July 20, 20159 yr Am I the only one who thinks that outriggers on this set are almost completely useless? They don't really work and they take up a lot of space. When I get this set I want to make the tipping bed pneumatically actuated, remove the outriggers and place all the pneumatic switches there instead. Ideally I'd remove the gearbox and add another motor with a switch to operate the turntable. That should make the whole set a little easier to play with...
July 20, 20159 yr Am I the only one who thinks that outriggers on this set are almost completely useless? They are not. They are very stiff due to parts used (new racks and big red parts). And they are really necessary as the vehicule is entirely suspended. Without them, the model is very unstable. Simplifying the model is good thing, though. Is a comment like this really necessary? Never underestimate the power of sarcasm.
July 20, 20159 yr Is a comment like this really necessary? sorry Jim! The crane is not heavy at all, so no stress for the pneumatics! we have many different examples of heavier cranes that were actually lifting little weights. When it comes to lifting the main problem is in the joints and levers, not rare they popped out or got broken! That's purely becuase the pneumatics are too stronge compared to the fragile arms! infact a more robust and heavier arm would be better!

And yeah I forgot the whole deal with suspension, that does make sense!
August 4, 20159 yr Hey Jim, I've got the instructions for the B-model! Although it is not published on Lego yet, a lovely lady from Lego customer services has provided me with that. Can you make a review of it too? Here are the links: http://cache.lego.com/r/service/-/media/franchises/technic/products/bi/b%20models/42043BDigitalbi1240.pdf http://cache.lego.com/r/service/-/media/franchises/technic/products/bi/b%20models/42043bdigitalbi241472.pdf
August 4, 20159 yr Author Hey, I think lots of people will be happy with the instructions for the B-model! But I don't feel like reviewing the B-model at the moment. Now that we have the instructions, someone else will probably be building it soon
August 4, 20159 yr Skimmed the instructions... At least you don't have to disassemble the cabine and the crane..
August 4, 20159 yr Thank you very much for the model B instructions. This B model looks very good, I just may be tempted to build it.
August 5, 20159 yr Someone built the B model and changed the cab section to red :) Edited August 5, 20159 yr by kisper
August 5, 20159 yr @kisper: You don't happen to have a link for that someones red B model, do you? ;-)
August 8, 20159 yr Can someone make pictures/instructions of how to place the hoses perfectly??? So that the air flows very well, that the crane moves excellent and that everything fits? Please share pictures, I want to rebuild the crane.
August 11, 20159 yr Awesome review and the photos are fantastic. I just picked up an Arocs at my local Lego Store the other day and am looking forward to the build. Thanks for taking the time to create and for sharing your review, it is greatly appreciated, Edited August 11, 20159 yr by Technic Fan

August 11, 20159 yr Changed opinion. EDIT: sorry guys I had a bad day :( Edited August 20, 20159 yr by JJ2
August 12, 20159 yr Nice review but this model is just so ugly to me (I know I am going to get a lot of hate for this) I think the new parts are nice but the crane arm is HIDEOUS looks wise, there is no airtank so the pneumatic function are slow, and the wheels are WAY to small and it would have been a great time to bring back the 5571 tires. I would get this if my budget wasn't so small, make it, and then tear it apart for parts. I'm kind of confused by your comment. You say that the model is "just so ugly", and then you say that the crane is "hideous". Then, out of no-where, you complain about the pneumatic functions. But you don't point out the flaws that you see with the rest of the model (cabin, bed, frame, mudguards, etc) or any of the strong points that you see with it. So I'm curious if you believe that other aspects of the model, besides the crane, are ugly or not? Edited August 12, 20159 yr by John Daniels
August 12, 20159 yr Confusion all over. If his budget allows him he would buy and even build before he uses the parts. If it is that ugly, why the build. I think it is great with a great b model and cannot wait to build that also but for me it has to be a red cabin.

I'm also not satisfied with the look, is not looking bad but Lego building is also about modifiing... So I modify the front to match the real Arocs or my virtual Truck mix of MB, MAN, Iveco, Scania and Volvo... :D :D :D Max.. :*
October 17, 20159 yr Just got this since there is 2xp love the numbered bags on larger sets since I do not have alot of space. Thanks for the review. Edited October 17, 20159 yr by LEGOMAN132
December 21, 20159 yr Author Is 190€ new a good price for this set? Depends on where you live. It's a bit steep for The Netherlands, but it's not ridiculous.
December 21, 20159 yr Is 190€ new a good price for this set? Well, just 10€ And if you found that in the Internet, you may have to pay more for the shipping.
December 21, 20159 yr No the shipping is free, it's still not a good price? That's the lowest price i found though
