samurai-turtle Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "Bait for... more talking fish?" Lyrion raises his arm, revealing a small crack inflicted by the Merfolk earlier, "No thank you Hero." "We can land anywhere, but we don't want to be seen as intruders, nor do we want to be misunderstood as one. And we need to have a vessel to return home with, so probably North East of Spesialia." Elnath points to the cabin below, "Please, do as you wish, I believe the cabin is spared from the mess we have out here." Looking at the "infection". You might want to clean that out. And don't call me a "heerooo". Is their some sort of "settlement" we could start near? They might let us park the ship near by. "Things became complicated as of late. Lots of things changed. My most recent quest involved a great deal of paladins. And that way of life is not for me,they weren't efficient and too much infighting." Yea,but a "Black Knight" I would think you would be a "Warden" or something else. But, I guess it is not always about personally. But what you think you can do and how well you can do it. Quote
Zepher Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 "Yo, Miderun, that's a good call!" Bobby pats his friend on the back. "He'll be aight, don't worry. They got no reason to kill him, know what I'm saying? Won't help them get the stone, yo." Quote
Purpearljellyblob Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) "Would you be willing to stay and guard Hung and Lyrion, Polly? I don't want to lose anyone else." "No problem." Polly nods at the Heroes, "Help me look after The Prospector, do not lose sight of him." She goes forth and hugs Elnath, "Be safe." "I am not a kid, Polly. I know how to take care of myself, besides with six skilled Heroes with me, what can go wrong?" Looking at the "infection". You might want to clean that out. And don't call me a "heerooo". "A crack is a crack, doesn't bother me if I can help it, He--" Feeling his cracked arm once more. Is their some sort of "settlement" we could start near? They might let us park the ship near by. "Might not be that lucky, Germ. The Star Elves are known to be hostile, it is not ideal to get off the wrong foot with them before we even make it to shore." Turning to Hung, "We'll anchor here. We've reached the North East of Spesialia, a couple of hours off Fenario by land. We can make shore by foot, the waters here should be shallow enough to waddle through. Lannisters, Polly, stay vigilant, the ship is far enough for you to spot any incoming threat inland, should that happen, release the anchor and sail off to Baltarok and identify yourself as traders, there you should be safe." "Your wish is my command." Hung lumbers towards the bow and effortlessly hurls the iron anchor off board. As the party prepares to disembark, Lyrion approaches the cabin and hammers on the door repeatedly, almost beating the cabin door down. "Wake up, Naîm. I hate to interrupt your sweet dreams but your dreams has become a reality right now. We've reached Spesialia." As the party gathers at the shore after three days at sea, they are greeted with the luscious vegetation that thrives by the coastline. The trees and shrubs glisten under the afternoon rays from the sun. The Heroes look left and right at where they are, the vegetation appears thick and dense along the coastline of Spesialia, forming a natural barrier against storms and preserving its shoreline at the same time. The Heroes could not ascertain how far this natural barrier extends inland, but it is certainly no wasteland or ruins. "If I am not wrong, this should be the forest surrounding the dome and the capital should not be too far away from here. Remember Heroes, we are here to return Shadir Oswain's seal and to protect the Nekrastone until we return it to its rightful owner(s), whoever he, she, they, it may be. And perhaps any sign of Toren's body if he washes up the sho--..." He didn't dare mention his thourghts to the party, for he knew how they reacted to his plans, logical as they were. The forest was unatural, and seemingly hostile. If they returned the Nerkastone, they would just be giving it more power it already had, and who knew how it would react, especially to him after all the damge he had done? He simply wasn't prepared to relenquish the temporary power they had over it (after all it needed the party to track down the nerkastone, so they were stil useful to it) . I assume you were talking about the Naga's though?" Responding to Mhinak, <Tell your friends that I know the difference between were-snakes and nagas! Nagas have tails and were-snakes don't!> Inki raises its chain, <Pale skin lady, one, your green friend (Miderun), two, your other humanoid friend (Kiray), three, and another lady with the were-snakes, four! She is fairer than your other humanoid friend (Kiray) and wears long flowing outer covering, I just assumed she has two legs, since I couldn't get under that thick cloak.> Inki snarls when it hears about Germ's proposition about eliminating the were-snakes, <Silly-putty! Not even our guardians can stop them from stealing the life-source that keeps this forest alive, and your friend is ten-times smaller in size! And if you do not already know, and I am not supposed to tell strangers anyway, the Treemaster's Heirloom is the Brown Nekrastone! That's all I know and if you want to see the pale-skinned lady on display, she is not far away from here! I can bring you there!> Bobby is first in awe of the forest, and then in awe as Mhinak starts to purr. "This is dank," he says. He sees Na'im swatting all over the place at the forest and rolls his eyes. "You shouldn't mess with shiz, yo. Nature is chill." Tis more complicated than that master Germ." says Na'im shaking his head "I have heard many theories, but the one thing they all have in common is that the energies released by the Nerkastones had an even more pronounced effect on the creatures that survived the initial destruction, which gave them strange powers and latered their apearances-much like it did to my peole." Kiray pockets her new gold and carefully skirts her way around the cub to Elnath. "How dangerous do you think this cuddly looking creature is?" Elnath speaks in a low voice, "The forests used to be more vibrant than this. From what I had gathered, the Brown Nekrastone gives the power of regeneration, and without it, the forest has no life force. And I agree with Naîm, the powers of regeneration has its costs, perhaps mutating some of the resident creatures in the process, otherwise they are harmless unless provoked. I have heard stories. There was once where the forests extend far beyond where it is now, until the war between the Star Elves and Fenarians destroyed most of the fertile land. The forests were neutral in the conflict, but once The Guardian of the forest, also known as the Treemaster, found the Brown Nekrastone and attempted to regenerate the forests to its former glory, it attracted the Fenarians' attention. The Treemaster and the other guardians it had appointed defended against the Fenarians time and time again, until that fateful day, when the Fenarians sent a massive undead army at the forests and towards the Star Elves' capital. The Treemaster and the guardians couldn't hold off the undead, and were to the brink of defeat. Fortunately, the Star Elves came to their rescue and pushed the Fenarians back underground. Since then, an alliance was formed between the Guardians of the Forest and the Star Elves. The Guardians protected the Brown Nekrastone and the Star Elves patrol the borders of the forests." Turning to Kiray, "I do not think these creatures are dangerous unless we threaten their existence like those Fenarians did to them." Upon hearing germs translation, Na'im sighs "It appears the naga have pocession of a least one of the Nerkastones then. I suppose we had better go after them. Master Mihnak, I seem to remember you saying on the Eyrie that your mechanical eye allowed you to see great distances. I don't suppose you would mind climbing onto the decking up here and seeing if you can see the fleeing Naga?" Mhinak climbs up a tree and gazes into the distance, looking for anything peculiar. She grabs the dwarf by the back of the shirt to try and stop him as he heads for the tree. Mhinak attempts to look towards the East while making its way up the branches, but his gaze was disturbed by the sudden thug from Miderun. Mhinak did not manage to spot any were-snakes or nagas, but could only make out two armoured humanoids facing a tree that moves from time to time. Getting board waiting for the others to decide what to do. He decided to play around with his shovel. Germ decides to shove around, and finds a bottle of venom. Inki growls, <Mhinak! Tell your friends to stop digging! If not you will end up like that pale-skinned lady! I will show you what will happen to you if you continue to do what you do!> Inki leaps into the dense forests and leads the party into the forest. <There she is! So stop digging or you all will end up like her!> From a distance, the party could see a pale-skinned humanoid cocooned up in spider web. Some wriggling could be seen, with occasional noises coming from the cocoon. On the forest floor, dryads could be seen tending to the dying flowers and vegetation, seemingly ignoring the cocoon. At a sudden, the party caught the pale skinned humanoid's attention and gazes at the party from afar with her blood shot eyes. The humanoid begins to wriggle more violently and make louder noises, this time the party could recognise that the voices are feminine. "Help me" A soft muted voice coming through her hood. <Mhinak! Tell your friends to stay back! Pale skin's awake! I will call for help!> Inki widens its jaw, preparing to make a loud growl... What will the party do? Quote
