Lind Whisperer Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 "If you're expecting recognition for slaying some guy named Alfredo, you're not getting it." "...For being such a famous thief, no one ever seems to have heard of him..." Quote
JimBee Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 "Faust blacklisted you. I convinced him to reconsider, because I thought having an assassin on board would be beneficial. So far, you've only succeeded in killing the wrong people. I accept responsiblity for the deaths you have cause. And should you cause more... I will not hesitate rectify my mistake. "I'm right with you on that, Sandman." <You say that because you are a moon Elf. We are the privelaged class. I realized that long before Vorpalis came to town. We weren't taxed. The law was never enforced for anything short of murder. We were given land by birthright. it isn't right.> Jinnipher switched back to basic, and replied angrily. "And killing people is?! Moone wasn't perfect but it worked. If people were unhappy there was probably a better way than killing those they disagreed with. Moon Elves are supposed to be pacifistic but it seems like your parents dropped you on your head one too many times. I'm not going anywhere with you. The only reason you're still standing there without my sword in your chest is because we're so limited as it is. But I don't have a problem decapitating traitors." She drew her sword, ready for a fight. She held back, waiting for Skrall's signal. Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 "Unless you feel like briefly lending out your handcannon, I'm not volunteering to be a dueler." Lind held up his card decks. "First time I have to retrieve these, I'm out." Quote

That's why I'm trying to maybe lessen the whom 'death and destruction' thing? I mean, let's be honest here. Asides from, y'know, truly evil beings, how often is killing necessary? And no, I'm not a treehugger or anything. I just recently had a... revelation, I guess?" Quote

"You're not wrong, but if these fools are really going to insist on getting in our way and stop us from killing the 'truly evil being' we were sent here to kill, then they're just as bad. I tried being diplomatic, but thick skulls prevailed. Or the fog. Fog..." She whipped around to Lind. "Activate that machine, now. If these two are brainwashed, maybe we can undo some of the damage." Waterbrick Down Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 "From my understanding the dragon has only been targeting the followers of Faust, who if these two's story is true, backed the wrong horse. The dragon would be due his revenge and I agree with Sandman, the king's behavior is more suited a coward than a courageous general. I do question the use of the fog however. If the wyrm is in his right than why resort to such a barbaric means of control as opposed to ruling with reason and wisdom. I'd think the dragon would be more concerned with having citizens as opposed to corpses. What guarantee can you give that my companions would stay unharmed by the beast if we follow you?" Skrall waited for a response as he noted Flynn turning on the machine. Quote
Endgame Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 Bulk and Melody just seemed confused as they recieved a burst of Puffy's mist. "...Eh? Tha's your weapon? An air freshener?" Skrall waited for a response as he noted Flynn turning on the machine. "Centuries of lies are hard to break. He convinced us, but some people just won't be swayed. They support Faust's rule, which simply isn't best for this country. We actually have had a few bounties come quietly. In all cases, assumin' you aren't part of Faust's court and such, you're stripped of your weapons and usually deported out of Moone. You won't be executed if you just come quietly." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 "Bounties a plenty it sounds like. What if we were interested in workin' for Vorpalis himself? I'm sure he could use a skilled group capable of hunting down the last remaining points of resistance with quick precision." Quote

She looked on angrily. "If we go with these imbeciles then we fail our quest. Have you all forgotten why you're here? It's to kill this dragon that is clearly evil. Now all of you can surrender and be sent on the next boat back to Eubric - if you believe the lizard will be so merciful - but I'm staying." "Bounties a plenty it sounds like. Waterbrick Down Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 (edited) Skrall turned to Jinnipher, "And all I've heard from ya, Miss. Is how yer going to kill this beast on your lonesome. Ya might have had a good deal of experiences in the past, but they aren't comin' in handy right now. Ya've been gone from this country from how many years was it? Do ya really think yer the best judge of what's really goin' on here?" The ogre takes a spray of mist directly in the face. Skrall pauses and wipes his face with his hat before turnin' to Lind unaffected. "I ain't sayin' we go back home at the moment, but I'm gettin' more and more of a feelin' that Faust was all but truthful. Shadeaux quests are getting rare, and if I can just get the Letter, I'll be qualified to go Dragoon.Hmm..." Lind turned to Sandman. I used to live here at least, and this must your first time setting foot on what's left of our continent. And, crime? Look around you, you big dumb rock! This is a place of death and destruction. Are you already forgetting those terrified people in Yukomo? The people he's killed and the other lives he's destroyed?! Get a hold of yourself! Even if the story about Faust's lies is true, those crimes don't even compare to the ones of Vorpalis!" She looked around to the other party members helplessly. Quote

Aeolus, probably. We can just detain ya, if you want to do bounties, we'd have to run you by him." Sandman whispers. "I am loyal to the contract. If you wish to be detained for our mission, so be it.
