Commander Turtle Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 (edited) Tags: Exploration Planet: C04 Aeristus On the grasslands of Aeristus... Why exactly am I exploring with this and not the Hummingbird? Because that's what our orders were. You always say I shouldn't question authority, Commander! You shouldn't question my authority, Sonja! Because I'm always right. Question other people. ~~~~ I have found something bizarre. It appears to be ruins, of some kind. They're very old, must be at least 50 years old. Or a hundred. I have no idea, I'm not an archaeologist! Sonja? There are little relics of people. This makes no sense, there were no people here before. Send a report through to HQ, this needs more investigation. Commander, you're not going to like this. HQ say to abandon mission immediately. You are not to collect any samples. You're right I don't like that! What are they thinking? They also say you must attend a formal debrief at Orinshi. I don't like this, not one bit. I'm going to bring a sample for Fabian. Commander- I know what they said. To be continued... Trying my hand at making something decaying. Definitely an area I want to get better at, I envy the builders who make decay look easy and natural. C&C welcome. Edited July 11, 2015 by Commander Turtle Quote
mccoyed Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Great bike, Turtle. I also really like that faceplate for the helmet. Looks awesome. Need to get one or two of those. Quote
Commander Turtle Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Great bike, Turtle. I also really like that faceplate for the helmet. Looks awesome. Need to get one or two of those. Thanks. And yeah man, I had one of these scratched up gems from the original Mars sets, but Bricklink helped me find some in perfect condition. You can see my camera in it! Quote
Legocity2713 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Well, now I won't rest until I get a vehicle like that… thanks a lot. In all seriousness though, good read and nice build. Loving that vehicle and the "mechanic shop" in the first panel. Awesome work. Quote
Mike S Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Neat bike! Funny story! I wonder what the HQ knows about the ruins.... Quote
Graham Gidman Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) Really liking that "bike" and the decaying area is nice! Also, like you said on one of my builds awhile back, you're one of the only fleshie characters I might be able to cameo in a build of mine, so do you have a list of the pieces used to make him? narbilu Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Compliments, nice little build, great bike and you even got to integrate the purple trees Quote
robuko Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Very nice build, I like the contrast between the clean machinery lines and the crumbling ruin and the photo editing is great. It's a pity that the commander has not learned the first rule of Indiana Jones - never mess with ancient temples! Quote
LittleJohn Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Really cool ruins, and I love that vehicle! Quote
Commander Turtle Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Thanks everyone for the kind words. Well, now I won't rest until I get a vehicle like that… thanks a lot. In all seriousness though, good read and nice build. Loving that vehicle and the "mechanic shop" in the first panel. Awesome work. Thanks! That bay is a small part of my Landship from last week Really liking that "bike" and the decaying area is nice! Also, like you said on one of my builds awhile back, you're one of the only fleshie characters I might be able to cameo in a build of mine, so do you have a list of the pieces used to make him? Cheers! Most of my guy is from Worriz, who is available in a super cheap poly. One red arm, one dark bley. Emmet hair, and the only actually rare part is his face from the Constitution Train Chase. Very nice build, I like the contrast between the clean machinery lines and the crumbling ruin and the photo editing is great. It's a pity that the commander has not learned the first rule of Indiana Jones - never mess with ancient temples! Oh, I'm sure he can outrun a boulder! Quote
NuckElBerg Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Nice ruins and beginning of what could be a mysterious plotline! I hope I'm the inspiration behind that! The only thing I can think of in terms of improvement is maybe making the foliage a bit more elaborate (more trees, perhaps varying a bin in size). Quote
aeralure Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Nice job on the ruins. The texture and color variation works well for them. I really like that little bike! Great build! Quote
