[MOC] camper trailer

I was inspired by building the excellent Toyota FJ40 model designed by rm8 which can be found elswhere in this forum (at http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=103380).

I developed a mod for the FJ40 to place the battery on the roof rack so that the interior is not too packed (and you can see the rear seats). Then I decided to build a camper trailer in the same colour scheme to go with it. This is what the whole thing looks like:

The trailer has a parking wheel that is retracted when hitched to the FJ40 and lowered when stand alone. A removable pin structure holds it in either the retracted or lowered position.

The roof of the trailer sits on locating pins and can be removed. This is to allow further development into a working pop-top camper trailer.

Honestly, I applaud everyone who can build with technic. I haven't really tinkered with it, but props to all of you who have and can do things like this with it.

I love this a lot! Most technic models that I see seem incomplete to me, almost like an exoskeleton of a system set……

But not this.

This build is so well done and visually appealing. :thumbup:

Very cool dude I have the Toyota FJ40 sitting behind me and might build the trailer to go along with it because it looks so good.

I have an idea for you , there is enough space in the trailer i think to put Sariel's, turn signal system . So you could wire it up when you turn the trailer lights would flash at the back to show the direction you are going .

Thanks very much for the positive feedback. I will try try turn signal system - maybe rig it up so the FJ40 and trailer have turn indicators that operate together. I love details like that. Will check it out.
