-Noel- Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) I'm really excited about the olive green grass stem piece! Edited July 8, 2015 by -Noel- Quote
Oky Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Like many here apparently, I don't really buy Ninjago (despite being a fan of the cartoon). I only get a set every once in a while for parts. But man, this set is very tempting! It's so beautifully designed and comes with all the main characters plus a few civilians! I love that they included part of the surrounding village and all the little details! I especially love the shadow puppet theater and the box with "Cole's Stuff - Hands off!" Quote
freakwave Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Did you see the new/recolored parts at the end of the video? What color is the 2x2 plate and the triangular plate? Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Triangular plate is Reddish Brown, 2x2 is Olive Green. Quote
Ondra Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 They said that was their intent in the designer video. Also Claire is a tourist and Jesper is a shopkeeper apparently. I watched designer video after that post, think Im die hard lego fan , so that was easy to me .It better than implementing some airjitzu capsule. Quote
Kai NRG Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015  This is fantastic! Absolutely beautiful set of buildings, and so many great details... my wallet is not gonna be happy... Quote
Venunder Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Many, many, great features in this set. An instant classic as far as I can see. I am going to need several of these. But why did they use Black for the base of the trees and not the rest of the tree trunks? Or give us a brown part instead of the black? Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 It's amazing and all but... NO STRINGS for rods? in SUCH set? All I want is Misako <3 Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Looks like a nice set for Ninjago fans. But as a huge historical themes fan who's dying for more realistic Japanese architecture, I'm not very interested in it. The blue house looks good, and the bridge is well build. But the temple and the green building just look... messy somehow. I don't think this set holds a candle to Medieval Market Village. Does anyone know what pieces are used to make the green building's roof? And the gold arm looking pieces? Oh, and the olive grass pieces are fantastic. Nice little homage to the original Ninja theme with that flyer too. I do really like that touch. Edited July 8, 2015 by Sir Walter Maugham Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 The arms were used on Hero Factory minifigures. The roof is made of garage door parts. Quote
Etzel Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Does anyone know what pieces are used to make the green building's roof? And the gold arm looking pieces? Garage roller doors and Hero Factory robot arms. Quote
Rob1321 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Would be awesome if it was a regular ninja theme and not Ninjago. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Minifigure spinjitzu cards. Well now I've seen everything. I hope they are printed in the finalized sets because minifigures holding 1x2 tiles with stickers causes the stickers to peal a bit. Also, they are pretty tough to put on, especially for those with OCD or perfection tendencies. (Like me) Quote
Artifex Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Oh-em-gee! WHAT A GREAT SET! I'm not into Chima, but oh, wow! Quote
Sir Walter Maugham Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Thanks 8BrickMario and Etzel. I always have a hard time identifying pieces after these mini-darkages. Edited July 9, 2015 by Sir Walter Maugham Quote

Schreeuwwitje Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I usually don't collect or check the Ninjago theme; but when my eyes came across this beautifull set I couldn't believe them. Finally some non battle stuff but a really nice architectural set with a high grade of playability and a high grade of design. Love it! Quote
JasonEffex Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 This is pretty fantastic! The temple looks so well built and detailed. I think the minifigure assortment is also well chosen, it's nice that we finally get some Ninjago citizens aswell. So I'll definitely be getting this one, good thing I've been saving a bunch of VIP points in advance. Quote

8BrickMario Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 They're definitely stickers. If you look closely enough at the pictures, you can see the lines where the stickers end. That's a shame. When was the last time a 1x2 accessory tile was stickered, though? Ix2 cheeses are, but not flat tiles meant to be held by minifigures. They would be a lot better as printed parts. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) They're definitely stickers. If you look closely enough at the pictures, you can see the lines where the stickers end. Yeah. Seems like it won't change. Thats disappointing, but who cares when you got a set like this?! That's a shame. When was the last time a 1x2 accessory tile was stickered, though? Ix2 cheeses are, but not flat tiles meant to be held by minifigures. They would be a lot better as printed parts. Not sure. Technically I guess it could be the Rocket Raccoon polybag. It had 1x2 sized stickers saying "Awesome Mix-tape Vol. 1" and "Awesome Mix-tape Vol. 2" that you could put on 1x2 tiles in your own collection. You're obviously going to have figures holding it. Thats my only example. It never explicitly states to do so in the polybag, but everyone is going to do it. Edited July 8, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I got to admit, that intricate Oriental architecture on the Temple is exquisite, but there are two things that slightly sour it for me: 1. The price. £170 seems a little pricey to me, especially for the piece count. 2. The minifigs. I will admit I'm rather disappointed at the complete lack of villains in the set, but given that it's supposed to be a more peaceful scene, I can probably let that one slide. I might get this next year, my budget can't really stretch to this beauty at the moment. But I can seriously imagine this being in real demand at Christmas and be backordered to the latter part of January next year. LEGO have pulled off a stunner that hits almost all the right notes I think. Oh, and I did post this in the Ninjago 2015 thread but seems relevant here as well: for anybody wondering what the SDCC reveal is going to be on Friday, it seems that it IS the Temple as well. Seems this set will be on display at SDCC, so for those of you attending SDCC on Friday, seems like you're going to see this beauty in the flesh. Unless BZP have made a mistake in their reports of course... Quote
Markalus Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Wow! I'm not into Ninjago but that is stunning. I think it's pretty clear TLG are trying to capture a wider fan base with this one. This will become a classic. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 If there is only ONE Ninjago set to ever buy it is this one and the only thing to add is....... Quote
