Posted July 11, 20159 yr today i have used jims gorgeous review to replicate the rear axles of the arocs. And iam not really satisfied. Maybe i have made errors because i had no instruction but it seems that the axle doesnt uses the full spring movement and the sideways guidance isnt the best too. so i have played a bit around. it seems to have more suspension travel and to be more flat. 100_1492 by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr 100_1493 by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr 100_1494 by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr 100_1496 by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr 100_1495 by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr Edited July 11, 20159 yr by efferman
July 11, 20159 yr Author on the frontaxle it will definetly get leafsprings. iam not sure on the rear axle. btw 100_1497 by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr 100_1498 by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr the fenders are not final
July 11, 20159 yr Doesn't this use incorrect geometry? Because distance between the two axles is fixed, shouldn't the top pivots of the steering arms allow for some movement?
July 11, 20159 yr Author fortunately the play in the towballs is enough. even in ldd it works http://www.doktor-brick.de/index.php/Attachment/5573-arocs-modified-rear-axle-lxf/ btw whats your opinion about these taillights? arocs taillights by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr
July 11, 20159 yr Efferman the problem is that the wishbones are used as leafsprings! and the leafsprings are missed! I've made some leafsprings with lego parts, will upload them soon

Thx for the ldd file, complete newb here to LDD and decided to mess around with the rear tailight section and modify it a bit....this is what I was able to come up with, hope you don't mind.. Here's the ldd file https://www.dropbox....xle SM.lxf?dl=0
July 11, 20159 yr Author Tlg has the suspension arms at a different location which makes this necessary. I think the tail of your version looks to much like an M.A.N
July 11, 20159 yr True, I can see that. It was loosely based on this image, but after looking at a few more It seems that it wasn't very accurate. Edited July 11, 20159 yr by sm1995
July 11, 20159 yr Nice mods and added detail to the back of the model! I am not really used to new technic so once I get this model I'll have to watch on how new technic is used since I have not used technic since 2003-05. Quick Question when does the official set actually come out because I have seen multiply release dates (Sorry to have an off-topic question). Cool Designs! -RailCo
July 12, 20159 yr Good to see this is not even out yet and already people are trying to improve it :)
July 12, 20159 yr Efferman, it would be nice if you use te round fenders from shapeways for the rear.
July 12, 20159 yr Author Yeah, this would be nearly the optimum, but unfortunately a set of 4 fenders will cost 50 euros. So i have to wait for this. a automatic tailgate lock edit: lxf file arocs modified tipperbed by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr Edited July 12, 20159 yr by efferman
July 13, 20159 yr Author two mods, one for playability, one for stability. The stability mod is for the stabilizers. it chanches a blue 2L crossaxle pin into an dark grey 3L crossaxlepin and moves a 4L liftarm. This should increase the stability of the wormgear mechanism. http://www.doktor-brick.de/index.php/Attachment/5639-stabilizer-stability-mod-lxf/ stabilizer stability mod by Michael Wirth, auf Flickr The second mod is moving the pneumatic valves behind the batterybox to have all crane controls at one place. Unfortunately this makes it necessary to move the crane two studs back to avoid a collision between valves and crane column http://www.doktor-brick.de/index.php/Attachment/5640-controlmod-lxf/ Edited July 13, 20159 yr by efferman
July 20, 20159 yr Hello Effe, I have found something interesting for you... Leafstrings solution with flex axles... have you seen this? Look from 0:30s... the whole video is also interesting... :) Max... Edited July 20, 20159 yr by MaxSupercars
July 26, 20159 yr Hi Guys, as I don't like pneumatics, I decided to build it a bit different... meaning without the pneumatic parts (I know it's a sacrileg for all of you, who have waited decades for the new pneumatic parts:-)). And I also built a trailer for it... The Truck is drivable and steerable via RC and also the dumping of the bed is remote controlled. The trailers bed can be dumped manually.
July 28, 20159 yr I do not have the Arocs yet but i want to change te places of the 2e axle and the gearbox with the outriggers, then there is enough space at the back to add a hook lift. I can't wait.
July 31, 20159 yr I think i'll make a second bed wich is just flat so i kan change between the dump bed and the flat bed
