Dafgek81 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Listen, when I started 25 years ago I was the same, but trying hard and trying 10000 times I've got to a point where YES I do have enough skills to design a full suspended frame all wheel drive and much more than this! You are missing a point to me, it's not a challenge between us here, it's more like "hey we are a big family and we want to help each other", but in order to help each other you need to show something so we can give and receive advices on! Often Dafgek asks for instructions….I mean I couldn't enjoy Lego if I was only building from instructions…..just go and build something!! Well, I like building models with instructions. If You don't like that about people, then that is your problem. I do not have the time to spent days on building and rebuilding stuff. As I have mentioned many times, I'm a collector, not a builder. I love to see all those beautiful MOC's out there. Also yours, but I just can't build those from scratch. Forgive me for not being very technical. I can drive trucks and I do that very good, just don't expect me to build even a simple chassis of a truck. I'm busy collecting the parts for the old Actros from Sandman, those instructions are old and not complete, building that is already a challenge for me. And I'm planning on building a trailer for it MY SELF. it will be much like the tipping bed of the truck, but the rest I will build myself. Old Lego I can work with, new Lego not so much. Quote
TheNextLegoDesinger Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) HY after a week i finally had the time(and weather) to shoot some outdoor pics here are my 42043B with moc trailer, 42030, 8043 and my gooseneck trailer DSC_0025 by thenextlegodesinger, on Flickr DSC_0027 by thenextlegodesinger, on Flickr it doesn't touch but it bents a lot. 2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 That is a serious road train... The deck of the lowboy needs a little more engineering I'm afraid! It is a little to weak... Quote
TheNextLegoDesinger Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 yeah it holds just enough, sadly my XL-motor is to weak to pull the 2trailers with my 42030 on the goosneck Quote
Siegfried Meyer Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 On the side view you may want to fold the pillar/beam a bit more....so the from part of the roof starts 1 or 2 studs backwards. Also the black front wheelarches could be 2 studs thick.....at the moment they are only 1 stud thick..the same as the 42043.... I made some changes to the arches and made the 1 1/2 wide (protruding the side) and 2 thick (not sure if this was what you ment with more precedence) and the only change to the beam of the windscreen was the Mirrors and the wissor above. The mirror was fixed using a #5 axle connector and now its a #6 axle connector Thank you for your suggestions on this as I'm pleased with the end result Quote
Pat-Ard Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Hi Sieg, I'm really impressed by your cab!!! I looks great. Is it possible to mount the visor one or two studs lower? I think this would look better... Quote
Siegfried Meyer Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) Shouldn't be a problem.. Edited December 13, 2015 by Siegfried Meyer Quote
Kman860 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I like the trailers TheNextLegoDesigner, could that little trailer piece be used on the Arocs (A model)? Quote
TheNextLegoDesinger Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 the dolly? yes of course it uses the suspention arm as linkage Quote
Pat-Ard Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Should be a problem.. Hmmm... Keep up with this MOC! Quote
skaah Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I want to mod the grabber to that it uses one of the bigger, standard cylinders. Got it from another set. Did anyone try this modification yet? I can't really find a good mechanism that is compact as gives the grabbers enough grabbing strength. Quote
tripletschiee Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Did somebody try to modifiy the Arcos into a 8x8? The two front axles should also be driven. Quote
TheNextLegoDesinger Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 nope , try it your self and share it with us Quote
pgplay Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 In real life the last section (jib) folds up in opposite way... When I become my Arocs next week I try to place middle pneumatic valve on the top and try to make it as in real life or I do the same modification as Cumulonimbus did because I like the folded booms too... :) It seems that versions with bigger bucket remain bucket during transport just in the dump... Max... Definitely looks better Quote
Lakop Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I love those trailers. I think the red one could do with some studded beams to limit the bending. Quote
trekman Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I have just finished building the truck with clam shell crane, and the first mod was to relocate all the pneumatic switches to the same side as the crane rotation. A bit fiddly, but worthwhile in that all main crane functions can now work from the one side. I also put proper spacing on the rear wheels and the proper wheel finishers on the front. (They are too much set in on the instructions. Quote
