Hey all! Here is my latest MOC: Broken Spoke Gold Mine. This is my first WW MOC. It is based on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disney. There is a mine cart which can roll along the tracks onto the bridge over the little river. The buildings are supposed to be literally built into the mountain. I used a transparent baseplate for the stream/river to give it a shallow effect. The minifigures include a Cavalry Colonel, A Prospecter, and the mine owner (in the black). There is a small crane/pulley, and those thing that have the water in them. The name slips my mind, but that is on the left side. There is also a big, green cactus. Warning: Image Heavy! ;-)

EDIT: Nvm. I saw the pics on MOCpages. That is really nice Lordan. Try making a vig with some miners looking for gold in the water.

Beautiful MOC! I love how you built the buildings into the mountain, and the water slough is *wub* !!

I only have one complaint, and that is the cactus; that 1x2 ridged tile seems out of place.

Absolutely wonderful, the organical look and the fine proportions of your MOC

Another amazing work of art from the great Sir Nadroj! I am particularly interested in the different shafts on the upper part; how are the roves attached? As Asuka pointed out, the sluice is a really nice, an excellent addition to the scenery. And most of all, the colors are wonderful. The tan and dark tan with some added brown create a perfect dry, dusty desert atmosphere. For a first Western MOC, I think it's your best MOC yet!

It's a shame Lego doesn't have a trans-tan color; that would make really cool water......And about those miners - they mine already minted coins embedded in the rock? :-D

Nadroj, this is an excellent first WW MOC !!!

i like the use of a clear baseplate... its real effective. and the many faceted overall shape of the mountain/building is very nice, im especilly fond of the upper landscaping, and how it plays against the man-made structures. oh, and the mine enterance is very nice... it looks much better than the mine enterance of 6761 ;-)

i do think the cactus is a little questionable. and 007 bring up a good point... maybe the 1x2 chrome gold tiles (though expensive off of BL) would be a better choice ???

and my personally preference permits me from liking the verticle brown plates that hold up the water sluice and the carved flat sides of the MOC.

Looks good, the multi angled roofs, transparent streams, and water chutes are all excellent! Now if only it were bigger ;-) Especially brilliant considering it is your first foray into a new theme.

Nah, even those look unnatural with their perfect rectangular shape. I think the best bet is the little sprue that you find connecting the four coins when you first open a set. I've saved these myself because they make good gold nougats, perhaps Sir Nadroj has as well. A couple chrome round 1x1 plates or maybe even an oriental dragon head to go along with the sprues would be nice as well.

Wow, I'm really liking the idea here, especially with the Big Thunder connection.

I'd like to see larger portions of the actual ride, to be honest. Maybe add some elements inspired by it, like a small shack, various bones for decoration, one of those small windmills you always see out in the old west, thinks like that. Just some additional set pieces.

Coins found in a mine isn't such a bad concept. Perhaps they've discovered the hidden loot from an old stagecoach robbery or raided Spanish treasure shipment out of California.

Oh, and for some crazy reason I like that huge cactus. They can get very large and it's got a nice shape. Maybe add some of those short LEGO scrub looking bushes and some random studs as rocks.

I hope you'll continue to expand this, it's something LEGO would never make, but I'd love to see.
