General Magma Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I agree they look better in olive green but what about the black lines (printed coat) ? Depends if someone would be OK with painting things. I've recently made two groups of Rohirrirm soldiers, they're at the bottom of this page: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72967&st=25 I made custom helmets, painted arms, legs and heads (and torsos, for some), so unless you're a purist, I think that kind of customization would be best for Rohirrim. It would also be easier to apply lots of diversity to them that way. Quote
OrcSan Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Your figs look damn good and it's not the first time i saw them, i am not prepared to paint them thou ... I will get a knight and show a pic of him finished :) Quote
OrcSan Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) I made this from a second hand chest (kingdoms) , changed with green hands, and equipped the guy so it will look like a rohan soldier. What do you guys think ? Edited March 8, 2016 by OrcSan Quote
Oppl Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 A while back I acquired a bunch of custom LOTR figures. Some of these were just printed torsos (such as the printed Gondorian Ranger torsos), the rest of which I had to build from parts. Others were fully-assembled minifigures (like the Witch-King). Here they are in their full glory... Haradrim Archer / Haradrim Chieftain / Lorien Elf (Helm's Deep) / Gothmog Gondorian Spearman / Gondorian Swordsman / Gondorian Ranger / Faramir Eowyn / Rohan Royal Guard / Gamling Arwen / Celeborn / Witch-King Rider of Rohan / Rohirrim Standard Bearer Obviously there are a ton of custom prints and moulds here, but things like the Rohan Royal Guard, Lorien Elf and Haradrim are easily created without the need for any non-Lego pieces. Piecing them together was great fun and I think they look pretty good for what they're meant to be. The Riders of Rohan too are a fun wee combination of parts. Fully-loaded you can have a single rider equiped with the following - quiver, sword, spear, shield, cape, sheath, helmet. I think they look great, personally! Good luck with your customisations. HawkLord Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Those are some great customs! Rohan is probably the easiest and maybe most fun to pull off from existing parts and as a less organized group, they don't really need a uniform look - just general colors. The CMF line has lots of good parts to use, as well as the last Castle line - which can be found for cheap. Quote
OrcSan Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) Wow , i'm very impressed by your figs , especially Haradrim Archer / Haradrim Chieftain / Lorien Elf (Helm's Deep) / Gothmog and Eowyn Were do you got that haradrim faces ? Custom figs are great too but its mindblowing when i see figs made out only from existing lego parts. Edited March 13, 2016 by OrcSan Quote

I actually recommend checking out this topic since it has some great purist LOTR/Hobbit customs using only existing Lego parts: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=104200 Has anyone tried extracting the textures for the character models in the Lego LOTR/Hobbit games? I'd imagine they would also provide a good source for customs here. Edited March 21, 2016 by wesker Quote
Lord_Tyrannus Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Wow,loved your custom minifigs, especially tilda, Sigrid and the lake town soldiers! Quote
AmperZand Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) Using a combination of mostly LEGO and a few third party pieces, it's also possible to MOC/modify existing characters. The hobbits below were MOCed long before the LotR films (with a few small changes since). Gandalf the White was created using a SW torso (I've since replaced the silver lightsabre element in his staff with a white one). All have been yellowed including Galadriel's and Elrond's ears, and Galadriel's neckline. Edited March 21, 2016 by AmperZand Quote
Ardelon Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Nice, especially the staff and the men of Laketown. But the older daughter should use normal legs, I think. What torso did you use for the girls? Quote
