Bought 3 sets today: Ninja Bike Chase, Tiger Widow Island & Misfortune Keep. To be honest and didn't expect to like Bike chase set , but it is really good! Enjoyed the build and the final result.

Tiger Widow Island is the best set of this wave! Really loved the building process, and the look of complete build. The temple looks great, and I love the use of Aqua blue plates to represent the water. Also it's the only way to get Dogshank bigfig, and the cheapest way to get both ghost Cole and Airjitsu gee Nya. Personally ,besides Airjitsu Temple (which is ucs, so it doesn't count) Tiger Widow Island is my favorite Ninjago set in past 2 years! If you want to buy one Skybound set I suggest this one as its a really good value, and an awesome set !

Then there's Misfortune Keep , the set I only bought for Nadakhan. I liked the build, but not as much as Tiger Widow though. It also took me around 3 hours to build it, which is longer than it took me to build Superhero Airport Battle ( which has more pieces). The minifigures of this set are good, but all of them besides Nadakhan can be found in other sets. I love that they gave Jay new double sided face( his updated face is long overdue), Kai and Lloyd both look great. But build wise I am not happy with final results! It's too small to even feet 6 minifigs included in a set! It a lot smaller than in show which is understandable, but makes me wish they made it 200 pcs more to at least make it fit more minifigures. So I am a bit disappointed with this set.

Also I wanted to point out that Lloyd doesn't come with new shoulder pad in any sets both this wave and summer one. Really dissapointed by this, he is the only ninja without this shoulder pad.

The point about the hype for tiger widow, I kind of agree that it is nowhere on the level of Wu's dragon or the ToA. My hype is because I bought it on the weekend and it does look great for what it is. The unique figs are great, I like having a bigfig dogshank plus ghost Cole was exactly what I wanted. My main display Cole now is riding his dragon from the skybound wave in deep stone torso with ghost legs and green ghost head (from the TWI set), and his green elemental sword (from final battle). With bandana and hair piece instead of ninja hood, its looking pretty great.

Out of this current wave I think the sets that deserve any hype are jays elemental dragon and the raid Zeppelin as they both look awesome on my shelf

In general I just think Tiger Widow Island has great figs, great architecture, and great landscaping. Plus it offers a pretty well-rounded play experience. I wouldn't say it's as good a set as Temple of Airjitzu or Master Wu Dragon, but it's a nice set in its own right, and a lot of its appeal is from stuff you can't find in the other Skybound sets.

I like Temple of Airjitsu as well, but how can you compare UCS set to normal set? It's different entity all, together.

I don't think it's weird at all that the Tiger Widow Island is the set that getting all the hype. Despite the 450 pieces for $50, it has Ghost Cole and Nya, and while she is available in two more sets next years, people want her now. Not to mention it's the only way to get Dogshank ever. Mind you the other 2 minifigures are cool too, but there's more than one way you can get them! As far as the set go it's beautiful! The rock structures are both really cool, not to mention the playability of the the upper temple level. The sword of souls (Lloyd's) is really nice in this set but I made a tv show version of it, by sanding down the handle of the new handle piece and the placing it in the new brown lightsaber handle piece and then everything else on top of it.

I didn't notice this until you said something. I plan one using one of the extras from Jay.

aviator variant of Sensei Wu.

Sensei Wu (unique aviator variant option)

Isn't it just a helmet? It's not any new printing or something.

Minifigs are an obvious reason to get this set. But with that aside, another reason this is popular may be because it's the only land set in the Skybound wave (I wonder why...).

Yeah, it's just a change in hat.

Yup. Just a helmet change... a variant of the Possession Wave Wu. At the same level as maskless/wrapping-less ninja variants.

Except hair pieces are generally more desirable than aviator helmets. I mean, just look at Zane.

My temple of airjitsu arrived in the post today. The box is so big, I will wait though till my wife comes back from her parents place this weekend before we build it together.

Yeah. That doesn't change the fact that it's a variant though.

Ohhh. No wonder when people make an "all variants of ____" video, there are some that look the same. That explains a lot.

How could Airjitzu Battle Grounds look like? I have a feeling it will obviously have some kind of dueling feature. Maybe it will some with two plain-colored spinners? And how could the set be centered to fit this feature?

This was pretty much the only set from the day the names were revealed we had no idea how it could look.

My guess is that there may be a function where an Airjitzu flyer is built into a rocky structure(like a small mountain made of BURPs). Im thinking the flyer would most likely be for Nya.

Hey everyone, I wanted to check and see if this has ever happened to you. I opened up the box for my temple of airjitsu and bag 5 was split open. The box hadn't been tampered with as far as I could see, and I went through the instruction book to double check that everything was there and nothing was missing. I've never experienced a bag being split open before and I can only hazard a guess that the large 16x16 plate must have caused it perhaps by being pushed against the other bags when in the box.

Has anyone experienced a split bag before? Not just with tToA but any other sets too?

Other than that I am loving the set!

Yeah I experienced this twice, one of them was my temple of airjitzu, and the other one was my mirkwood elf wall

Oh yes the temple is definitely a keeper! It really is, also it looks ten times nicer if you get the azur plates in the middle of the lake

This happened to me with the Enter the Serpent set. Bag 4 was split open and about 10 of the pieces were missing.

It looks like Nya will be getting a "throwback" outfit as well.

I assume it will be included in the Samurai X Cave Chaos set. We'll just have to wait and see to be sure.

This isn't the first time we've seen that outfit. The new costumes are also used for the ninja in the Ninjago stage show at Legoland Malaysia, including Nya (in fact, when we first saw pictures from that show it wasn't clear that those costumes would ever even get a physical release!).

Apparently Skylor gets a throwback costume in the TV series too. Hoping that shows up in a set as well!
