VintageLegoEra Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Just as I told before, you have choosed the exactly suiting colors and parts, therefore it Suite so good that you would believe it had beendet allways there. Thank you Very Much Mate!..:-) I will do so when my LEGO urge to open this misb overcomes my rational thinking! Hehehe... Meanwhile i am still acquiring all sorts of tidbits to make this set more beautiful :P The way i see it, until then, i will be practicing to make a decent uploadable MOC for ages :P Ahhaa..i thought it is already built. Then in this case, it will be a long time till we see photos..:-)... Enjoy and mine 10210 also stil NIB.. Quote
Redbeards_Rum Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I have always made additions to the sets. I have the Imperial Flagship and the Brick Bounty at present and have made additions. Imperial Flagship: Increased its Cannon count (purchasing more), fitting the Captain's cabin with Globe, Drinks Cabinet, Chair and Navigation Equipment, and Violin. I've added a Crew quarters just foreward of the Galley. This includes a bench and table with food on. I've added further rigging and a Boarding Store. (This includes further weapons and grappling hooks) Brick Bounty: Likewise, kitted the Captain's Quarters with Globe, Drinks Cabinet, Pirate Portrait (from Sea Cow) Added cannons. Made a Boarding Store Forward. Made a small open air Stove/Grill for our illustrious cook to work at. Then there are my modifications to the Soldiers Fort (See the MOC page!) Quote

Redbeards_Rum Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Would love to see some pics of your mods if possible. I will get some photos done over the next few days. (I'm away with work.) But glad people want to see this. Agree..Photos :) What I do enjoy about this hobby is that people are always intrigued. Even those with no interest in Lego, people love the details in Lego sets. Which is partially why I add so many details. I am, and some AFOLs will shudder here, intending to share and play with my son when he is old enough to do so. Which is partially why I am increasing the cannon count, as well as adding crates full of cannon ball pieces. What I eventually intend to do is play a tactical/strat game with him. (Nice and simply, fire a cannon on a dice throw. If it hits your opponent, you lose a point, move on a dice throw, board on a dice throw. etc) All good fun. I love it Quote
Southwest Chief Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Recently I "improved" all my imperial soldiers with decorated shakos and bayonets. Not exactly a set, but they all came from original sets. That was a lot of decorated shakos I had to tract down to equip all my soldiers. Way back when I was a kid actually playing with my Legos I added ship names. Here is Hispaniola (Skull's Eye Schooner). Edited August 26, 2015 by Southwest Chief Quote
parksroad Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Love this thread! I added a modular deck to my BSB set. I'll see if I can't find any pictures; the set is in storage for now... Quote

Yes, please upload pictures! My own modifications to the Imperial Flagship (10210) can be seen Here (original post here). I believe that the changes I made to the bow, kitchen, and balcony are the ones I am most proud of XD. Also I am currently trying desperately to redesign the crow's nest to be more sleek and appropriate, while still maintaining its function. Any one have any good ideas or suggestions? Quote

Capn Frank Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Such simple additions make the set so much more complete. Although it looks like a lot more work would be involved to complete the (new) fort. I mean how is an imperial supposed to put a pirate in jail, or shake hand with the gov'ner? Quote

ClassicLook Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 (edited) Hi everyone, I'd like to share the improvements of my Renegade Runner. I can't afford to buy the SES, but I wanted to add some parts and minifigs to the RR, that can be seen on the SES. I didn't make big changes on construction, I wanted to stay at the original design. I look through some topics and building instructions of other LEGO ships for ideas. Here you can see the final result. First, I really missed the ship wheel. To get enough space, I had to broad the deck (remove the weapons from the back) and perform a 1x4 gap on it. I also added a map holder and a sextant to the wheel base (I'm going to change the 1x2 grey Technic brick to a black one later). I couldn't manage a real working wheel, because it needs more space to look nice as well. You can see two barrels with some equipments under the ladder. I changed the minifigures too. I wanted to have Captain Roger or Red Beard (with parrot), the rare first officer, a female pirate and a pirate with red/black stripes shirt (he's firing the cannon). Two lanters on the back. An additional deck on the front with a gun-holder and two small extra cannons. Anchor with reel (not sure that it's technically correct, but there was optimal space). You can see here the extra cannon too. A skeleton state with a sword under the front mast. The skeleton torso from the Fantasy era was preferable due to it's fixed arms. And finally, a monkey with a banana I hope it was useful to get some ideas for other ships. Thanks for stopped by. Edited July 16, 2016 by ClassicLook Quote
