ilikeboomerang1 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Why we don't get a gas station for so many cars ! Come on LEGO we haven't got one like in decades ......... I think lol Two more years, and it will be a decade since the last service station, 7993. However, if you just mean the gas station ONLY, I think it's just two years, because the City Garage and the Tanker Truck had small ones. Yep, I meant gas station, petrol station say with a workshop or tyre fitting bay instead of another car wash. I believe the hint was dropped at LegoWorld at the beginning of the year that a gas station might be coming soon. Oh, so you meant a gas station like the Exxon/Shell ones from the early 80s. Thanks for clearing that out. Edited July 17, 2015 by ilikeboomerang1 Quote
Bricknblue Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I hope the 2016 summer wave will bring something more interesting for City because that sounds kinda boring Summer sets are always more'interesting' (aka less 'city'). Last year we got the Arctic sets and this year we got divers. Also if the list is true it's almost exactly how I predicted it. But I doubt that the list is for the whole year and probably is just for the first half. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Less City ? Funny thing to say in the topic marked City ! I prefer more city like than not, having mining, farming and logging sub-themes are okay because many places around the world have all three things at their front door within a few Km's of their city limits so yeah that's fine. Though space theme is too close to sci-fi theme because many of the vehicles are more sci-fi than real life, I guess then the deep sea diving is fine we do have harbour/coast guard sets in the past. One can guess another huge fire copter, another stand alone fire truck, plus fire boat too. I can't wait to gain better descriptions of everything because we are just guessing and quite likely shooting blanks. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) Hmm, again to the "garage": I thought once more about it and you may be right that we might get a gas station since the last one was released back in 2007 (2012 were only two gas pumps). In this case I bet on two gas pumps, a car wash and a small shop. For sure there wouldn't be a car repair included since there's already one in 60097. Do you think that the possible gas station has the same color scheme like the car dealership in 60097 (in order to add it to its car repair) or do you think that it will be a classical Octan gas station? Klaus-Dieter I'm sure it will be an Octan gas station. I have never seen IRL a gas station that is part of a car dealership. And if there's a shop, I hope it's not like the one in 7993, since it left a lot to be desired. Quote

It would be awesome if Lego could give us a couple of fire/rescue sets with the same quality. Quote

Over here in the RGV we never see those in dealerships, but we do see ROTATING CARS! I don't think we will see a 2016 version of the Shell Select because Shell broke ties with LEGO. But if you mean as in a separate shop but in Octan dressing, I hope that's possible. Maybe they could use the Popsicle sticks. Quote
LukeWarmTea Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Hi all, just wondering when we can expect the next police station? I've been in two minds about 60047. My KFOL is desperate for it but it seems like a pretty hollowed out structure to me, reasonable value with lots of action packed features - BUT, I know how she plays and I doubt once there's been a few break outs it'll get much use. The female cop is nice though. If I knew there was a better building in the pipeline, I'd wait, but it sounds like it's a fire station next? Does TLG retire a product before we see leaks of the new ones? I'm in NZ, so Lego is super expensive and it's not as easy to get (not all stores get everything, popular sets sell out and that's it, etc) Quote

Even a smaller police station like 60069 Forest Police station is probably out of reach. Although knowing how much TLG loves their police stations, there will most certainly be one in early 2017. Of course, everything at this point is still speculation :P Btw, first post, been a lurker here for over a year :D Edited July 23, 2015 by BohKnows17 Quote
LukeWarmTea Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 On the garage station topic - is there any chance of City going 'green'? The Friend's Roadster had an electric charging station, and with that awesome bright green 'recycling truck' in the City line a while back I wonder if maybe they're leaning away from petrol pumps? (Plus that big announcement recently about 'new lego...' I don't want to go into...) Quote

The last two Octan Tankers and the Octan Windmill have an Energy sign next to the Octan logo. But for service stations, I don't think so. Quote

LEGO City Fire ATV LEGO City Tire Escape Fire Starter Set LEGO City Rally Car LEGO City Race Boat LEGO City Prison Starter Set LEGO City 4 X4 Off Roader LEGO City Ambulance Plane LEGO City Van & Caravan LEGO City Garbage Truck LEGO City Fire Ladder Truck LEGO City Police Pursuit LEGO City Ferry Fire Response Unit LEGO City Police Patrol Boat LEGO City Fire Boat LEGO City Prison Island LEGO City Fire Station So, from what we can gather here, this year's Police and Fire subthemes are boats and water stuff, and Police's sub-subtheme is Prison. I think this is for the first half of the year. Also, the Van and Caravan sounds weird. Is it going to be a van driving a trailer or what? It sounds redundant, to say the least. From here, the one I think will cost the highest (and I would like the most) is Prison Island. I remember someone here in the Ideas for Sets put a prison. I think his wish will get done. Also, this is the first time LEGO has done a set based on Alcatraz! Finally, the Ambulance Plane sounds good. Edited August 1, 2015 by ilikeboomerang1 Quote
adotnamedstud Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 The Prisons are exciting news. Also very interested in the Ferry set. I thought it was just a Ferry though. Slightly disappointed if there's a drop in quality of that set. A Ferry alone would sell! Quote
wesker Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Prison Island sounds very interesting. Usually in the past they have always been a part of the police station, but it would be nice to have an actual prison complex for a change. Quote
Agent 86 Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 The Alcatraz aka Prison Island set sounds interesting. But, probably only interested in the Fire Station, Garbage Truck and Caravan at this point. I would have liked an ambulance, but not an ambulance plane! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Thank you very much for the set names, CM4Sci! Honestly I must say that I'm very disappointed about that we don't get a bank, jewelery or at least a money transporter! Since these would be much more exciting than a prison which is in Lego's nowaday's police station a huge part of it anyway! Why do we need another Race Boat although we had one with a trailer and car (60085) in 2015?! I don't like it when TLG releases extra Fire Ladder Trucks although we urgently need regular fire trucks! In a new Fire Boat I've got no need. And very suppoably the same will be with the Fire Station. I'm not that fascinated about a Prison Island! Instead of a Rally Car which suppoably will be similar to 60053, I would have prefered a simple civilian car. The Police Pursuit as well as the Police Patrol Boat might have potential. The Fire ATV will very likely be like 4427. And the Tire Escape Fire Starter Set sounds very similar to 60023 (but without ambulance) or to 60086. And the Prison Starter Set like 60066. So all three not that interesting but maybe a good opportunity to get more minifigs. The quality of the Ambulance Plane depends on how big it is. Since if it included only a seat for the pilot and the stretcher with an injured - but no seat for a doctor / paramedic and some medical equipment -, I wouldn't be interested in it. But I'm really looking forward to the 4 X4 Off Roader (supposably similar to 60058, but without jetskis), the Van & Caravan (supposably similar to 4435, but with a van instead of a car), the Garbage Truck (surely similar to 4432) and mainly the Ferry Fire Response Unit! The "response unit" probably will be a small fire boat, don't you think? I hope that the ferry is really a ferry minimum fitting two cars. Klaus-Dieter Quote
paul_delahaye Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 mmmm, so is that going to be a ferry set which would be brilliant, or a fire boat putting out a ferry fire (this won't be so great as the focus will more likely be on the fire boat), or ferry boat converted into a fire boat.....(this would be silly) or most likely just a bad description and it's actually a fire boat all along...... XAxles Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 ? No suspension, useless driver and crew (it's not driving), probably would look uninspiring, shoddily-built and lack wide fenders, opening doors, or even an engine bay. TLG might as well just stop selling City GV sets anymore. What's the use? /s /r Oooh, interesting. We're getting delinquents! Any idea as to what the mini-build will be? This better be nice enough and come with swank amenities. I like it, actually. A flying ambulance. With doctors and medical equipment and stuff like that. But what kind of plane will it be? And how big will it be? So a van, probably a Sprinter or Transit, and a caravan? That better be loaded with quaint little mini-builds and details. It's good to have another one. OK, I'm getting a picture in my head now: One ferry with a side aflame, about 5 figs, with one ferry captain, and a smaller boat with firefighting equipment and 3 firefighters with advanced equipment. This I can bank on. This one, too. There has been some Fire Boat sets, and topping those will be a tall order. I think TLG can pull it off. Well, this is new. A whole prison island detached from the mainland, with all sorts of baddies. I mean, most prison island prisoners are high-profile, or else they can just dig down and bust out easier. I'm excited to see the variety of printed fig parts this set will bring. A set to watch out for. 60004 rocks, but if the new one nails an even better one, it will fly off the shelves. Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 I really like the idea of the prison theme! Could easily make the island prison into Stryker's Island for DC! Also pleaseeeeeeeeee make the prisoners have orange jumpsuits it would make them look so much better! Quote
Dorayaki Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Interesting to here anything from LEGO Police that is unheard . Prison Island would be great, but not sure if it's gonna be in a similar scale with common LEGO police stations, or just is a rather small place? Hope it to be the former. Wonder if the prison island from Undercover is gonna be good reference. Quote
just2good Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Remember, on the original Brick Picker list, Ferry is a seperate set from Fire Response Unit, and Tire Escape is a seperate set from Fire Starter Set. I have to say, Ferry and Prison Island sound dope, and Tire Escape sounds hilarious. Quote

And yes, it does actually make sense, too - esp. since this would make 18 (instead of 16) sets for the first half of 2016. And 2015 we got 18 sets in the first half of the year, too. The only thing which doesn't sound that good is that I fear that the ferry in this case will be a very small one. Or do you think that TLG is going to release one for minimum 60 Euros (in order to look decent) on its own? Klaus-Dieter Quote
