Boettner Builds Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 All were great so far (Artic, Deepsea), and Mining was nice too. So why wouldn't it not suck :D I love both the artic and deep sea themes. I have all the sets, plus a few doubles! I'm just REALLY hoping that the volcano theme is just as good! Quote
BlockLogo Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) It's in the normal number range (40xxx) for seasonal sets and TLG exclusive (mainly GWP: gift with purchase) polybags. The image seems to have been removed from the Seasonal discussion thread, but if you google for "LEGO 40221" you can still see the image of the set. Thanks boss. That does look like a polybag, but a great one with so many great parts, like the bike and 6 stemmed flower piece. It's weird that it wasn't a giveaway with the Brick Bank release because the minifig's face ties it to the modulars. Edited January 6, 2016 by BlockLogo Quote
mssm Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 60133 - other Exclusive, maybe something harbor related Klaus-Dieter 60133 seems to be City Advent Calendar.. Quote
Soupperson1 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 60133 seems to be City Advent Calendar.. I hope no walls are included! :P Quote
Roebuck Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Both the arctic and deep sea themes have quite a few animals included, so I hope Lego will do the same in the volcano theme Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Both the arctic and deep sea themes have quite a few animals included, so I hope Lego will do the same in the volcano theme Animals such as....? You don't see quite as much wildlife near a magma-filled mountain. Quote
El Garfio Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I see the volcano sets ideal to complete the mustafar scene ;) Talking now seriously, I have to study the volcano sets, better when we can see some images, but they look interesting. I'm also expecting about what TLC is going to offer us in the gas station and the fun in the park sets. And the Holliday destinations, being a €70 set could be a good addition to our cities. For this price I expect something as useful and with similar piece number than coffee and bike shop or the friends mall Quote
paul_delahaye Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Odds on the Volcano research sets including a helicopter………….guaranteed! Quote
Zusammengebaut Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Hello, I grew up with Lego City - and the fire station. So it is great to see, that the "classic" fire or police stations are still out there. The brand-new Fire Station is great, I like the build and the modular system. My Review - this time just with music, but many close-ups. May be, I am in a reminiscent mood. And if you would like to see just my images - no prob. Take care Andres Quote
geezerman402 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Volano wildlife could maybe be mountain goats? though they wouldn't spend too much time near flowing lava... Quote
Boettner Builds Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Volano wildlife could maybe be mountain goats? though they wouldn't spend too much time near flowing lava... I hope at least one set has a goat! The aftermarket prices on those are just insane!! Quote
Oederland Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) The crimes we see in LEGO City sets are all non-violent ones. Well, yes. But the criminals are certainly not the most friendly ones either, are they, given their face expressions and clothings, and the focus is clearly on thieves. E.g. why not a police set focusing on a dispute between neighbours, it could be fantastic, consider something like one guy with a barbecue, another guy with a garden hose, a little fence, plus a policeman Or something around parking violation, we have plenty of vehicles, if we had street signs for "no parking" the Lego Police could distribute tons of traffic tickets (and thereby, rise some money for the next, inevitable generation of police helicopters, police planes, police quads/ATVs). A while ago I came across this set from a clone brand, and in fact, I really like the idea even if it's not "policital correct". It's clearly enspired by 70808 Super Cycle Chase, but a more realistic version (inappropriate for children) Someone's seen the summer catalog and says the biggest set is a Volcano Rescue sort of set. Research or something. Maybe we get a Volcano Police Station in 2016 then Both the arctic and deep sea themes have quite a few animals included, so I hope Lego will do the same in the volcano theme Does anyone have additional informaton on those volcano sets? Maybe it's not meant to be a realistic expedition, but rather, something semi-fictional, like researchers stumbling across dinosaurs/creatures. If you think about volcano research there's not that much you can associate actually, except guys in metallic protective clothing. For a "proper", "closed" volcano you would need many and/or huge bricks. Playmobil has done so already, see this and this, and I would imagine TLC to come up with an overall smaller structure opening by hinges like in 8637 Volcano Base (obviously without the gate), looking rather lame when closed, but making it more impressive when opened. In that case the research base might just be a small hut with some beams, antennas for a "scientific" style. The other sets rather sound like generic vehicles released in a certain colour to indicate they are part of the volcano research team. I mean, I can think of different types of crawler vehicles, but I'm not aware of a volcano-specific version (or anything closely related to volcanos). Same for helicopters and trucks. So possibly just a bunch of vehicles combined with a few rocks and flames. Edited January 9, 2016 by Oederland Quote
Bricknblue Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 There will not be dinosaurs or creatures with the sets, I promise that. It's a City theme, not an action theme, and that means nothing too out there, and more grounded. They will most likely be looking for lava crystals or something like they did in Arctic. Arctic only had dogs and bears, and can honestly be used again on a mountain, just use the black or brown bear color instead. Quote
jonwil Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Maybe they will bring back the goat (as someone else suggested) or maybe they will introduce a totally new animal for the volcano sets. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Though what kind of animals live near a volcano ? There might be some animals in the fun in the park set, I wonder if there are tie in's with the collectable minifigs - i.e. pizza deliver guy from an earlier series and the new animal control officer with skunk ? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Honestly, I've never heard of any animal living near a volcano. I wouldn't expect any animal in these sets. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Interesting to consider the fact that we get all new fire sets and mid-year volcano research, is Lego City heading for Seconds From Disaster ? Hmm, gives me an idea ! Quote
wilson3a10 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Jang made a comparison of the length of the ladder between those 2016 fire engines. Shame that the fire ladder truck in 60110 is way better than 60112. It makes no sense that even if the fire engine of 60112 has the longest trailer the ladder can not extend further with such advantage. Interesting to consider the fact that we get all new fire sets and mid-year volcano research, is Lego City heading for Seconds From Disaster ? Hmm, gives me an idea ! Yes they are heading for another disaster Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Jungle research seems like the next thing for Lego to do. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Maybe we get a Volcano Police Station in 2016 then Who knows? I haven't seen the Agents recently, someone has to keep tabs on Dr. Inferno. Quote
Actor Builder Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Jungle research seems like the next thing for Lego to do. Or perhaps something like Storm-Chasers. Quote
NotMegalodon Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Or just a new version of an old theme, like Harbor, Coast Guard or Airport? Farm maybe? Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Or just a new version of an old theme, like Harbor, Coast Guard or Airport? Farm maybe? Hmm, I guess we need to wait until Legoworld next month to see all of Lego City for 2016 including any surprises ! Quote
legonerd54321 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Or perhaps something like Storm-Chasers. I'd love to have a Storm-Chasers sub-theme or theme. I can see them making a regular pickup truck with storm chasing equipment, a cool storm-chaser modified car like the TIV (image below) and a destroyed house to go along with it. Maybe a tornado backdrop. Quote
Roebuck Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Animals such as....? You don't see quite as much wildlife near a magma-filled mountain. No, they usually run away But you never know with Lego, they might include some trapped animals and or civilians you need to save as a story... I always have my hopes up that they will include animals in new sets! Often I am disappointed they didn't in likely candidates, but sometimes pleasantly surprised when they did in unlikely sets Quote
