Kai NRG Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 (edited) Location: E01 Tags: Exploration, Science, Spaceship This is Guy Wynd, pilot. Do you read me, Dr. Danielle? Loud and clear Guy. What's the status? Incoming on E01. Yellow rocks, red landscape. Preparing to land. Copy that. Are you able to get any samples? Samples? I don't like the sound of that. Last time I was asked to bring back a sliver of this massive transforming vicious alien creature... Yeah, I remember that actually. My assistant was claiming you brought back pure rock. What's that? Nevermind, I'm landing. Okay... *Hello, this is Octan cleaning services, how would you like your laundry today* Oh, brother. Talking Laundry machines. What's next? Excuse me? I didn't catch that. Yes, er, I was saying, this time you need to get a sample. And then something about talking? Yeah, er, *medium wash cold process starting. Please add soap* Augh! Dumb machine! I'm getting the soap! What's that? Are you in the Utility room? Yes I am! Oh. Well I'm still waiting for instructions. You are my branch executive you know. I told you to get a... By the way, I had this really good idea... Here we go again. ...that you know what, First Branch Executives really shouldn't have to do their own laundry. I mean, I bet Lord Business and CEO Shmails aren't doing their laundry! Which means you'd like me to... Find a sample! Didn't I say that? Oh. I was hoping for some other sort of instructions. Well, as far as I can see the only thing to be had here is a bit of biomass... wait, hold it. There's one of these crystals that looks like it's a little bit differently colored. Get that one. What? It could explode! Get it! I'm approaching... I don't know... are we sure we want to do this? ... Andromeda could go up in smoke... I'm getting closer! ... Are you sure... Yes! I'm s... *beeep beeep machine overload. Please remove some of your laundry. Thank you.* Oh come on, this is Octan! We should have bigger laundry machines! ...have you got the crystal? Um... not yet. I was kinda hoping you'd forget. I don't forget anything... *it would seem you have forgotten the soap. Please add soap.* As I was saying, I don't forget anything science related. Okay, I'm getting closer... getting closer... this could be the end... Dr. Danielle? Well, have you got it yet? Whew. You're still there. You'd better message Farmolis, just to be sure nothing happened on some remote planet. You got the crystal?! Sure did! Still waiting for it to do something... Huh. I didn't really expect you to. Looks like just a off colored biomass crystal to me. No need to bring it back if you don't want to. What?! You mean I went through all that mental trauma for... nothing? Most mental trauma is pointless. Thanks for the encouragement. Right-o. And now that you're done with that, I'd like a few samples from Wastyria, Jen's Star and Zimunsk, Arium Major, Lesser Drigo, and I've really been wanting a bit of asteroid dust from the Fascini cluster. Maybe the last one could wait for tomorrow though. Wait... what on... okay, I really am not sure I get this... and you're over there doing laundry?! Man, these executives are sure living it up! Oh yeah, that reminds me. Soap. And don't let me forget about getting the CEO to find someone else to do laundry for us. ...Are you headed for Wastyria yet? *sigh* I really need to move up to branch executive. I'm on my way... Alright! Signing out! Another shot of the main build. And an overview of the laundry room! Well, I think Mantis's awesome showing has been making us all up our game... you guys are really playing it strong! For scoring purposes, note that this is the same little vehicle I used earlier. C&C appreciated as always! Edited June 20, 2015 by Kai NRG Quote
rodiziorobs Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 (edited) Hilarious story, and I like the bright colors of the landscape, they work well together and make it look otherworldly. The laundry room totally fits the part, too! Edited June 20, 2015 by rodiziorobs Quote
Jody Meyer Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 HA this is well played out, nice rocks, great colors and adding Dr. Long in was a great tie it. Are you photo editing Dr.long in with Photoshop? Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Neat landscape, but the laundry room steals the show for me. Love the use of car doors for a cupboard, and the hamper is great too Quote
aeralure Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Great story and photographs. Nice touch on the comm plates. I like the landscape and really enjoyed the I enjoyed the inclusion of the laundry room. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Loving the technique used on the laundry bin. Very nice parts usage. Awesome work altogether my friend. Quote
mrcp6d Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 There sure is a whole bunch of cool stuff to look at in these two small builds! I think the laundry room kind of steals the show here with all the details it has (the hamper! ) but the landscape is a great MOC too! The dark tan vein is really, nice with the masonry bricks. Quote
shmails Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 My favorite parts are the tree and the octan logo inside. Great work! Quote
LittleJohn Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Hilarious story! Great builds too, the red tree is really neat and I love the laundry hamper Quote
Kodan Black Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Loved the story! I thought the landscape was really well done and the laundry room was fantastic too. I'm glad MANTIS is making us all up our story game. Quote
Garmadon Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Ha, ha, excellent builds and story Kai, the yellow and red look good, and the laundry room is great as well! Quote
kabel Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Haha Kai, you're such an awesome story teller (always been)! But the landscape is pretty cool too! Man am I lucky that I'm in another Octan branch! Quote
Kai NRG Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Thanks guys for all the comments! I'm really glad my story was such a hit! HA this is well played out, nice rocks, great colors and adding Dr. Long in was a great tie it. Are you photo editing Dr.long in with Photoshop? In the first picture, yes. And in the little squares, there too. But a slightly differently dressed version is actually in the laundry room! There sure is a whole bunch of cool stuff to look at in these two small builds! I think the laundry room kind of steals the show here with all the details it has (the hamper! ) but the landscape is a great MOC too! The dark tan vein is really, nice with the masonry bricks. Thanks mrcp, I think I stole the dark tan right off David's build... Quote
David FNJ Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Haha, that's great! I too am a fan of the laundry room - especially the hamper. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Ha! This is wonderful! the lauded room is my favorite aspect of the build! The brickbuilt Octan logo is an excellent touch! the ground on E01 is wonderful too! The reds and yellow rock really contribute to the alien feel. Also I love how you captured Dr. Long's apathetic behavior towards her employees. She's a busy woman. She can't afford to do her own laundry when there's so much science to be done, paperwork to sign, and expirations to oversee! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Big Sal Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Hahaha, hilarious story! I love how nervous your character is! Don't know if you deliberately used old and dirty bricks for the laundry room, but they actually make it seem much more realistic! Quote
NuckElBerg Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) Great story, landscape (really love how the colours blend together) and laundry room (cool use of the windows and rubberbands to make a... laundry basket, is it?)! Totally agree that M.A.N.T.I.S. upped the level of storytelling in the game! Edited June 22, 2015 by NuckElBerg Quote

Thank you! Hahaha, hilarious story! I love how nervous your character is! TheUtilityBelt Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 The story is awesome! I also tried to use the washing machines and then remembered cyborg parts don't wash well. Quote
