I'd really like harbor / airport for the summer. It's not like there is much left to redo, arctic and divers and space port all all covered. Plus if the police and some fire sets are water based why not some none rescue sets?

Didn't we just get an airport?

When? We got a Friends airport... that isn't really one. And if we can get a fire and police station every year we can get a new airport that has an actual building.

I'm thinking of the cargo one, but I looked it up and realized that's already 2 years ago....time flies

Here's a look at the much anticipated Ferry set! :classic:

The price of this set is definitely not bad ($30), but honestly, I'm let down. The blandness of the colors and simple build isn't much of the problem, but it's more of some little things. There's no way for them to get to the control tower, there's only one passenger set, and the ship looks odd due to there being no bricks below the deck. You would have to make it look submerged in water to make it look better, but keep in mind this thing doesn't even float, so it'd have to be on a brick built sea.

Is the ship captain torso new?

It's from the big deep sea vessel set of last summer.

Do you think that ferry could hold 3 cars with reasonable space between them?

I think that it's possible with some clever car placement in the limited space in the ferry, but it's still can be cramped.

I keep telling myself I won't buy this, but I probably will at some point....

picked up the rally car, aside from the ridiculous wing on the back its a great little car, I did remove the raised rear on it so now it rides level (more like a real rally car) I'll probably mod it a bit and after the new years I might grab 1 or 2 more (I want more of those printed light covers!)

You are all misinterpreting the ferry boat. Those are not boats that navigate waters they are merely a platform connected by steel cable between two coasts (usually a river) like a cablecar on water. They are a substitute for a bridge. Look up cable ferry on wikipedia. They look exactly like this.

It's a bit unfortunate that there isn't a special name for these in English, because ferry is obviously confusing.

I think you can place even 4 (if they are all Smarts) ;)

Thanks for the review of the ferry, just2good.

I actually quite like this set. It has its flaws, but nothing that can't be modded. It's high on my 2016 wish list.

Oh wow, that Ferry looks fantastic,

Correct in one way. We do have a lot of those around here in the Netherlands. But not all of them have the cables...

But I love this anyway. It is a fantastic and surprising addition to the CITY.

Not all ferries of this type have cables - this is a fairly common design for short-distance open-water journeys. For example, this is the Ketchikan Airport Ferry which crosses the deep-water Tongass Narrows (an arm of the Pacific Ocean) between the island city of Ketchikan, Alaska and its international airport, which is on another island: http://www.capilanom...14x21x72dpi.jpg

That Ferry doesn't look as good as I was expecting

Kinda plain, I'd say

I'll wait for an updated version in 4 or 5 years

Wonder what that is. The return of RES-Q maybe?

Maybe he meant the Ambu-Plane? Or Summer wave? And about that, we should have news in a few weeks...

What was RES-Q?

And as for the ferry, what about those GIANT green plates? Totally worth it.

I've been tempted to find a use for those giant plates (the dark grey ones that have been available for a while) but they just feel very un-LEGO-like to me.
