Endgame Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 "Did you say you dealt with the insects in that there house?" Derelict asks the heroes, sounding surprised. "Yep. The squirrels too." I turn to Zarovitch. "My name's Vitus, but Sorrow is the alias I've been using for four centuries - so pen that down. You wouldn't happen to have a map of the city, or at least a list of landmarks, would you?" Quote
Asphalt Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 "Ignore the green one, He's some twit that followed us here. Nice to see you again Captain." I am beginning to understand why so many of your paths diverge in conflict Throlar. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 The captain merely glares at Throlar and Vindsval, opting not to shake the half-giant's hand. He turns to Sorrow. "A map? What do I look like, a vendor? I'm certain you can find someone somewhere who sells maps. As for landmarks, to the east is East gate which leads to the town of Wailing Warf, and the Temple of Helvetia. To the south of here is the residential district and finally Lyudmilla's Manor. The southernmost point is the South gates which takes you straight to Vega. Although, I wouldn't go anywhere, seeing as the mutants are on the rise around these parts, not that you can since the gates have been barred shut from allowing people to leave. Lyudmila's orders." von Zarovitch seems to look pensively after mentioning Lyudmila. "The town's in a sort of loop, although there's a shortcut from the residential district to the Temple of Helvetia in the form of a large covered alley. Anymore questions?" "Yep. The squirrels too." "Well, shiver me timbers and blow me down! That house has been an issue with a lot of people in the town! Seemed to be where a large group of rodents where taking limbs and what not, but now that you've got them, we don't have to worry about it! I'm at least happy about that!" Derelict seemed to be incredibly impressed with the party's actions. Quote
Asphalt Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Captain, are there any other being like myself and the dwarf here in your city? Vindsval asks as politely as he can. It seems that it would be a touchy subject for the undead. Quote
K-Nut Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Althior sits back, quietly, as he enjoys the evident torture his former adversary. "We should be able to find our way around, thank you," Captain, are there any other being like myself and the dwarf here in your city? Vindsval asks as politely as he can. It seems that it would be a touchy subject for the undead. "My friend, there is no being quite like you," Althior chuckles. Quote
Duvors Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 "My friend, there is no being quite like you," Althior chuckles. "There was..." said Throlar morosely. Quote

It seems that it would be a touchy subject for the undead. "You mean "living people"? I believe there's a vew wandering around... although I know two are here on behalv of the Emerald Emperor and that silly card game of his." The captain scoffs. "Thank you for the ifnormation. My last question: is there a government here?" von Zarovitch's face curls into a frown. "Curious you would bring that up. Countess Lyudmila is considered the individual in charge ov running this town, mainly because she has the wealth to support it. She's none to particularly vond of the living, as most people here are. What I vind ovv is the vact that she's disappeared. Some people believe she's cooped up in her mansion, others believe she out in Värtland for whatever reason. Needless to say, we guards do get reports vrom her, so she's not dead. It's just nobody's seen her in weeks. Are there anymore questions, or may I go on my patrol?" A Side-Quest has been added to your Journal! Journal Current Time: Morning Day: One Side Quests: In Progress: Side Quest: My Fair Countess Quest Giver: Captain von Zarovitch Assignment: "Countess Lyudmila hasn't been seen in months. She hasn't been seen around the town. Where could she be?..." Reward: ??? ~EXPLORING FELLCREST~ The heroes can explore the city to find hidden subquests. They can complete subquests to earn influence that allows them to explore further. Each day is divided into six sections: morning, midday, afternoon, evening, midnight, and the small hours. Most places are open and different events take place only at certain times of the day. The party can visit one section of the city per part of a day, so moving onto another area costs time. Resting consumes one entire section of the day, but different resting places offer varying benefits. Not resting at all for two whole days will cause fatigue, which causes random negative effects to be inflicted upon the party until they rest. As well, the party has three days before their portal back to Eubric closes. Should this occur, the quest will not fail, but you will need to find your own way back to Eubric. The portal will close on Midnight of the third day. Quote

Asphalt Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (This is only the second time this system has been used. ) OOC: I meant side quests, as much as the time frame. Althior sits back, quietly, as he enjoys the evident torture his former adversary. "We should be able to find our way around, thank you," "My friend, there is no being quite like you," Althior chuckles. Vindsval's gaze falls for a moment at Althior's comment, but rises again without effort. Of this I am made aware more often than you might think my friend." " "You mean "living people"? Needless to say, we guards do get reports vrom her, so she's not dead. It's just nobody's seen her in weeks. At the mention of the Emerald King's game vindsval grins slightly. "That game seems far spread indeed. I have even heard of a hero who uses the cards in battle." "If it is within my power to bring you news of your Countess I will do so Captain." Vindsval begins to turn away from the Vampire lord, but then thinks better of it and asks. "Captain are there any areas of the city you would classify as being in a state of unrest? Possibly any areas where a new influence is attempting to exert or usurp the current leadership of the City?" Quote
K-Nut Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I was hoping this might happen. "Of this I am made aware more often than you might think my friend." "I meant no offense," he looks to the "Captain" as he ignores Throlar's comment. "Where is our best chance to get a map? Perhaps a large shopping district? Quote
Asphalt Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 "None taken Althior, none taken. Yes, a market is often an excellent place to begin one's exploration of a new town." Quote

K-Nut Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Althior rolls his eyes. "As someone in a position of power I'd think you'd know the town. Evidently not..." He looks to the rest of his party. "Shall we head to the residential district? It might benefit us to get the lay of the land from the townsfolk," Quote
Endgame Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 "That is true, I suppose my... pilgrammage can wait. To the residential district, then." Quote
Kintobor Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Apologies for the lack of an update. I wound up getting a little busier than usual today. I'll update you guys this evening. Quote
Asphalt Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 "Before we leave you to your rounds Captain, how will we recognize your Countess, should our paths cross?" Quote
Kintobor Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 "Hmph. I hope you gentleman enjoy your stay." von Zarovitch snorts as his horse trots to the east of town. "You folks have helped a few of us out dealing with those rodents. If you need to, I'm certain you could rest in the shack if need be. I'll be lingering around here if you need me, seeing how I've got nothing better to do. I'll ensure some good word gets spread if someone passes by." Side Quest Complete: Who You Gonna Call? (Despite not knowing you were given one!) Having helped out in clearing the house and met with the Captain of the Watch, the party makes its way South to the Residential District. The party gets some odd stares and dead eyed glances as they move down the street, passing ratty looking houses, some of which had been built on top the walls houses that surrounded the town, standing up with teetering boards and beams. The party stops at a fork in the road that seems to lead off the main street and into a back alley. Rubble and debris sit about in barrels and crates as rope stretches over what seems to be the remains of a house. A small stall sits underneath a precariously built balcony. QM Note: The Alley is a separate location from the Residential area. Just an FYI. You can interact with everything in this picture! Endgame Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I approach the undead with the brown ponytail. "Excuse me. Is there a marketplace, and if so, could you point me towards it? I've just arrived today." Quote
K-Nut Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Althior makes his way towards the man under the stairs. "What are you selling?" Quote
Asphalt Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Vindsval moves the the Bearded man with the staff and bows low. "Greetings Elder, my friends and I are new to your city. Could you tell me, what is it that we should be certain to see? Your town is vast and I fear we will miss the areas of greatest repute if we wander aimlessly." Quote
