shmails Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 ---------- Start Log ---------- i have landed on Arium Major, near the coast of the Northern Continent. The rocky shoreline seems to spill out into the sea. Water is easily located and it should be very simple to set up a supply line here for our plans moving forward. My time is almost up here, but the coastline looks too inviting not to explore. I have busted out the HoverJet 4000 (part of my severance package for stepping down as CEO), spotted some interesting looking pink and red crabs hanging out on the rocks just off shore (mmmmm......crabs!!!), and am thinking a little campfire might be a nice way to spend the evening. ---------- End Log ---------- More, larger photos here: https://www.flickr.c...157654812565462 Enjoy! NuckElBerg Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Wow! Nice waves and beutiful SNOT rocks! However, I think I'm going to imagine them as floating rocks in the clouds instead! Quote
Mike S Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Superb build! Never seen water built with that color but it serves its purpose perfectly- looks very turbulent... And the brown rocks compliment nicely! Quote
Kai NRG Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Those rocks are really well shaped! I also really like the touches of color with the crabs and seaweed! Quote
David FNJ Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Those waves are excellently made! The rocks look great too, and those crabs are just adorable! Quote
mrcp6d Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Really beautiful dio shmails! The waves are just perfect and the rocks are well sculpted to evoke the impression that the ocean is eating them away from below. Quote
shmails Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 @NuckElBerg - I like that too, thanks! @Mike - Thanks, I first saw SlyOwl use it, he is one of my inspirations and I always wanted to try it. @Kai - Thanks, glad you like it! @David - I love the crabs, thanks! @mrcp6d - Thanks, it took a few tries, the first few were not so great. @Graham - Thanks man, the fact that you enjoyed the scene makes me happy! LittleJohn Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Gorgeous landscaping! The brown rocks are superb and I love those little crabs! Quote
Garmadon Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Fantastic build once again shmails, the water is excellent and the SNOTted rocks are superb as well! Very nice hover craft and little crabs! Quote
LucasLaughing Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 That water ... Awesome little speeder too! Did you plan this out on paper before hand to get the waves right? Quote
Kodan Black Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Another impressive build from you! The turbulence by the rocks and the sprinkling of color on them set against an otherwise more flat color scheme really helps draw the eye! Quote
shmails Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 @LittleJohn - Thanks, brown was the only color I had left (really need to break down all the old builds!) @Garmadon - Thanks, I really like the hover craft too! @Lucas - Thanks so much! The build was very organic, I started with a wave in the middle and worked my way out to the sides. It grew as I worked. @Kodan Black - Thanks, I felt it needed something to balance the gray water. @Aeralure - Thanks! Quote
Space Terrapin Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Wow! The wave effect here has to be the best I've seen, and why has using light grey for water never occurred to me? Fantastic build, again! Quote
