The Cobra Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 New polybag: Can you please confirm: either the minifig sits at the wheel, or you place accessories on clips, but can't do both things at once? Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Can you please confirm: either the minifig sits at the wheel, or you place accessories on clips, but can't do both things at once? That's not his photo but I assume there's either another clip hidden or you have to leave it off/put it in the back Quote
jonwil Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Why is it that bad guy cars in LEGO City always seem to be dark red? Quote
geezerman402 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 It follows the same logic as light sabres, I think. Quote
jonwil Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I applaud LEGO for using the hazmat suit piece in grey in the volcano research set to represent a silver fire/heat suit (as seen in the movie Volcano) Quote
wilson3a10 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Here's a look at a new 2016 Fire polybag. Found it at Toys"R"Us. Perhaps this would be more interesting Quote
Lyichir Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Why is it that bad guy cars in LEGO City always seem to be dark red? I remember hearing a statistic once that red cars tended to get stolen more often, but it might have been apocryphal. Chances are the actual reason is that red is a loud and aggressive color that better identifies the driver as a potential bad guy. It also contrasts vividly with the typical blues and whites of police cars. Darkening the color is just a variation on that that can potentially play up the "evil" angle even more. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 From what I've heard and read a while ago, red cars tend to get pulled over more by cops. Quote
Dan-147 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I don't know... I have a fire-engine red VW Golf and I've never been bothered by the cops. And I'm not the slowest driver on the freeway!! Quote
Japanbuilder Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) Why is it that bad guy cars in LEGO City always seem to be dark red? Well just recall your color theory lessons from art class. Red signifies the Passions, as in behavior controlled mostly by feeling and not by reason. Perhaps it is cliche in the context of criminal behavior (which for a good number of crimes is actually methodical and calculating). It does, nevertheless, bear out that red is considered an aggressive color. Edited February 8, 2016 by Japanbuilder Quote
ilikeboomerang1 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I don't know... I have a fire-engine red VW Golf and I've never been bothered by the cops. And I'm not the slowest driver on the freeway!! That might be because they might not think that a Golf driver would be a criminal or driving fast. Like in the new Prius commercial, where the guy driving the Prius turns the corner really fast, but the cops don't catch him, because they would never think that a Prius driver would do that. But anyway, I really like the new sets! The must-buys for me would be the gas station, park, and airport sets. Quote

BrickFit26 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Why don't Lego do buses? They did have a bus on a LEGO City set. I forget which one though. Quote
wooootles Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Why don't Lego do buses? 7641, 8404, 60026. All retired, though. Quote
Robert8 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Meh... Nothing interesting Maybe the 1x1 trans-orange round tiles but that's it Quote
jfbat Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I've got this polybag. The "seat" is made of two jumperplates positioned lengthwise. Which kind of, but not realky works. I don't quite understand why they didn't use a 2x2 plate, which would have seated the minifig better. As a set I like it, though. It ain't much, but doesn't cost much either. And it's perfect for a little streetbuilding scene in a town. Quote
Rick Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 I guess he's supposed to stand operating it instead of sit down then. Quote
Robert8 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Advent Calendar! But it looks kinda meh this year.... There is no crook! I repeat, there is no crook this time! Picture taken from The Brick Show Edited February 13, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
