Posted July 6, 20159 yr Karetao Karetao was a powerful being from a bygone age of prosperousness and innovation. Well known for his invention dubbed “adaptive armour”, Karetao is revered by many as one of the greatest geniuses of his time. However, this great creator suffered a gruesome fate, when one of his creations, in a freak turn of events, rebelled against him and his team of scientists, killing them all. Karetao carried the powerful Staff of Lightning, another of his incredible inventions. Interestingly, it utilises the elemental power of Water to generate micro-vibrations in the moisture in the air, ergo generating heat and electricity. This incredibly potent tool was not only regal in design, but also extremely useful for Karetao in his work. He never revealed what the mask he wore was, or what powers it possessed. Front Back Skeleton, Front Skeleton, Back Skeleton, Upper Leg Pose Thoughts? EDIT: Please note that the blue size 4 shells on Karetao's shoulders are derived from a third party set, and are not yet produced by the Lego group. Apologies for any inconvenience. July 7, 20159 yr Of all the amazing mocs you've shown lately, this one is the most mind-blowing really. I love the custom legs and the way you make the standard bone torso piece so much more complex is just astounding really ! It's certainly one of your best. But now I'm quite curious to where you got that blue chest plate, I assume the small shoulder shells are from those Ninjago Knockoffs, but I've never seen that chestplate before... -Iben
July 7, 20159 yr Author The chestplate is the one from the Batman Ultrabuild, but with the logo scrubbed off.
July 9, 20159 yr You know what does always blow my mind each time a see a new cretions of yours? The simplicity. The elegant and creative simplicity. So many little clever techniques that are not hard to use but are surely to concive. For the longest time I always tried to make things complex on purpose because "duh, if it's easy it looks bland". Then I discovered your flickr account and BAM! You sir have changed the way I approach MOCing, and I really wanted to thank you for that. So, if I wasn't clear enough, to me this is flawless. F***ing great job.

July 9, 20159 yr LewiMOC, I was there in that thread and seeing how you took that comment and put in in your signature makes my sides go in orbit.
July 9, 20159 yr I want that comment to be my epitaph. :v On topic, I really dig this MOC, especially the ancient Egypt feel that the mask, the blades on his back, the #8 shell and the staff give him.
July 10, 20159 yr Author On topic, I really dig this MOC, especially the ancient Egypt feel that the mask, the blades on his back, the #8 shell and the staff give him. Y'know, I certainly did go for a regal look, but I never really intended for an Egyptian aesthetic to unfold in him. Really fascinating that you see that!
