Posted July 6, 20159 yr So i did miss the 10224, i did wait to long. Got all the other buildings. I can't pay the 400-500 euro it cost new right now. Any suggestions how to best piece it together? I really don't care about the mini figures or of all parts are 100% correct. Should i use brick link or look somewhere else? Anyway to search wanted list on brick link to find the best price? Thanks
July 6, 20159 yr hi, if you want to use bricklink, you can download LDD file here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41226&st=2325#entry1222018 and after import it in Brickficiency (http://www.buildingoutloud.com/brickficiency.php). Maybe one match will be a good suprise ;)
July 6, 20159 yr Author Thx i will try that. The Dark Orange parts make the price go high. Anyone tried any other colors for it?
July 7, 20159 yr Thx i will try that. The Dark Orange parts make the price go high. Anyone tried any other colors for it? One way to save money would be to just do dark orange for the front facade (actually not that many bricks there) and, depending on how you display it, do the back and sides with a more common color like brown or red since you wont see them much anyway
July 7, 20159 yr I missed it as well but was able to bricklink it at a cost of about $200 USD. I already had a few hundred parts. Also used brickficiency which allowed me to order everything from 4 sellers. Edited July 7, 20159 yr by Minows
July 7, 20159 yr Please keep us updated with your progress seagambit. I would also like to Bricklink the Town Hall (and all of the other retired Modulars) and I'm not particularly fussed about the colours or the mini figures either (e.g. I'd be happy with a brown or red or cream or whatever other colour Town Hall). But, I have no idea where to start. I spent a while looking at Bricklink and just got overwhelmed!
July 9, 20159 yr Maybe my guide can help you get started with Bricklink: http://www.beardednerd.se/how-to-piece-together-a-ucs-millennium-falcon-or-any-other-expensive-out-of-print-lego-set/ I haven't checked, but if you want to do an accurate build you should focus on getting the unique parts ASAP before they get really pricy. Use something like Rebrickable to see which parts only appear in Town Hall. It's mostly the unique prints like the shields, but I think the orange will get hard to find soon too, especially in huge quantities. The clock should also be a priority since the winter set that also used it was out of stock pretty quickly. If you use the online PAB at lego.com, you might be able to substitute dark red for the entire building (dark red is generally too expensive on BL) and use the new Pirates texture blocks instead of the palisade bricks for the front, that might look rather awesome.
