Hard to find suitable adjectives for this build *huh*:oh: ... :excited:

I guess I'll start with the overall look, and layout of the build: the huge fortress in the back draws the eye nicely, while the winding path, lovely house, and wall (such amazing use of chairs!) all fit together perfectly

Now onto specific buildings, the fortress is simply magnificent. So huge yet detailed, even on the inside! Your unique texturing, and battlements look superb, while the crane up top is a sweet bonus.

The pillar designs on the first floor, and furniture throughout are beautiful  Wonderful use of dark green for various tables and chairs, and the micro map is really neat.

The barracks looks suitably sturdy, and the combination of dark bley, dark red, and reddish brown is gorgeous. Incredible roofs, and the side stairway entrance is quite clever.

Genius parts usage on the interior stair case too

The craftsman's house looks so whimsical, I love the heaps of stuff leaning against it, and the chickens are a great touch.

You packed tons of fun details into the whole model, like the kid rescuing a cat, and lady sweeping.

Also, you managed to include tons of Mitgardian sig figs! Wonderful build, one of the most impressive GoH MOCs ever :sweet:

Of course it's amazing! So big and still so detailed. What also amazes me is the price of these MOCs. I have about 24000 lego pieces and that was expensive. But this... absurd.

So much praise could be said for this absolutely intricate construction/work of art. I'm not sure I could narrow down my favourite aspect of the build, but I love that bed, and how you used those colourful flags to tie the buildings together. Amazing the level of detail for the amount of time you've had to build it! Just WOW!

This is one of maybe the top 5 Lego castles MOCs I've ever seen. Easily. There's not greater accolade than that, when EB's castle-building community is full of such titans.

Absolutely spectacular build Gunman, if the first picture is a bit deceiving as to size the rest speedily correct one! *huh*:oh: Lovely job on the tower, the brown and dark green accents throughout the build are superb, all the fantastic interiors and the strings of flags add a lot to this build! Beautiful photography as well, Mich is quite honored to take part in all the activity! Fantastic part use everywhere, it would take e forever just to find all the brown chairs in the build!

I'm stunned. Wow. You did a really, really good job, and I'm staring at this in disbelieve. You did an extraordinary job on this, ever room, detail, everything. I personally really like the sword dummies, their not even close to a major part of the build, but I thought it was cool how you made them. I also really like how you did the flags, all combined and different colours, it looks really good. Great, great job!

Whoa! This is not what I was expecting when I clicked on this post! This is amazing! The layout, the detailing, the size... you have a TON of dark orange.... While I'm not quite a fan of the tile designs in places, I love pretty much everything else! Awesome work!

I think this is one of the best examples of "Feast your eyes". I kept looking at all those details, and of course this topic is picture heavy. If it wasn't we couldn't see all the fun stuff going on and all those wonderful things you've created, like the attention to all the furniture. I also like the contrast in colors of all the different buildings, which works perfectly. It also helps that your photo's are insanely good!

I surely hope you'll stick around here to show more of this stuff!

Spectacular creation! This is a marvel to behold, all the details and techniques you used deserve all the praise you have gotten

Glad you like it Steph :)

Magnificent build Gunman. It's simply amazing the level of detail. So much fun to look at, very well done :classic:

Thanks mate :)

That's a big castle! How many bricks did you use? And nice furniture

Hehe :) I have no idea TitusV but I used many many 1x1 plates also :P

Wow, wow, wow. As I said on flickr, this creation is just Wonderfull. There is so many details, so many mini figures, and all of these room are just beautiful ! And do you see this river *oh2* ! And the soldiers, inside and outside the fortress are beautiful ! The backstory of the MOC is awesome too !     . The Landscape is so beautiful too   And I love the mini-Landscape

Guy, awesome work here. Congrats !

P.S : I think you had take me in you creation (with the Robin hat) But I'm not sure ?

Thanks a lot for your kind comment Brick Man Studios! :) I guess you men the guy on the walls with the balista? He is mrcp6d.

I'm not sure that there a language in the world that could do this justice! Probably my favourite Moc of all time! It's great to see more of Eusomos!

Wow thanks a lot for your complimentLV... Really appreciated

Why You always need to build so awesome stuff? :P

I will not write how amazing it is cos You already know.

So starting with the bad sides.I tough I will never finish scrolling :P /NAh that's still good thing.

The only thing coming to my mind right now is that the floor, stairs and the furniture in the tower are all the same color. You could work on it. :) Probably tan floor or furniture would be better as now they become "one".

Are you going to keep the MOC or you will make something new from it ?:)

Thanks a lot Stelario!Glad you like it! :) When working at this scale I have to take some decisions regarding the stock of colors I have and in which buildings I gonna use them.. Regarding the main keep I wanted a wooden floor and the furniture wooden too... So I went for reddish brown for both

OMG!! :wub_drool::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: [...] :thumbup:

An incredibly beautiful and detailed MOC!

Just superb, thanks for sharing. :sweet:

Thanks a lot my friend!

That is one highly detailed, impressive fortress. Just fantastic work!

Thanks a lot Tomsche! (I really wanted to make your sigfig too but I dont have that rare visor... )

I was going to write something that is appropriate to this masterpiece, but words fail me....

Just WOW is about what I can say right know...

Congratulations, buddy, on one of the best MOCs that I have ever seen. Speechless!!

Such a compliment from a top builder like you Ces...

WOW! Congratulations on making something truly awesome.

Lots of really nice details, for me especially the staircases stand out as they are absolutely gorgeous

Thanks a lot Puvel!!

Detail everywhere! i love the furniture and the gate walls! stunning work!

Thanks a lot Kevkipo!!

Wow!

Really not sure what else to say apart from perhaps 'what a lot of chairs!' - so many different ways of using them - great work!

Thanks dude!!

Amazing work

I love it. The texturing of the wall is perfect and the way you made the roofs is awesome. Moreover I really like the colour scheme and the interior

Thanks a lot Balbo :)

Superb work! It's one of those MOCs I've shown to non fans of lego and had them go wow.

its fantastic not just in scale but in the details. Just as much care looks like its gone into the items of furniture than has gone into the architecture.

Thanks for sharing! So much to look at and learn from.

What's the bit your most proud of? Anything you feel could be done better?

Thanks a lot TuftedDuck, glad you like it!

I really like the mosaic at the throne room (maybe because it was annoying to handle xd),the bases of throne's columns and the gatehouse. I was lazy to rework the rockwork outside walls and its not so good imo. Also I could work the walls a bit better regarding the texturing but I run out of 1x2 log bricks (dark bluish an dlight bluish) and 1x2 "grille" bricks.

Wow! This is absolutely fantastic, love how much detail you've put into it! The size of it is epic and the amount of texturing and attention to all the little things really takes this to another level! Some really brilliant piece usage here, and all the interiors are really well thought out! Great use of color too to keep each section visually separate!

Glad you like it Kai!

Wow! Absolutely amazing  There are so many beautiful details and lots of interesting building techniques. So much to discover. I'm speechless.

Thanks mate :)

Paranoiaaaaaaa!!! Awesome as always!!!

Thanks a lot mate!:)

Wow, so well done. One of my favorite details is also one of the simplest. The colored banners strung from the keep are great!

Thanks a lot pogie!!

Simply breath-taking

I think I can see my sig-fig in two of the photos (probably unintentional, but an Easter egg for me!)

Hehe :) Thanks mate!

Thanks a lot talex!

A gigantic, beautiful, highly detailed expert-level build. You have much to be happy and satisfied with here. One of the best LEGO castles I have ever seen.

Thanks a lot Gary!! :)

Wow! There is so much good in every corner of this MOC that I don't know where to start :classic:

You've definitely managed to maintain a high level of detail which I enjoy and despite that scale it to a build of a massive scale. Keep up the good work!

Gunman, my man... Just when I thought real life events had grabbed you away from us, you produce this stunning piece of art... Easily the most beautiful, detailed MOC I have ever seen. Very comparable to the epic Streets of Barqa by Gideon. I am tempted to by a ticket to Greece right now just to catch a real glimpse of this amazing work.

I am glad you included so many photos as I stared at each one long and hard to catch every detail. I apologize for being behind with my comment, but it took several days of viewing this MOC to truly appreciate the amount of work you put into it. Each and every detail is finely crafted and composed. I wish I could list them all but I would be typing here for days!

There are a few I have to mention, however. The overall composition of this build is just stunning, with the little village up front, the river, high defensive wall and the massive archery fortress behind. The colors and architecture are just brilliant, and each little detail has that personal, "Gunman" touch (though I don't see as many barrels as I have come to expect! ).

As far as little details go, the flags are such a wonderful touch. It is the micro model of your entire scene, however, that caused a tear to form in my eye. Like any piece of fine art, this really touched my heart.

It is not often you see a build with such stunning detail on both the macro and micro levels. You are a MOC Expert no doubt, a true genius with the bricks!

Your photography is also unsurpassed. Your photos are perfectly lit and composed and really make this wonderful MOC shine.

I would love to go on and on, but I think I will go back to viewing the photos above and appreciating this fine piece of art and craftsmanship. I hope you have plans to take this to as many shows as possible, because this is certainly rocking the LEGO castle MOCing world!

Hats off to you my friend!

Wow. Just beautiful. Indeed it is pic-heavy, but such incredible detailing requires lots of photos. I'm not complaining.

After viewing it all I truly believe this is one of the all-time best, on par with Gideon's Barqa, MassEditor's recent island and some of Ecclesiastes work. "Superb" doesn't even do it justice.

Few specifics have been mentioned thus far - perhaps owing to the overwhelming attention to detail. Long critiques being my trademark, perhaps I should take the plunge.

Let's start with the obvious. It's a very nice layout with good use of color but it's incredibly deceptive in those first few photos. It's quite a bit bigger than it first appears - and when turned, the interior details just jump at you like a pouncing lion. The architecture is lovely inside and out and the wall textures are splendid. I like the various stud orientations - especially the upside-down arches on the bottoms of the windows. The main floor in the big building looks marvelous and must have required marvelous patience as well.

The spiral staircases are brilliant but the other details aren't far behind. The four-poster bed is lovely with its arches, gold swirls and potted feet. All the accompanying furniture looks perfect in brown and dark green. The microscale layout looks great on the big table. The glass-encased sword from PotC is a wonderful idea. (Btw, how many of those do you have?!) The other sleeping quarters look pretty standard but the oval windows are excellent. The kitchen looks serious - a bit dark, a bit cluttered, but just what you'd expect in such a location and ready for anything with that massive grill/oven.

The workshop is lovely as well. I'm happy to see someone using the new saw. The chimney makes great use of parts and the tendrils of droid-arm smoke are briliant. The structure itself is nice in that shape and those colors. But my favorite part is the huge pile of stuff sitting out back. So many builders want to prop a solitary wheel against a wall and leave it at that, but this has just about everything and really forces the viewer to focus closely. That is a sign of good building and detailing. The barrel tree is interesting and all the chickens pecking in the dirt are nice touches as well.

The waterway looks realistic and the covered crossing is nice. The crane is brilliant and the stash of weapons and containers is as good as the workshop scene. All the different minifigs and their respective accessories really liven up the setting. The broken bottle in the back alley makes me cringe but it's so much better that way. The street performer looks appropriately funny and makes the best use yet of what is otherwise a silly head. And the long streamer of flags is a unique and colorful feature. I could go on and on but I'm getting too lengthy.

If I had just one criticism it would be the relative plainness of the dark orange plates in the courtyard area. The color is very good but there isn't much detail. But, like the mole on Cindy Crawford's face, when it's surrounded by such beauty, it just doesn't matter.

Spectacular, fantastic, terrific - what else can be said? Excellent work, Gunman! Keep on building!

Thank you for saying so many of the great things I was too tongue-tied to say myself!

Posted

Simply amazing work Gunman. So many details, such scale and both in the classic Gunman building style we've all come to expect. Each building, heck--each room, could easily be a great MOC on their own. Together, this is just plain special.
