Kiray and Mhinak, in the courtyard, could hear that it is more of a grumble and the sound originates directly underneath.

Na'im returns to the quarters with Bain and Germ, and, careful not to step in any of the pools of blood, inspects the bookshelf, the map and counters on the table (including checking underneath it for the keys), and the helmet in the alcove with a detectives eye
